~ The Simple Woman's Day Book ~

~ Stop by Peggy's to see all the Daybook entries for this week. ~

*****

Outside My Window ... it's cloudy and cool.  I don't think the sun is going to make an appearance today.
***
I am thinking ... about how tired I am. *yawn*
***
I am thankful for ... my husband.  He is a hard worker, good provider, wonderful father and a romantic husband who makes me feel cherished.
***
From the kitchen ... Fresh gluten free bread is on the agenda for later this morning.  I made bread for the rest of the family yesterday afternoon.
***
I am wearing ... a dressy red, black and white top with khaki capri's.  The kids all asked me where I was goiing today.  Apparently I don't look this good on a day to day basis.    I told them I have to teach today.  It's Andrew's first day of Kindergarten.
***
I am creating ... a blanket for Andrew.  I finished the afghan that I made for my mom and will post pictures of it soon.  I've moved on to finishing Andrew's round ripple afghan.
***
I am going ... to take all of my kids out to lunch today.
***
I am reading ... Butterfly in Brazil
***
I am hoping ... that my gluten free bread will turn out today.
***
I am hearing ... the sounds of spoons clanking against cereal bowls as the kids eat breakfast.
***
Around the house ... It's laundry day today.  That means I get as much laundry processed today.  I've already got two loads ready to fold and a third will soon be done as well.  I fold clothes in my bedroom while I listen to teaching tapes.  Right now I am listening to a series by my Pastor's wife called Family Relationships.  I just unpause and pause when I finish a load.  Throughout the day, as time allows I hear the Word being preached and it encourages me.
***
One of my favorite things ... Tea.  This morning I am enjoying a hot mint tea.
***
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: A full week of Kindergarten.  We are picking up our new John Deere lawn mower today and for once everyone is excited to mow the lawn.  Tuesday night I am hoping to go to a meeting for a buying club.  Wednesday I have a gluten free meal planning and dinner class up in the cities and some shopping to do at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.  Thursday is our homeschool parkday.  With the arrival of June we meet from 11-1 and most families bring a picnic lunch.  The weather might not cooperate this week so Beckie and I have made plans to get our families together if we can't get to the park.  Friday Andrew has speech.
***
Here is a picture thought I am sharing ...  Andrew's round ripple still in progress.

My kids LOVE for me to dress up in "teacher clothes" like I used to when I taught outside the home when we have a "school day". Most days they are learning on their own doing all sorts of wonderful things.

I usually wear comfy clothes at home but wonder if I should dress better. Does the dress effect the mood and work? It might.
Enjoy the park days and you time in the city.

What a lovely bright afghan! It's so cheerful! I would feel loved just being cozy under it!

OOoh, I have never seen a ripple done in the round before. I am sure I COULD adapt an existing straight ripple pattern, but I reckon the maths would make my head hurt.
I was signing the Mr Linky for the daybook, but I've done it now.
