Oh, I love you, I love you too...kiss kiss kiss, hug hug hug...all that mushy stuff. Well, since it's close to Valentines day I thought of doing something valentine-ish, but I'm not really into all the holiday fluff and I know it's all well-meaning and thoughtful for the ones you love. Personally though, I think if that's the ONLY day of the year that we can "politically-correctly" express our love for each other then it stinks! I think everyday should be Valentines day! I can't imagine going one day or a every few hours without telling my husband and daughters that I love them.
So...to get to the point. I think since it's so close that it would be nice for everyone to write a love letter to Jesus and just tell him and the rest of the world what His love means to you and how having been saved by His grace how hard it would be to not have it. I understand that this may be too much of an open forum for some of you and if that's the case then I would like for you to find a song that expresses your love for Jesus...something that expresses truly how YOU feel. You can post the lyrics or the song via youtube.com or godtube.com or any other venue that's out there...I just want this to be a time for us to express openly how we feel about Jesus' love. This doesn't have to be extravagant or spectacular but let's at least give it an honest try.
Here is my love letter to Jesus:
Dear Jesus,
Thank you so much for dying on the cross for me and helping me to realize that I need your love and your presence in my life everyday. I need you through the good times Lord, and I need you through the bad times too. I know I have not always shown how much I love you in public or sometimes in private either, but you forgave me anyway and I love that about you. I can't thank you or love you enough to express how grateful I am to be a mother to two of your children...you saw me worthy enough to carry the name 'Mother' and I will always love you and respect that position! I love you for sending my husband to care for me and my children and I love that you followed through on your word when you said, for every man there is one woman and I am his. I love that you carry me through everything just because I asked for your help and your guidance! I want my love for you to always shine as an example for all those who may not know you yet and for those who may have strayed away from you. For these things I thank you Jesus and I want you to know that I will always love you and follow your direction to the very best of my ability.
I love your letter. So heartfelt.
That's funny, because the assignment for my Homeschool Kids Write blog was to make a Valentine for God. Great minds think alike. LOL I'll be posting my assignment probably Thursday. Thanks again for hosting BFS.
Blessings,
Ginny
Good morning, Nancy! Thank you for stoppy by for a visit. Please tell your daughter she doesn't need to wait until she is finished with school to learn to sign. It would actually be beneficial for her to have some kind of a base now, as it will make it easier for her later on. Also with signing, you are ALWAYS learning! It is such a BEAUTIFUL language!!!!!
This is a good website to go to:
www.aslpro.com
This site is based out of CA I believe, so some signs will be the "CA" slang version. Just like we have "slang words" in different areas we live, sign language is no different.
I wish you daughter much success in her desire to interpret. I LOVE IT!!
Blessings~

BTW - I really am enjoying BFS. Thank you so much for taking this on.
Thank you for the award Nancy! You are too sweet! I got your IM about the RSS feeds. I think I know how to do it! We can chat about it later on when we are both on Yahoo together. I LOVE your clickable friends menu on the leftside! That is awesome!
Wow! You said this was going to be a doozie - I found it difficult to start with, but, once I'd got going, I didn't know when to stop!! A great assignment - and I love your letter!
~Chrissy
Thanks for your comments on my blog, Nancy. It wasn't so much the content of the letter that I couldn't get - just the fact of having to write a letter!! (I'm not the world's best!).
I didn't know that about Josh and his Gran - I just love the words as they have helped me through all the cancer treatments I have been through over the past 11 years. Knowing that Jesus would carry me through made all the difference!!
Well done on the assignments you have set so far - I have enjoyed them (honest!!!).
~Chrissy
Thank you so much for taking over the BFS! You are doing a great job.
I really appreciate it.
I'm going to try and work on my assignment.
I'll be back and post it on Mr. Linky.
In gratitude,
Linda
No worries, Nancy...what a blessing you are in so many ways to so many people. I rather you help someone in person than comment to my blog...don't get me wrong...it's always nice to get a comment, but I totally understand. BTW I've got about 1/2 through the BFS list letting them know we're back in session. Maybe you could have everyone mention it on their blog or maybe they could contact some of the folks that have left comments in the past on their blog-KWIM?
Blessings and thanks again!

Hi, Nancy!! Well, I finally got my assignment posted. This one was very hard for me for some reason. It's not hard for me to tell my husband and my children why I love them, why is it so hard to tell Jesus? I would sit for long periods of time at my computer, trying to find the "RIGHT" words to express my love for Christ. The more I thought, the more frustrated I became, so I just got up and thought about something else. So, I decided to post a music clip and the words instead. But when I went to post it, I just started writing. So, not only did I write my my praise to Jesus, I got to sing them as well!
Thank you for a WONDERFUL assignment, I am eagerly awaiting our next one.
I have seen the blogger friend school several times but thought it was too late to do this but I saw on kympossibles sit that you could still join in so here I am and am excited to see what my first assignment will be. I have decided to wait til the next assignement to start.
I made a little change with my Friends List. It's on the left side and to open it just click on the word "Friends" and it pops out! Neat, huh! To close it click on it again! Thank you

Seven Steps to Raising Godly Children
Principle - Impart God's word on your children and live in a way that you are their greatest example of what a Christ-abiding parent should be.
Pattern - Teach your children a pattern of prayer; when to pray, how to pray, and why prayer is important.
Persistence - Don't ever give up...teach your children to always have faith and not to give up when things get hard.
Participation - Our children crave our attention! The way our children see us is the way they'll see God in thier lives.
Praise - Encourage children, praise them when they do something right and help them when they have a hard time.
Prayer - Teach your children to pray and then to TRUST God for the outcome.
Priority - Make God the Head and Heart of your home and let them live with God's desire coming first in your lives.
