Dec. 23, 2009 - Merry Christmas From the Littles! - Wordless Wednesday

Dec. 22, 2009 - weather experiments
Today we made a thermometer..

We then put our thermometer in ice water and then hot water to gauge the temp..

in cold water the temp does not rise but in the hot water it does..
we then made a cloud in a bottle..

Our cloud in a bottle experiment didn't come out so well but condensation formed on the inside of the bottle which was a good thing in and of itself for the children to see as part of our water cycle and heat versus cold and their effect on our weather patterns, etc..
Dec. 22, 2009 - Merry Christmas!
I am really enjoying our time off but I am just not ready for Christmas. Part of it is that money has been really tight this year and I have had to wait for funds to become available to finish up our shopping- which I just did tonight. We are working on paying off some bills- this will take us 2 years to do. Plus we have SO many things that are due to renew in December- both of our RN licenses (mine has to be renewed every 2 years & Kenton's annually- both in December), 3 of our vehicles tags are due this month, and a bunch of unimportant little things (Photobucket, XM radio, etc.) but still add up. PLUS we have THREE December birthdays. Yep, December's a tough month around here ($$) even without Christmas.
So I still have wrapping to do. I would like to bake/make a few more things plus I need to finish up what I'd already started. Yesterday I made a bunch of sugar cookies and gingerbread men. We need to get those frosted. I would like to make caramels and chocolate mint bars too.
I am hoping the calendars I ordered as gifts will get here before Christmas. If not, it's my own fault. I had my calendar all made and ready to go except for the December layout pages. I was waiting for the time to take some recent, Christmas-y pictures for the December layout. I just got those taken on the 15th (of DECEMBER!). I finished up the calendars and ordered them that night. Supposedly they are to arrive on the 23rd. I hope they do! We have made calendars for our parents and grandmas for I don't know how many years now and they have come to expect them. I have warned them that they might not be here by Christmas though.
I doubt I'll be on here again before Christmas so I'll wish you an early MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Here are some of the pictures I took last week.
My Siah. I love this boy. He is going to turn 5 (FIVE!) the day after Christmas. Why do children have to grow so quickly?

Yes, this is the best group shot I got. I do not like taking group shots so as long as I get eye contact, I'm done.

My handsome 8 year old, Gabe.

This sweet baby girl has brought us so much happiness and joy. She is truly a blessing from God.

I mean, really, who couldn't love a face like this? :)

I love her cheesy grin.

My beautiful girlies.

Sassy Sisters.

Millie and her own made-up pose. Sweet though.

Better than a fake smile.

This young lady is going to make the BEST mother someday.

Alek is SO MUCH MORE cooperative with pictures when it's JUST HIM. I love his serious look- because that's him!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
