It is the time of year for Scholastic book fairs. They offer thousands of titles, all at 50% off. There will be two in Nebraska. The warehouse sale will be going on in La Vista, and there is also a community book sale at Roper Elementary in Lincoln. Click here for more information. If you live near the state border, you might check out neighboring states and see if those are closer for you.
Also, you can order books from Scholastic. Their market is schools, but homeschoolers can register with them and then are able to order. I monitor their sales once in a while and got a fantastic book about quilting and children's literature for only a dollar!
