Dec. 3, 2008 - Yada yada, blah blah, whatever, I verra much dislike titles sometimes.

YAY!  I AM NOT SICK ANYMORE AND NOAH DID NOT GET SICK!  PRAISE THE LORD!

So, I am not sick anymore,but I still feel a little dizzyish and sickish. (are they even words?)  But, I felt well enough to go get a Christmas tree!  We went to a petting zoo,much fun.  Noah kept running around saying *ahem* yelling "Goots! (goats) Bunny!  Cows!  Moo!" He is such a cutie-pie!  Mum took lots av pictures,I will post them ASAP.

Nov. 30, 2008 - Noah is home.... for now.

I am so sorry to have not updated more often,I have been quite busy.  Noah is home, but the day after he got back home, Mum and Mary Faith both got the stomach flu.

Not good.

Esp. because if Noah gets the stomach flu, it could kill him.  It would at least land him back in the hospital for several days.  Mum is doing better,and Mary Faith is too, but yesterday David got sick.  Couple av hours later,Sarah gets sick.  Early this morning, I get sick.  Later on this morning,Timothy and Matthew get sick.  AND, on Tuesday is Sarah's 6th birthday!

*sigh*  Alright, God,you have a reason for this.  I give it up to you.  Just, please, don't let Noah get sick unless it's your will!!

Please be praying for Noah.

On the bright side, last night I got to talk to HSB member AriannaJoy!  It was so cool!  And, we are going to meet each other!!!  Soon!

Nov. 16, 2008 - *sigh* MUST I think av a title?

Well,Noah got back from the hospital a couple av days ago.  BUT.....here is the update Mum had to put on her blog today:

"We are on our way to the hospital with Noah, who is being admitted.  He's running a high fever with sudden onset and looks terrible.  He seemed fine at church this morning.

My dad, stepmom, and aunt were on their way from Florida to visit us.  I had to call them when they were just 4 hours away and let them know they would need to turn back.

Jeff's parents, who usually keep the boys, are in Florida on vacation.  We were still at church when Noah crashed and a precious friend has taken the boys to their house for the duration of Noah's stay.  The girls will be here.

I want to kick and scream and throw something.  I want to cry like all of my children are crying.  I can't even tell you how much I was looking forward to seeing my family and spending time with my dad.  He's fighting cancer and it's hard for him to get up to SC (and impossible for us to get to Pensacola.)  I miss him.

I  know God is at work.  I'm just not sure that right this particular minute I'm doing a good job of letting Him work in ME. 

OK, real time update.  Sarah, who has been crying and despairing, just bounced past me singing a joyful  little made-up tune . . .  "I love God, God is my hope, God is my life,God is my strength, God is my heart, God is my God, God loves me, God is my joy . . . Noah is a miracle, Noah is God's, Don't go God - please kill those germs, God is my hope, God is the strength of my hope!"

 Message received.

Guess what?  My family and I went apple picking at Skytop mountain in NC!  I will be posting pictures soon. I had SO much fun!  Two of my good friends, Sharon and Annie, came with me and we had the best time ever.  We must have picked a million apples (well, it felt like a million apples).  Skytop mountain also has a petting zoo, a gift shop, and a bamboo forest. (much fun!)  Noah had the time of his life picking (and eating) apples. He kept running around saying "Apoos!" (apples)"hut dat Hannee??" (what's that Hannah.) and "eat!"  Sounds like he had fun!

Noah needs prayers!!  I am just gonna copy me Mum's post...
"Noah's hematologist called a couple of days ago and the current plan is for a direct admission to 5E first thing Monday morning.  The big change is that after further thought, she is not crazy about her original plan of the bone marrow aspiration and biopsy - she does not feel at this time that the possible benefit is worth the risk.  These aren't really risky procedures per se, but any time you mess with Noah you run the risk of unforseen consequences.  Add to that the fact that the procedures mean extra time under sedation and she feels better about putting these studies off at least for now. I'm fine with this - the hematologist seems extremely competent and I appreciate the fact that she chose to hold back on a painful procedure instead of using a shotgun approach!

As it stands, Noah will get his transfusion and IVIG while in the hospital, and the hematologist was going to coordinate with neurology and nephrology to get the brain MRI and the kidney scan done.  The only possible obstacle would be with the PICU.  Noah needs an intensivist (PICU doctor) to administer his sedation and stay with him the entire time he is under.  This intensivist calls the shots as far as sedation goes and may or may not feel comfortable sedating him two days in a row.  Please pray that these tests can be done safely AND expediently!  We are also going to have surgery look at Noah's broviac. The cuff is out and I need to be reassured that the line is safe."

so, Noah is gonna go to the hospital for a couple of days...which means I'm in charge!!! GAA!! On second thought ya'll, pray for me too.

"Silver Thread: A Short Story-bye Ellie also known as Horsewings

As a girl of three, Amberle Austin's mother was dying. Her father was giving her to the orphonage, and he was going away to live with his sister. All three of her brother and sisters were living with other family members, but no one wanted Amberle. Great sadness came over her and she vowed a life of silence.

Six years later, when Amberle was nine, she was still living in the orphonage. She shared a room with an out going girl, who usally threw parties in the small room. But shy Amberle, silent Amberle, would sit in a corner, reading or writing. One day, as she was coming down the long stair case, a mistress came to her.

"Dear, dear, Amberle, your father is coming back for you in a matter of weeks" said Mistress Allie.

Amberle looked shocked, how could her father leave her for all these years, then one day just come back? She was even getting used to this place! 

"Isn't is great? Amberle, your father will be so proud of you, making it through all these years. But, why don't you talk to him? Amberle, please, start talking." Long ago, when Amberle first came to the orphonage, the mistress' tried to get her to talk in every way they could. But Amberle gave up. Soon, they gave up there efforts and execpted Amberle. To ask Amberle to talk was a big thing.

Amberle shook her head. She would not talk for the people who accepted her, she will not talk for her father, who got rid of her. She didn't have a right to, even if it were her family. All Amberle could do know was wait untill the day her father came.

One day, when Amberle was sitting on her bed writing in her journal a car pulled up in the orphonage drive way. It was always a very special day when a car pulled up; one of the girls would get to be taken to a home. Everyones hair had to be brushed and they had to put on there finest clothes and practice there manners. Amberle included. As she hurried down the stairs she spotted a gruff looking man walked in the door. He had three kids trailing behinde him. He talked breifly to Mistress Halie, the head misstress and walked passed everyone to Amberle.

"Amberle, is that...you?" he asked weakly. The other girls gasped. Amberle was shocked. This was her father? A gruff man. Then the kids must be her siblings. Lidia, Robert, and Katie, dear Katie. Amberle nodded. Here father looked at her. "How have you been here?" he asked. Amberle didn't answer. She couldn't! Not to this man!

Her father shot a look at Mistress Halie. "Is my child deph?" he bellowed. "Or mute? Can she understand me? What have you done?"

"Sir, Amberle has not talked since the day she came here. She has not talked on her birthday, Christmas, or any other day. I am sorry to give you dissopointment." Mistress Halie said. Her voice held a shiver, and she looked with pleading eyes at Amberle. But Amberle would not talk.

After a week at her new home Amberle began to receive gifts from her siblings and father to get her to talk. New books, a real pen, dolls. All she acepted greatfully, but with all she would not talk. One day, her father took her into her room and pulled out some thread. It was pure silver. "Amberle, I would like you to have this. I would like you to sew a quilt that shows your story of the orphonage. Such kindness filled her heart up, but she still would not speak.

So she sewed a quilt, and each patch meant a diffrent place in her life. She sewed the orphonage, the girls who were her playmates, the Mistress' and her new home. When she was finished with it. She relized there was a squre left. She thought about what she could make, and relized, with tears brimming in her, it could be a heart, because of the love her father had showed her. Taking her to the orphonage was the best he could do. Getting her back after six years was even better, and the gift of the silver thread, the best of all! She quietly sewed in a heart and took her creation downstairs.

As she did, she rememberd how to talk. Her tounge came to her and she said "Father, I love you."

O.K, I woke up this morning with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and my chest really hurts.  In other words, I feel HORRIBLE.  I will update about Will's party as soon as I feel better, I am so sorry, but I feel to bad to update any more.  Oh, before I go, as soon as I feel better I will start my story blog.

Oct. 13, 2008 - Happy Birthday William!

Today, my little brother William turned 14!!!  *Confetti flies all over blog while crowd cheers*  

William is the second oldest in our family, and very special to me.  He is my knight in shining armor, he is my hero, he is my best pal, my "escort" whenever we go out, my "body guard" (LOL), the best kitchen sweeper in the whole world, and my little brother that is almost as tall as me!  

William is the kind of brother that is always willing to get/give hugs, listen to what I have to say, is always there for me, loves to "save me" AKA step on bugs (where I live we have giant cockroaches. *Shudder*), is willing to tell me his secrets/dreams/hopes for the future, loves to joke around with me, and is just one of the best brothers a gal could wish  for!!! 

I love you William!!!  You rule!!!  Keep up the good work!!!

I will be posting pictures of the birthday boy later!

Oct. 11, 2008 - I have lost my mind. (I think.)

O.K, first of all, I am sorry that the last post was more than a little weird.  You see, I am writing a story.  Not only that, but my characters have taken over the story, and the other night they decided that they wanted to take over the blog also!   Well, they won't get it with out a fight! *in the background* "So it's a fight you want?"  Me: " You don't scare me Peter!"  Ha.  Just because all my characters are no taller than my middle finger does not mean they do not have a lot of spunk!  (FYI, the reason they are so small is because otherwise they would not fit in the book LOL.) 

Anyway, here is a summary of the story:

"In the land of Evernoor, Evil has taken over.  Queen Arianna and her newborn daughter Elsa are banished to the Otherworld by Arianna's insanely evil half-brother Lucifer and his right hand man Striker.  Arianna's Elf husband, Beorn, disappears ,and their son Thaddeus is held captive by Lucifer.  Lucifer then uses his evil power to turn the City Of Man's greatest warriors into evil creatures known as Darkriders who ride through the country seeking to kill and terrorize those who dare oppose Lucifer and Striker.

London, England.  When newlyweds Peter and Elisabeth find out that Elisabeth is unable to have children, they after much prayer, decide to adopt a little girl.  That little girl turns out to be Elsa.  After the adoption Peter and Elisabeth are surprised to be visited by Elsa's mother Arianna.  After explaining to the amazed couple who she is and why she put Elsa up for adoption, they agree to raise Elsa as one of their own until she is 15yo.  Then Elsa will have to return to Evernoor to destroy evil once and for all!

Evernoor, 10 years later.   12yo Thaddeus has just learned that his uncle plans to turn him into a Darkrider.  Fleeing the castle, he runs into the mysterious Adonai.  Adonai takes Thaddeus to Mosa, leader of the Elves.  Thaddeus lives with the Elves until he is 15, then he goes to search for his father until Elsa returns.  Mosa agrees to help Thaddeus search, and with him is his daughter Nyda, and Josiah, a young man from the City of Men, and Josiah's younger sister Sarai.  Josiah and Sarai's father was turned into a Darkrider when Sarai was just a newborn baby."

What happens next?  Are Peter and Elisabeth faithful in their promise to Arianna? And why did Arianna decide to put Elsa up for adoption anyway?  Does Thaddeus find his father before it's to late?  Just who is this mysterious Adonai?  Are Josiah and Sarai able to help their father?  To find out, just leave a comment!  If I get  enough comments then, as I write them, I will put the chapters from my story on the blog.  (Or start a new blog just for the story)  Remember, If I don't think enough people read the blog, then I will write the story, but not one word of it will go on this blog.  *Evil grin*

Oct. 9, 2008 - Warning: this post may not make ANY sense at all. Sorry about that.

Here is what Mom wrote on her blog about Noah:

"When we got to the ER last night we were not able to see an attending surgeon.  The resident was very nice, but it was a bit unnerving that he was in Noah's ER room Sunday watching the broviac repair for the FIRST time ever . . . . which meant that the surgeon and I had exactly the same amount of experience doing these repairs - we had each watched it done one time.  Ugh.  Anyway, it isn't rocket science and he did fine.  He messed up the first time and there was a bit of a tizzy when a second kit couldn't be found.  They said they usually only keep two on hand and Noah used them both up in a matter of three days!  Another kit was finally located and the line was repaired.  We got home about 3:30 this morning.

That is the good news.  The more frustrating news is that this line will break again.  It isn't a matter of if but when and where.  We don't want Noah to need a new line.  We don't want to lose this established line, put him through the risks, pain, and trauma of surgery, and be one line closer to his last possible line.

We also don't want to see him walking around like a time-bomb.  I KNOW that he is in God's hands and that God is Noah's shield and his safety, but right now I'm afraid - truly afraid - that Noah will catch and snap this line when no one is looking.  We've come close to losing Noah before, but never in such an acute, emergent way as last night and I am still shaken.

Add to this my frustration (see - I'm being honest LOL) that Noah is about to have to turn around and be admitted AGAIN for a transfusion, and it all adds up to a bruised and hurting mommy.  We are seeing our fantastic beloved family doctor this afternoon and will seek his council.  I'm also making an appointment to see our regular surgeon.  Our home nurse (who is amazing) is very concerned about the line and felt that it should have been replaced.  I don't see the surgeon being willing to do it while it is still working - and I don't want it to be replaced.  I don't want a weak repaired line either.  They say it's a woman's perogative to change her mind, and I'm doing a pretty efficient job of exercising my perogative right now!

In my heart I know that it goes down the double-mindedness that James wrote about so long ago.  I hate being tossed about and I'm trying to find my footing - my Solid Rock.  I know that my very complex emotions are making everything harder right now.  I'm having to make the choice every moment today to walk in the TRUTH, not in the way that I feel.

I will update when we have information.  Thank you all more than I can say for your prayers and outpouring of love and concern.

Oct. 8, 2008 - EMERGENCY!!!

My little brother Noah just had to go to the hospital, here is the update my Mom just posted on her blog: 

"Noah's broviac just snapped off where it was repaired Sunday.  We tried to control the bleeding with hemostats twice but both times the pressure caused the line to rupture above the hemostats.  We were getting ready to call an ambulance when I found a way to get a secure clamp on the line.  Praise God we were both right there when the line snapped.  It only would have taken a few minutes for Noah to bleed to death.

We are both uneasy with the idea of the line being repaired again.  Noah's nurse doesn't think it can be safely repaired.  We are heading to the ER as soon as we finish getting the boys down - they are very worried and Jeff wants to pray with them before we leave.  I believe he will end up needing a new line. 

Please go before the Lord to ask for clear wisdom.  We don't like the idea of a new line, but I'm frankly very frightened of another repair that could give way with no one watching.  We try to watch him all of the time.  Even watching him wasn't enough to keep him from getting his line caught on the desk leg - he took one more step and snapped the line.  God was so good to spare my baby's life.  He was right here with us and Jeff looked up right as the line snapped.  The Lord is good and mercies endure to all generations.

We will update when we can.

Also Noah's hemoglobin(red blood cells) was down to 9.6 Monday (down from 10 Friday).  He almost certainly needs a transfusion now.

BTW, a broviac is a tube that goes in to Noah chest to help keep him alive.

Hi everyone! 
My Mom just updated Noah's blog: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/ourquiverfull/ .  I am so sorry I have not updated in awhile, I have been very busy with homeschooling, etc.

I thought it would be fun to, once a month, post a discussion question.  In other words, I post a question and you leave a comment with your reply to the question.  Sound fun?  Good, here is this months question.

"If you could be any character from any movie, who would you be?"  (Oh, and it is O.K to list more than one character, but you can only list one if you want to.)

Here is my reply: I would like to be Arwen, from Lord of the Rings, or Susan from Narnia:The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Oct. 4, 2008 - Dancing guy!

O.K, this is too cute.  Noah has just gotten back from the hospital and he is in the family room DANCING!
I'm telling you what, he is to cute for his own good!  He is so happy! (And cute)  I am so happy that he is feeling well enough to be silly and dance.  I was talking to Mom tonight, and she said if Noah had gotten any sicker, we would have lost him.

Oct. 4, 2008 - Greeting in the name of Christ!

I am Hannah Grace Estes. I am a 15yo living in Greenwood,SC.  Greenwood is a very small town.  Small as in "don't sneeze, you might blow it off the map".   I am the oldest of 8 kids.  After me comes William, age 13 1/2.  Then Matthew, age 11, Timothy, age 9, David, age 8, Sarah, age 5, Noah, age 2, then, last but not least, Mary Faith, age 8 moths.  Well, that's all for now.
