I won!

Hey--I'm "random blogger of the week" at HSB!  Hooowee!  How fun is that?? I bet I'll get a special private audience with Paul and Gena! ;)  I'd better go sweep the front porch and get the chickens back in their yard!  Them publishers from TN wouldn't be impressed with a chicken on the picnic table.

Actually folks--as we skid into August, we're looking forward to the State Fair.  I want to go to the balloon glow, the night before the Fair opens and #1 is in a spinning competition "Sheep to Shawl" and she's modelling her historic costume for my mom's sewing guild.   Sooooo, I might get more than one corn dog and funnel cake.  We didn't try last years' fair food--deep fried snicker bars or deep-fried twinkies, so we might go for that this year.  Hubby liked the bunny brats at our county fair---eeeewwww.  I liked lamb kabobs until there was a sheep tied at the railing where you stood to order.  I told the owner that was REALLY bad for marketing.

I do have the recipe for Lemon Shake-ups and it's super simple.  At $3/cup at the fair, it's getting a little steep.  I'd better get some stuff on Ebay.

Aug. 18, 2007 - Lemon Shake-Ups Recipe

Posted by PBHeartSchool

Aren't they just 10 parts water and 5 parts sugar to 1 part lemon? LOL We do enjoy them at the county fair, so if you could post the recipe, that would be great. [I'll add you to my friends list ;).] This year, we bought just two for the whole family to split; we discovered that you can add one to two cups of water after their liquid runs out and it still tastes pretty good.
