Hello everyone! I have come now to do a review on the movie Bleak House (the 2005 version) based on the novel by Charles Dickens.

I would not know how accurate the movie is to the book, but my mom has read it, and she says it is as though you are reading the book, but, for the sake of making it a movie, they had to speed and re-arrange some things to make it fit.

Lady Dedlock: "Bored to death with this place, bored to death with my life, bored to death with myself."

Miss Flite: "He will have his reward on the Day of Judgement."
This Movie Is About:
The movie is about the court case of Jarndyce and Jarndyce. The case is about a man called Jarndyce who wrote many wills before his death. Nothing had been done to settle it, and the case ran for many years. Then two new wards come into the case, Ada Clare and Richard Carstone. Esther Summerson has been asked to accompany Ada along the way to Bleak House, where John Jarndyce lives, who has promised to be all three of their guardian.
Positive Comments On This Movie:
~The characters are wonderfully thought out, and quite complex.
~Many of the characters, character's backrounds, and conflicts come together, which makes this movie very compelling to watch.
~Each episode(there are 15 episodes) leaves you off at a place that makes you want to know what happens; it keeps you wanting to watch it.
~The ending is very satisfying, everything works out.
Negitive Comments On This Movie:
~No complaints
Things You Might Want To Watch Out For In This Movie:
~One of the characters, many years before the story begins, had a baby before she was married
~VERY VERY VERY Mild language
~Drinking
~A very quick, gruesome part of someone who died in a fire
~Quite a few deaths, no blood shown at death
~One man is addicted to opium
And just so you know, the movie is very long, approximately 7 hours and 45 minutes long, but it is split up into 15 episodes, making it easier to watch.
My Opinion:
I think the movie is absolutely genius, I love how the plot and characters are so complex, it keeps you guessing what is going to happen. It is also very enjoyable to make a guess yourself about what is going to happen next, or who did what. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
Okay, I hope you are interested in watching this movie! I am planning on writing more reviews later.
God Bless,
