I sure wish I knew how to jazz up my blog like all the ones I've been trolling here lately! Someday, i'll take time to learn... Here's an image that I've been hung up on since last summer...I remember specifically when it came to me, driving to the 4H dog show. My oldest dd is very similar to me. I am a "lonely only" and she was an only for 5 years before #2 came along, so we have a lot of traits in common, which can cause some turmoil. Usually due to me not moving forward fast enough--in maturity, in spiritual growth--thus the title of my blog. ANYWAY--here's the image--I love it. My view of her is as if I were running along a picket fence, looking through. I see flashes of someone through the fence, but can't quite get a definite image. Each little flash shows different parts, different angles. I'm not sure what I'm going to find at the end of the fence. but I have hope. Sometimes my view is great--encouraging, sometimes not so great--worrisome, every time changing. She's taller, she's older, she changes. She is beautiful, spinning, smiling, turning away. But I have hope, His hope, that when I reach the end of the "fence" she will be a glorious creation. I will have had a tiny part in it, but truly it'sexciting to watch. If I can focus on Him and not on me. Whenever we slog through a tough day, I remember that fence. What I see today is just a blip, or even less. One of those little slivers of view through the fence. Not anywhere near the whole picture. I'll look back and these years will have slipped through my hands.
Who am I that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name? Would care to feel my hurt? Who am I that the bright and morning star would choose to light the way of my ever-wandering heart? Not because of who I am but because of what you've done. Not because of what I've done, but because of who you are. I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean. A vapor in the wind. Still you hear me when I'm calling. Lord, you catch me when I'm falling and you tell me who I am...I am yours. I am yours. Casting Crowns
