Okay, here are some parts of my journal entries while I was in Tennessee to give you an idea of how it went...

(I'll insert myself for clarity in red, and make boy's first initial in blue, and girl's in pink.)

7/9/09

Dear Journal,

We're here in TN! The car ride was really great, Emma, Jessica, and I were in one car, and the other 4 were in the other. (My family and best friend's family were traveling together) In our car, the two main things we were doing were watching The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and talking. When we passed through the mountains, it was amazing, I had to stare out the window. At one point, we were in the clouds!

Now we are in the dorm rooms. (The camp was taking place on a college campus.) They are...very dirty, but we've wiped almost all of it down, so it's SORT OF ok. Tonight is the AMB concert! (The Annie Moses Band were televising a concert, and we went to see it.)

7/10/09

Dear Journal,

I have had SO much fun today! Well, for starters, we met two of our Homeschool Blogger friends (writer4him and fiddler4him), it was really neat, they are so nice! After the lunch/orientation, I was going to do the drama track. I was rather nervous at first, but I eventually got over it. The teacher is really great, and I like the plans she has for us. I'm really tired, so I'll write tomorrow.

7/11/09

Dear Journal,

Another good day! In drama, we did mostly improvization(sp?). The first thing we did was pair up in twos. Then, the teacher gave us a general idea for a skit, and we had to develop it. She gave me and the girl I was working with an idea about a rich lady and a maid, and the maid had a problem. The first time around, I was the maid, who was a princess in hiding, and the other girl was the lady. My character was sort of a normal person, and I am NOT good at acting normal people, so I flopped big time.

But the second time around, we had to switch characters, and do a different plot(with the same general idea though). This time, the maid was a spy, and the lady was counterfuting(and the maid got shot, MUAHAHAHAHA!) Well, the lady was very overdone, and I am good at crazy overdone characters, so I did MUCH better!

Then, we practised saying the same lines with different inflections. After that, we had to pretend as though we were selling something(I had to do a Stainless Steel Magic Cleaner thingy). Then, we went over and choose the commercials we would do for the performance (At the end of the week, each track would give a smaller performance than the big one at the very end, and in the drama, everyone would have a commercial and a monolouge to do.).

The last thing we did was "won" and "Oscar", and had to say an acceptance speech.

7/12/09

Dear Journal,

Boy, this was a fun but tiring day. First, for the Sunday sermon, a man came out predending to be George Macdonald and gave one of Macdonald's sermons, it was great!

Then we had lunch and went to our classes. I didn't do much in drama, just went over some theatrical terms and reviewed the commercials we were given. After dinner, we played tag with J and O.

Then, a man organized a time for everyone at the camp to play all sorts of games! We played so many fun things! I blacked out for 1/2 a second on one game though, but it wasn't that bad.

7/13/09

Dear Journal,

Hectic, but fun day! I listened to the kids doing Pennywhistle Park(the younger devision of campers, the ones who were age 3-10) kids sing. Afterwards, I went to drama and we reviewed the commercials. I didn't have a long lunch, because the cafeteria was FULL of soccer players!

When I went back to drama we all got our monolouges! I got a monolouge from the movie "All About Eve".

After that, some boys, my friends, sisters, and I were playing Sardines in the lobby of the building. When Hailey, L, and N were hiding, L made a little noise. Hearing the noise, J and another boy came running. They ran into each other and the boy hit a corner and got a BIG gash in his cheek. It was bleeding badly, but no stitches were needed.

When we went to dinner soon after, we didn't have much of an appitite, so we blamed J for that. We played games tonight again.

7/16/09

Dear Journal,

Dadzy's (my dad) here! Yay! Pennywhistle Park is tomorrow, the String's performance on Saturday, the Drama and Piano on Sunday, along with the Musical Theatre Arts and Jazz Band. My monolouge is fine, I need to work on hand jestures though. I REALLY wish I had a longer monolouge though. The drama teacher gave each of us two duo skits to do, I enjoyed doing them. I NEED to work on my posture, it is atrotious.(sp?)

7/17/09

Dear Journal,

I went to see the Pennywhistle Park performance, it was the cutest thing! V did great!

7/18/09

Dear Journal,

Busy day! After devotions, all the drama peoples did their rehersal, and it went very well! After lunch, I listened to Jessica's choir practice. Then, I went to watch Pennywhistle Park again. When they were telling the Easter story, the fire alarm went off! There was no fire, but it was startling. Mrs. Robin (who is part of the Annie Moses Band) said the fire alarm went off on just that part in the rehersal, and on the first performance, at just that part, the mics weren't working! L said it was as though Satan didn't want anyone to here the Good News! After Pennywhistle Park, I went to the other building to see the Strings' performance, it was great fun to watch!

7/19/09

Dear Journal,

What a fun day! Mrs. Robin did a great sermon. After lunch, I went to the theatre for an other rehersal. The performance went wonderfully, I don't think I could have done any better, and the pianos and Peanuts' skits were really good.

Then, a few hours later, the jazz band, singers, and dancers did their performance, lots of fun! A little while after it was over, the floor was cleared off and we were taught how to swing dance, it was alot of fun!

7/20/09

Dear Journal,

Today was very good again! After re-orientation, Annie told me to go to choir, because drama wouldn't meet today. Choir went very well, I think I picked up the songs rather quickly. We went to the dorm for lunch today, and will be for the rest of the time we're here. After that was more choir. After our Taco Bell dinner, we played in the courtyard. For an hour or so, we watched National Treasure.

7/21/09

Dear Journal,

Alot more things are going on now! Drama is back on! When we went back to the dorm, we were out in the courtyard with some boys and one boy kicked a ball onto the roof! We finished up the first National Treasure, and then started watching the second one.

7/22/09

Dear Journal,

Good day today! I got a narration in drama about some gypsy guy named Django Reinhardt, and even though it isn't a very fun peice, it is what I was given, and I will do it to the best of my ability, because God gave me a gift, and I want to use it to show everyone that I love Him, and that He is so great and awesome! Choir went fine, but I don't know THAT many words or notes!

7/23/09

Dear Journal,

I got alot of signatures on my FASA t-shirt today, and DADZY'S HERE AGAIN!!!

7/24/09

Dear Journal,

We rehersed for the final performance for a while. It went well, but backstage is SO loud, and it shouldn't be.

7/25/09

Dear Journal,

Good Good day! We had the first recital, it went wonderfully, I said my narration as good as I could get it! Let's just see how the one that is going to be filmed will go.

7/26/09

Dear Journal,

This is probably one of the most bitter-sweet days of my life. We had the last performance today. This morning, Hailey lost her FASA t-shirt. I looked in my bag, and THOUGHT it wasn't there. Well, later, I needed a signature, so I ran to get my shirt from my bag, and grabbed Hailey's!

The first time I did my narration, I. stunk. alot. I was tearing backstage, I felt like I didn't do it for God. Well, at the end, someone was hiccuping, so we had to re-film the Celtic part through Limehouse Blues, the song right after my narration! God was looking out for me, that is the greatest miracle I could have wished for! I was so excited, I did it for God, and whacked that narration out of the park!

The goodbye's from everyone were SO sad, I'll miss everyone and every place!

So, there you have it, my trip to Nashville!

Blessings,

 Taylor

Aww, awesome camp memories reading that...I'm so glad you journaled, even without internet!!

Just for the record, I thought your first narration Sunday night was just fine. I'm sorry you weren't happy with it...and glad you got to do it over! :-D

It was so cool meeting y'all--too bad the drama and strings track are separate so often. :-P Oh well...fun nonetheless!
