Honeybees (fuzzy golden brown body) sting once & die. Scrape the
stinger out so as to not release more venom. Bumblebees, wasps &
hornets can zap you repeatedly, as can yellow jackets--but when their
venom sac releases, it incites other yellow jackets to attack, too.
Here are home remedies that have helped other folks with bee stings:
1) alka-seltzer--wet (aspirin, baking soda & fizz--all help)
2) activated charcoal--wetted (draws out venom)
3) apple cider vinegar (stops pain)
4) ammonia (stinks but may stop pain)
5) baking soda (neutralizes venom)
6) cold pack or ice (reduces swelling)
7) fresh leaves (tannic acid in crushed leaves can help)
8) meat tenderizer--wet (enzymes break down venom)
9) onion slice--tape on (draws out and reduces inflammation)
10) red clay mud (draws out venom) |
