Jul. 14, 2007 - An unwelcome guest
So, I sat down here at the computer to search the web for a good buy on a stethoscope...and maybe an otoscope to, but that is beside the point.
All is quiet - a rare occurence in a home of 4 kids under the age of 6! But, true for the moment. There I am, surfing the web, enjoying the stillness, and I start hearing this small sound... It's a strange sound, first I think it's ruffling paper. Maybe the air conditioning blowing a corner of paper here - I have many lists, reminders, etc, hanging around!
But a closer listen reveals something a little different. It sounds like chewing! Something is here at my desk, making a nice snack out of something papery....only l haven't found what paper, and certainly haven't located the something yet. It has a heafty appetite, though, whatever it is. Because it's been snacking off and on for the 20-some minutes I've been sitting here trying to figure out where it is! LOL I guess my desk is due for a little organization/cleaning...but there are just too many other things to do that demand greater priority.
So, I don't know, maybe it will be easier to locate after it's gained some weight from all it's snacking!?! We shall see...
Reminds me of the time I kept hearing fluttering in the laundry room and finally convinced dad and my dear husband to pull the dryer away from the wall... Sure enough, there was a bird stuck in the dryer vent, it had come in from the cold and couldn't get back out... A day later, there was another!! What an excitement that was...
