Gratefulness, Continued!

Posted in Family

I had intended to post yesterday about MY sweet husband, but other things came up!

I am so grateful to still have him with me, as five years ago, I could very easily have lost him.

I am grateful for his hard work to provide for us.

I am grateful for his quiet, steadiness, and that he is so many times my rock.

I am grateful that he is such a good listener.

I am especially grateful that he has never raised his voice at me---in 26 years of marriage.

I am grateful that he has been so patient with me as I continue to "grow up".

I love you, Dallas!!!

(Note the cool bow tie the girls made him?!     )

(And note how we are a very REAL family by the background?!   LOL!)

Thank you to all who are posting and entering the giveaway!  I love to hear your grateful comments!

Here are a few challenges that you might be interested in from Revive Our Hearts (Nancy Leigh DeMoss)-- note the FIRST TWO at the top of the list are a Gratitude Challenge and a Husband Encouragement Challenge!

You get an e-mail for each day with a challenge.   Small, bite sized pieces, but meaty pieces!

I love Nancy Leigh DeMoss, because, as I like to say, she gets Christianity down where "the rubber meets the road"!

I hope you will take advantage of one or both of these challenges....and some of the things you are to be grateful for for your husband might just prompt you for what you can write in your journal!

Blessings!

I love the laundry basket in the background! Mine's always out and full. People come to my house and wonder what's missing when I put it away....

That is a wonderful testimony of the Lord's care of your DH and you! What happened? The car looks so horribly damaged, it truly is a miracle of the Lord that your DH is all right.

You have a real gem of a DH. Those are some amazing praises you wrote about him. I'm so happy for you both! You are an inspiration to me!

Oh, Trisch---that vehicle just makes me want to grab you and hug REAL hard!!! God carries us, does He not??

LOVED The laundry in the background!! Like another commentor---if people didn't see 1 or 2 baskets sitting in my living room waiting to be folded they would think it VERY strange!!

Nov. 8, 2009 - The Accident

Posted by Mama9blessings
On October 19, 2004, a man who was on cocaine and marijuana blew through a country stop sign, hitting my husband and sending him literally bouncing along the road. He sustained a major head injury (broke through both walls of the frontal sinus). This was just 3 1/2 weeks before our 8th child was due!

Although he was only in the hospital 2 1/2 weeks (they predicted at least a month--power of prayer!), it was a l-o-n-g one! He was in a hospital 1 1/2 hours from our home. A good, dear neighbor friend stayed with my girls for emotional support and to field calls and visitors.

I could write a book about the Providence of God--His care and provision during that time--let alone my husband's healing!

He does still have headaches and some dizzy spells, but as you can see from the pictures--I am sooooo very blessed to still have him with me! Even emergency personnel who were at the scene later told my dh, "It didn't look good."

It was a long year emotionally for me, during his full recovery, but many prayers and God's grace sustained me!

"Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

"And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing."

Psalm 107:21-22

AMEN!
