In the Nook... I was reading on Lynn's blog about her Family Fun giveaway. I love the familyfun.com internet site. It's full of great ideas and recipes for kids of all ages and adults too. For the contest you have to write a post about what your family does TOGETHER as an activity.
What we do: Lots of times we take off to Lexington and go to the $1.50 movie and spend the afternoon watching a movie and eating popcorn, then we'll go over to Garden Ridge, which is my favorite store in the world and later to The Dollar Tree just to browse. Most of the time we don't buy anything, we like just looking around.
Another thing we do, usually on Friday nights is rent or watch movies we already have...usually the movie is Christian-based or we won't watch it. We also have what we call "junk food night" where we cook pizza rolls, mini egg rolls, have sandwich wraps, chips or crackers and dip and then something to drink. During the summer we love to have a fire in the yard and have smores or roasted hot dogs. We started this fall going camping again which we'd like to continue doing in the years to come.
So, now it's your turn to tell your story. After doing that then go to Lynn's blog and leave her a comment letting her know where it is and you'll be entered to win one of the two subscriptions she has. Contest only goes until November 30.
One of the fun things we do is "Family Joke Night." Every member of the family brings a joke to the table, and during dinner we all tell our jokes. Of course, kids always want to turn it into a contest, so I always laugh very heartilly at my own (weak) jokes and delcare myself the winner. They all protest, but it keeps from anyone's feelings from getting hurt.

I made a little change with my Friends List. It's on the left side and to open it just click on the word "Friends" and it pops out! Neat, huh! To close it click on it again! Thank you

Seven Steps to Raising Godly Children
Principle - Impart God's word on your children and live in a way that you are their greatest example of what a Christ-abiding parent should be.
Pattern - Teach your children a pattern of prayer; when to pray, how to pray, and why prayer is important.
Persistence - Don't ever give up...teach your children to always have faith and not to give up when things get hard.
Participation - Our children crave our attention! The way our children see us is the way they'll see God in thier lives.
Praise - Encourage children, praise them when they do something right and help them when they have a hard time.
Prayer - Teach your children to pray and then to TRUST God for the outcome.
Priority - Make God the Head and Heart of your home and let them live with God's desire coming first in your lives.
