Show and Tell Friday

Posted in Home Comforts

It's Show and Tell Friday!  Visit Canadagirl for details and links to other participating blogs.

Guess what is a family favorite at my house and great for letting little hands help?

PIZZA!

1 T. yeast

2 1/2 cups organic white whole wheat flour (or a mixture of all-purpose and whole wheat)

1 tsp. sea salt

1 tsp. Rapadura

2 T. organic extra virgin olive oil

3/4 cup warm water

Mix all together into a dough and let sit for 30 minutes.  Punch down dough and roll out on a pizza stone.  Top with organic tomato sauce, seasonings (we like genovese basil or Italian seasoning), organic mozzarella cheese and anything else you wish.  Bake at 425* for 20 to 22 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Thank you for the comment on my blog.
Very nice looking pizza. Your recipe is very similar to mine. I do love rapadura. One can buy rapadura blocks everywhere in the state i was at in Brazil. I love it shredded on yogurt.

That looks like a professionally made pizza. It looks scrumptious, and my stomach is growling because I haven't had breakfast yet!

Mmm, your pizza looks delicious. I'm going to have to mark your recipe down : ) I have been searching for rapadura but haven't been able to find it yet. The nourishing traditions cookbook calls for it in lots of recipes but for some reason no one has heard of it around here :(
Have a blessed day and weekend!

I've never heard of "rapadura" (did I spell that right?) before. I will look for that and try this recipe sometime. Thank you!

Yum! What a perfect looking pizza! If I wasn't so full from supper, I'd be right over for a piece. I had never heard of Rapadura before either - I will have to ask my Brazilian blogger friend if she knows about it - she must.
Thanks for visiting my blog today. I LOVE the Alantic coast of FL. My family lived in Fern Park (near Orlando) when I was 13 (for a short while) and then I moved to Coral Springs/Ft. Lauderdale as a single for a couple of years. And then we did the Daytona/Orlando thing as a family this past spring. Would love to live there again someday but my dh loves the cold weather. (sigh). lol Have a good evening! Blessings!

We make homemade pizza in our home as well. In fact, that's one of the meals we're planning on having this week. Thanks for your comment on my blog! I visit Valerie's blog. I'll have to go back and check the Weblink Wednesday's and see if I can find the link you were talking about.
Have a wonderful day!
