Once upon a time I had a beautiful baby boy. He was my sweety-pie. My little bundle of joy. My squermy-wormy. My Mocachino. Now that was five years ago. Today, my sweet baby joined the ranks of the big kids. It really does seem like yesterday that we had to make a difficult choice to forever be bound to sergical births.
Unlike the birth of my first son who was an emergency C-section. Micah was going to be our VBAC. After 11 hour of my water being broken and no real contractions the other Dr. in my Dr.'s practice (our Dr. wasn't on call) asked us to decide weather we would do a C-section or give me Pitocine (a drug that I had a sever reaction to in my 1st labor). He said he felt uncomfortable about giving me the drug but left it up to us. Long story short... we decided on the C-section.
A few minutes later I was holding my beautiful, but very purple little boy. The cord had been wrapped around his neck twice . The Dr. didn't know this. The nurses of course didn't know this. But God did and in his mercy he stayed my body's natural tendency.
So with a big smile and a happy heart we celebrate God's beautiful blessing to us. |
