Homeschooling Grandma

Any other homeschoolers out there living in Germany at the present time?
I'd love to hear from other U.S. homeschooling families in Germany.  In past years there has been a home school conference in Kaiserslautern in the Spring.  Anyone with information on that for this year?  We love to go and exchange ideas and curriculum.   Also if you are in the Grafenwoehr, Vilseck or Hohenfels area maybe we can exchange some stuff even sooner.  I have a lot of stuff to share.  Anyone interested in organizing a homeschool book fair?  Let me know what your interests are.

I love homeschooling my grandchild!

I have had the privilege of being with my daughter and her husband in Germany for the past 4 years.  I started homeschooling my granddaughter, then aged 3 soon after we arrived here.  We went through preschool, then Kindergarten, then 1st and 2nd grades and now we are doing 3rd Grade work (starting last September).  I teach year round so we can take our vacation days when it works for us.  If my granddaugter were in the schools back in our home state she would just be in 1st grade now because of when her birthday falls in the school year.

It has been such a pleasure getting to do this with her and it is a joy to see how quickly she picks up concepts.

Another granddaughter came along last summer and I am looking forward to being able to teach her in a few years as well.
