We lost two of the six kittens that were born in the last three days. They were just a little over two weeks old. The children are all asking me if the Bible says anything about animals going to Heaven. I'm not sure what to say, but in my opinion God made the heaven and the earth and I believe they will go to heaven when they die. It says in Genesis 1:20-26 that God created "the moving creature that hath life and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. In verse 21, "God created the whales and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, ..." I don't want to quote every word, you all know where Genesis is in the Bible, right??? My point for asking is this, because of the recent deaths of our two kittens, my 12 year old neighbor and loving friend is upset because she says her mother told her that since animals have no soul they cannot go to heaven or to the new earth that will come after Jesus returns. I'd love some opinions on this, so please leave me some comments about what you think or where I could find more solid proof in the Bible. Thanks~
I know what you're going through. I don't really have an answer to your question. I've heard different opinions on it, and haven't myself done an extensive study on the topic. All I can do at this point is tell you what I've told my kids. I just tell them that I don't know. That God has things all figured out, and that He doesn't always tell us everything about everything. I tell them that I hope that we'll see Penny again someday, but I just don't know. We just have to trust the Lord with it that He knows what He's doing. That I know that heaven will be a wonderful place, and that I think it would be wonderful if animals were there... but I just don't know. And I let them see that I have peace with the "not knowing." And I acknowledge their sense of loss.
I haven't really studied this out....but Jesus is coming back with white horses. I just don't know what bearing that will have on our pets and their eternal situation. But it does look somewhat promising!
There...all that, and I said nothing at all. How about that...

I ran across your comment on my friend sockmonkey's blog and thought I'd stop by. I've found an interesting article for you concerning pets in Heaven that I hope will be helpful to you:

Have a wonderful day...stop by for a visit when you get the chance!
I made a little change with my Friends List. It's on the left side and to open it just click on the word "Friends" and it pops out! Neat, huh! To close it click on it again! Thank you

Seven Steps to Raising Godly Children
Principle - Impart God's word on your children and live in a way that you are their greatest example of what a Christ-abiding parent should be.
Pattern - Teach your children a pattern of prayer; when to pray, how to pray, and why prayer is important.
Persistence - Don't ever give up...teach your children to always have faith and not to give up when things get hard.
Participation - Our children crave our attention! The way our children see us is the way they'll see God in thier lives.
Praise - Encourage children, praise them when they do something right and help them when they have a hard time.
Prayer - Teach your children to pray and then to TRUST God for the outcome.
Priority - Make God the Head and Heart of your home and let them live with God's desire coming first in your lives.
