Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Dec. 18, 2007 - Sick of Sickness

What a day.

I am just so overwhelmed by life today.  N is struggling so much in his health.  He only has about 10 foods he can eat, and some of those he won't eat because he's just tired of it.  Well, imagine eating the same 10 foods every day for a whole year?  You'd be tired of it too, and you'd probably be in poor health as well.

The last few days we were without his supplemental formula (Neocate Jr).  Our insurance does not cover it, and at a pharmacy it's about $30 a can (which lasts 3-4 days).  So we buy it on ebay ().  We can't even afford that, but there it is.  Anyway, Sunday he started smelling 'fruity'.  Yesterday he did too, and I began to think Type 1 diabetes.  It runs in my family, and if you already have chronic illnesses, you are even more pre-disposed to it.  But his formula came yesterday afternoon, so he got some protein in the afternoon that he hadn't gotten the few days before.  This morning the fruity smell is gone, so I guess it was just all the fruit/carbs without the protein to buffer it.  ??  I don't know.  We are seeing a new pediatrician tomorrow, so I will ask.

Also, my girls have been fighting this bug for 2-3 weeks now...I've lost track of time on it.  Ever heard of a "throwing up only in the middle of the night, acting fine during the day, turning into such violent diarrhea that they can't make it to the toilet in time, dragging on for 2 weeks or more" bug??  Me either, but that's what it's been.  I am trying to give them immune boosting supplements, but it just doesn't seem to be helping.  The older of the two, M (5), has lost weight the last few weeks.  She's definitely had it worse than R (3), and it shows.

Now A (7) started with some head congestion, but I've been letting him play out in the snow.  He just can't resist and I don't want to slow him down.  But his cough this morning told me I need to.    He worked for almost 4 hours yesterday building an awesome snow fort (hopefully pics coming soon).

All that, and I still need to get the calendars done that I give as christmas presents.  I think today is the last day to get them in time for christmas (and that's WITH expedited shipping).  I do not have a single picture of all five kids together and I'd really like to get atleast ONE!  Today??  Probably not gonna happen, but I haven't given up hope yet.

Tired and overwhelmed,

Lindsay

yikes we had it too.. can you throw open all the windows and change the air in your house.. or take everyone outside to get some real air..

Nothing seemed to work, we tried Colloidal silver and garlic and oil of oregano.. and then antibiotics.. and then we just waited.. none of that stuff we tried worked. Onion poultice helped keep the chest clear for a good night's sleep, but it didn't heal

Oh, I am so sorry. That is miserable. We were all sick for about a month with a virus. It was miserable. I am worried that my son is also struggling with diabetes. I was on a stupid diet called the Weigh Down were there were no bad foods while I was pregnant. The philosophy was all wrong. I bought into it and became diabetic in my last months of pregnancy (I had only became diabetic when I did the diet not when I was before it as they tested me)..Anyway, I am also worried about my son being diabetic. If you find any great links or info. please come visit me.

Father, please heal this family quickly. Please bring someone across their path to help them and give them an extra hand during this time. Please move on the hearts of those around this family. Have someone bring them so hot soup and helping hands. In Jesus name.
