The next section I want to suggest for any household notebook is budgeting. This could be a simple handwritten form that you make yourself, a quick spreadsheet you create, or you may wish to use a ready-made printable form. Several of those can be found online...

I also suggest starting a freedom account if you do not already have one. An explanation of freedom accounts can be found here. This is a very handy way to be prepared for all those expenses that come up throughout the year ... auto insurance, clothing purchases, Christmas and birthday gifts, pet expenses, auto tag fees, professional licensing fees and other work-related expenses, vacations, medical/dental/optical expenses, auto maintenance and repairs, life insurance, etc. Our personal freedom account is just one lump sum on paper so I also keep an individual sheet of paper for each category in my budget section. This makes it easy for me to keep a running tally of any additions or expenditures from each category and is helpful in providing a yearly overview to see if any freedom account withholding amounts need to be higher or lower when the next year rolls around.
Stay tuned ... there is one last installment coming soon! |
