Sep. 22, 2008 - We've already had six weeks of school

It seems like I was just whining to you all about how tough our first week of school was.  Now it's been SIX weeks already?  WOW! Where did the time go?  Next week we will be taking our fall break.  I'm so looking forward to it.  We plan on going to camping up at David Crockett State Park in TN.  We drove up there Saturday afternoon to check it out.  It is beautiful.  We saw a dozen or more deer within 100 yards of us!  It was very exciting.  DD was thrilled.  She absolutely loves animals.  So, we are all looking forward to going up there for several days.  Anyone else going to break soon?  If so, whatcha gonna do?

I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a Bible curriculum?  We've finished ours more quickly than I expected, and I'm not sure I want to use what I have on hand.

Well, as usual, thanks for reading.  I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Time does fly doesn't it. We've been using Explorer's Bible Study. It has levels from preschool to adult. It is a Bible study, not a devotional.

By the way, I haven't forgotten your microscope question. I just haven't had time for research.

It is hard to believe that so much time has passed already! We are actually taking a two week break due to my DH's work schedule. He normally takes the same fall break we do, but he'll be gone for business part of that week.

We'll leave Sunday to go to the Smoky Mts. We always enjoy going there and doing family friendly things.

We started school early, so we have enough days to enjoy two weeks off...and we're ready for that break:)

As far as Bible, I visited the local Christian book store and found a really neat Josh McDowell study that goes over the 'basics' of the faith. We have used that along with doing AWANA memory work and reading some Christian books that address issues or topics of interest to us.

We passed by the Davy Crockett park earlier this year. It looked like it would be a fun place to visit.
We are taking a break in October. We are planning to make a quick trip to Birmingham.

Hey,
We live about 35/40 minutes from Davy Crocket park. We took my family there 2 weeks ago when they evacutated to my house from Louisiana for hurricane Gustav. It was a beautiful day and they got to go swimming in the creek. Made some beautiful memories. Have a great time.
Love to you and yours,
Josephine
