I thought I would post an Introduction of sorts and date it AHEAD so it is always the first post you read when coming to my Blog. So here goes:
I am a homeschooling working mom of 4 amazing children. We started homeschooling in 2003 when we lived in Italy and named our school Casa Luce Homeschool which is Italian for Light House (or House Light if you want to be LITERAL).
For fun (and a little $) I teach Wilton Method Cake decorating at two local craft stores. I also run an in home family daycare called Kingdom Kids. These two jobs give me a unique perspective on the world and I love sharing about our experiences online!
Our two oldest children have blogs as well casaluceprincess and casalucetomazo, they don't blog much but I am working on changing that.
We currently live in Virginia and LOVE to explore all the awesome historical places around the state.
I have loads of interests and hobbies including: blogging & other computer stuff, sewing, photography (with real film and all), gardening, pottery (as in clay and a wheel not paint 'n go), crochet (can't knit a stitch), cake decorating, bread baking, frugal living (although I fell off the wagon a while back, we are climbing back on), scrap booking, art history and more.
Although we use Switched on Schoolhouse our homeschool is eclectic with a shifting focus toward Charlotte Mason and Ambelside Online. We are changing slowly to Math-U-See and pulling away from the computer programs.
I am re-doing this blog and moving things to several other blogs. This blog will focus on daily life, news, company and product reviews and of course my unbridled opinions about world events. A great BIG THANKS to Ally of Mission Field Designs for helping me organize and pretty up this blog, she is AWESOME. If you need help with your blog go see her!
My other Blogs include:
Spreading the Spark is all about my experience with Spark People. A Free online diet, nutrition and exercise community that is helping me shed 80 pounds (as directed by my persistent doctor). I share my favorite articles, recipes and more on this blog.
This fall I will be launching Our 50 Great States unit study through a blog.
I will be adding to this entry, so come by often and be sure to leave a comment to say HI! |
