2007 Homeschool: Week Nine

This week Josiah learned about, more countable & uncountable nouns, forming plural nouns, Latin astr/stell root words, Weather, and Math review. He read "The End"by Lemony Snicket, as well as, 5 hours of free reading. He's enjoying swim lessons to some extent. He did winsprins and push-ups. He also rode his bike He preformed his life skills. 

He took some assessment tests:  (Placement by grade if mastered)

K12 Beginning Phonics Placement Assessment, 102/102

(Grade 1)

K12 Advanced Phonics Placement Assessment, 74/74 

(Grade 2)

K12 Reading Placement Assessment #1, 25/25

(Grade 2)

K12 Reading Placement Assessment #2 Part A, 25/25

(Grade 3)

K12 Reading Placement Assessment #2 Part B, 16/16

(Grade 3)

He will continue assessments on Monday.

This week Micah learned about days of the week and months of the year, the Ancient Assyrians, Scorpions, and reviewed math. He read "Rooster's Off to See the World", as well as, 2 1/2 hours of free reading, and did winsprints, played soccer and did push-ups. He also rode his bike. He preformed his life skills without complaint.

He took some assessment tests:

K12 Beginning Phonics Placement Assessment, 90/102

(Grade 1)

K12 Advanced Phonics Placement Assessment, 59/74

(He did not reach Mastery Score)

This week Zechariah learned about the letter "J", began working through Letter of the Week Activity Box. He listened to "Rooster's Off to See the World", as well as, 1 hours of read-alouds. He walked winsprints and laughed at push-ups. He also rode his bike. He preformed his life skills.

This week Selah grabbed a toy and chewed on it. She pinched her brother and drooled on the kittens. She fell asleep in my arms.

I cracked up when you said the baby drooled on the kittens and pinched someone! Too funny.....

assesments so early? It is for placement in the k-12 curriculum? I dont know much about it, thats why I ask!

Praying for another good week next week! Till them... or maybe before *Ü*
