Hullo, everyone. I hope your having a splendid day! I have decided to hold a contest in between posts. It's only one miniature question, and all you have to do is comment if you think you know the answer. Whosoever is the first person with the correct answer, I will award you with a homemade Narnia Smarts Blog Award. How much do you know about Narnia?
The Question: What is Shadowlands?
HINT: It was produced in two different ways.
Comment your answer and I will congradulate the winner on my blog within a week.
Hey! Welcome to HSB! Or do you have another personal blog that I'm totally zoning? ;-) This blog is pretty neat! C.S.Lewis and his Chronicles of Narnia are fascinating indeed. Have you ever read any of his other works? They're all SO good! I can't even pick a favorite!
I'll try to answer this question, and hope I get it right....
The Shadowlands is this world, or any place that is a mere shadow of the real thing. We may love what we see here on earth, and look forward to more of the same in heaven, but it's really the opposite. The things here are mere shadows, or copies of heaven's glories.
The Shadowlands is also a movie about the life of C.S.Lewis, I've heard, although I haven't personally seen it.
hmm, that has a whole bunch of answers.
Shadowlands could be from a Narnian perspective, what Aslan called Old Narnia (or Old Earth, if you will) after everyone went to New Narnia in Aslan's Country. I guess you could say Shadowlands is anyplace outside of Aslan's Country then.
However, Shadowlands is also the name of a play and film (I believe two of them, actually?) based on the relationship of Lewis and his wife--which in turn was made into a book.
"We're free Narnians, Hwin and I, and I suppose, if you're running away to Narnia you want to be one too. In that case Hwin isn't your horse any longer. One might just as well say you're her human."— C.S. Lewis

Well, did I succeed? ;-)
