Jul. 9, 2007 - Why we don't like Disney characters:
- They have bad attitudes.
- They don't obey their parents (IF they have any parents, usually they do not)
- They do not promote modesty (they destroy it, actually), encouraging a preoccupation with the body and physical beauty, where we prefer to encourage a focus on a sunny disposition and virtues and character.
- They promote romance in young girls, where we prefer to cultivate the relationship with Christ, the family, the parents until the late teen years.
(I don't have time to add more to this list, so I'll leave it as is and hopefully add more later...)
I'm adding another button to my sidebar for Moms for Modesty. I've seen it elsewhere, and have long-time agreed with it, but feel it's something I want to stand on my blog.

Moms for Modesty Mission Statement
- As a Mom for Modesty I believe in common-sense modesty for girls and young women.
- I believe in refraining from sexualizing our girls and young women.
- I believe that it is unwise and unfair to taunt boys and young men by permitting my daughter(s) to dress in an immodest manner.
- I believe that true beauty comes from within and I strive to teach my daughter(s) this truth.
- I will loyally shop at retailers that provide girls’ and young womens clothing that is modest, affordable and stylish.

Jun. 8, 2007 - Don't comprimise for political gain
When we are talking about politics, the general population of the Body of Christ has been fooled into thinking the Republican Party is on our side. We’ve been taught and trained by the majority of our Christian pro-life leaders that we have to compromise our morals and values, or else we have no say. We have to give a little here and there in order to get the ‘right’ people in office who will do what we want and then we’ll have victory. DON’T BUY INTO IT ANYMORE!! We can use all the tools at our disposal that are morally honoring to God , but it’s not okay to compromise on God’s enduring commands (the moral code of the Bible) in some kind of political strategy.
Think back to the Book of Daniel. Daniel was involved in politics - he was the governor over 40 provinces in all of Babylon, a huge empire.
He was about to be appointed to be governor over the entire empire (120 provinces in all), but the king was manipulated into passing a wicked law...
Daniel was politically astute - he knew what good he could do if he were governor over everything. He knew he could comply with this law, this is just a small compromise. There was nothing in God’s laws requiring him to pray out loud; he didn’t have to pray visibly. He thought, "I’m not even doing anything immoral. I can just pray to God in my heart. Then I’ll still get to be governor over all the kingdom, and think of all the good I will do!" So he dishonored God in the smallest way, and what happened?
OH, *Wait a minute* - that’s not how the story goes, that’s not how the Bible records that historical account. Daniel didn’t dishonor God. He wasn’t required by any command of God - he didn’t have to pray publicly, but he did. He’s a governor, remember. Imagine he lived in a mansion on the royal court. He opened his windows and audibly prayed to the God of Israel! Why?? Because we must obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29). Daniel openly violated the command of man. Did that mean he could lose the upcoming election, so to speak? It meant more than that - he could lose his life! In fact, that was what was about to happen, but did he? No, because God so loved Daniel. Because Daniel was willing to risk everything.
What does it mean to risk everything? In order to honor and obey God, we should be willing to risk political power, and willing to risk our reputation among men. Because men will think you are backward and a fool if you honor God instead of being politically sophisticated. Had that been today, Daniel would have been accused of not being politically sophisticated. But even though men dishonored him, God honored Daniel and eventually gave to Daniel the prophecy of the timing of the coming of the messiah! And Daniel's place in God’s history among men is guaranteed for all eternity future. Because he honored God rather than men.
The Body of Christ, is being trained by Christian leaders, through the pro-life movement, to dishonor God - obey man rather than God. To compromise and be ashamed of the gospel of Christ by never calling for judges who fear God and will protect the innocent, but only calling for judges who ‘follow process’, and ‘original intent’; those who are ‘not judicial activist’, who are ‘strict constructionists’. The same kinds of judges who gave us the Dred Scott Decision; who sentenced Dred Scott back into slavery because they were ‘upholding the constitution’. We as Americans look back on that moment in our history with shame, knowing it was wrong. But the philosophy that led to that ruling is exactly the same philosophy of far too many of our pro-life Christian leaders - Focus on the Family, National Right to Life, Americans United for Life, pastors, elders, friends and family - when they defend judges who make Godless, immoral, wicked decisions because they’re following process and precedent.
The first and foremost precedent to follow - YOU SHALL NOT MURDER (Exodus 20:13...along with all the other enduring commands of God).

May. 5, 2007 - More on the PBA Ban...
I am writing again concerning the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, which was upheld by the Supreme Court just over a week ago. I am sure by now you’ve heard the praises of this ruling by many Christian pro-life ministries, pastors, elders, friends, family, Christian radio programs, etc. The misinformation is overwhelming. I am not accusing these Christians/pro-lifers of lying, but I am saying they are misinformed, have not actually read the ruling and are making public comments from a stance of ignorance.
I am asking everyone, again, to open the eyes of your heart and mind, and read for yourself what is this ruling actually says. If you will merely read the summary of the ruling, you do not even have to actually read the whole ruling, you will see that there is nothing praise-worthy about it. You will come away heart-broken, dismayed and angered. I challenge you to find anything righteous or just about this ruling concerning the life of the unborn child - you will not.
For the actual ruling:
http://www.supremecourtus.gov/opinions/06pdf/05-380.pdf
For a Summary and analysis:
http://www.covenantnews.com/enyart070424.htm
For video of Ambassador Alan Keyes on the ruling:
http://coloradorighttolife.org/
Here is just a taste of what this ruling says, and these are direct quotes:
* p. 17 III (A): ...the Act's definition of partial-birth abortion requires the fetus to be delivered "until... in the case of breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother."
* p. 18 III (A): If a living fetus is delivered past the critical point by accident or inadvertence, the Act is inapplicable. ...no crime has occurred.
* "Find... Less Shocking Methods": The justices of the 5-to-4 majority, all of whom were appointed by Ronald Reagan, George Bush, or George W. Bush, namely, Kennedy, Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito, rendered a ruling that has no moral component whatsoever and is merely regulatory. On page 30 at Section IV (A), these men optimistically suggest that, "The medical profession, furthermore, may find different and less shocking methods to abort the fetus in the second trimester, thereby accommodating legislative demand."
(Back to my own words)...
These justices basically conclude that Partial Birth Abortion looks bad for the abortionist, and they actually suggest the abortionists find other, better, ways to kill the unborn child. They are concerned with protecting the abortionists, NOT the child. This is not even a Partial Birth Abortion ban, it is a Partial Birth Abortion manual - an instruction manual for how to kill the child and have the abortionist come off looking more humane. This ruling has merely pushed the crime of child-killing, back into the darkness of the womb, where it will be out of public eye, and therefore less of an issue to pro-lifers. This ruling also points out the tragic fact that the Partial Birth Abortion, is, in reality, less brutal - less painful and quicker - than the more common and now legally-preferred D & E (dilation and extraction), which involves a :physician pulling a ‘substantial portion' of a still living fetus, say, an arm or leg, [out] prior to the death of the fetus." D & E is basically pulling the unborn child limb from limb! Then for the purpose of this current opinion, Kennedy, Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito ruled that, "the removal of a small portion [such as ‘of a still living fetus, say, an arm or leg,' first pulled outside of the mother, as far as up to the navel] of the fetus is not prohibited." Further, if the abortionist’s intent was to kill the child before it came out past the navel, but the baby came out too quickly, it is not a crime for him to then perform a Partial Birth Abortion, according to this ruling! - All the murdering doctor has to do is say, "Whoops, came out too fast".
No, my dear friends and family, this is not a pro-LIFE ruling, not in the least.
Now that you are informed, I am asking you to act:
Please pray for Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church and the other ministries who are drafting an open letter to Dr. James Dobson to run in the Colorado Springs Telegraph-Gazette (the hometown paper of Focus on the Family's headquarters). Bob plans to fed-ex the letter to Dr. Dobson in advance of placing the ad, to give him a chance to reconsider his support for such an evil ruling. For those that don’t know, Dr. Dobson, many years ago publicly announced his commitment to "never vote for another politician who would vote to kill even one innocent child," and yet, now, he is publicly praising this evil ruling. His public repentance would do more for the pro-life movement than thousands of activists!! If you are in agreement, please consider calling 800-8Enyart and join Bob by donating to help underwrite this crucial newspaper ad!
To hear part of the draft of this letter, use this link:

You can also donate online to this cause via this link:
http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/bel/Detail?no=32
Please act on this information. If you cannot, or will not, donate to this effort, at least pass this email on to other pro-lifers that you know. Tell your pastors, elders, friends and family. Let’s get the fight against abortion back on the right path.
