Aug. 18, 2008 - it works! it works!
I used the Times Tales with my DS today. I was skeptical, but it DOES WORK! It was so amazing to see him finally 'get it'. I am really impressed with whoever came up with this method. Of course, the real test will be for the days to come to see just how well he has retained the information, but I believe he's got it for good. woo hooo!
He was so excited about that he wanted to show it to his sister. Also, he just had to call his dad and let him know that he knew his times tables now! Again I say - woo hoo!

This is great news! Sounds like it works well and it works fast too!! Do they have these for addition and subtraction facts too? We still have to think about those a LOT and don't have them memorized with the speed we need.

I don't know about the addition/subtraction. Times Tales claimes that the child will learn the upper times tables in an hour, and that's exactly what happened! In fact, I think it was less than an hour. It really is great.

Mow that he has those down, show him how the 3 numbers make a family. Then when h goes to do simple division; just ask hom who is mising. It really does work. Leena
