Free Bible Lessons for my son....

yeah but are there any that agree with Torah?

I came across this earlier:

FREE snail mail Bible lessons for ALL ages (adults inc)

http://www.childtel.org/free.htm (just sent for this)
OR
http://www.mailboxclub.com/ (my youngest does this - awesome)

L

and I replied

hope it is ok to be honest but I was letting my son do the mailbox club ones ((which the other site listed also uses the same in the mail lessons)) .... but it was all about solar day and xmess and ishtar ...

read the first 5 books of the Bible

Sabbath= friday at sundown to saturday at sundown
it's not xmess but rather Feast of Tabernacles when our Messiah was born
it's not ishtar but rather Passover when our Messiah was offered

again hope it's ok to be completely honest.

Just a few things I've been learning in my late 20's ... I know many are still caught up in the lies started many centuries ago...but ask a first century Believer and you'll learn many things.

Shalom,
Swylv

I know there's Torah Tots and Akhlah and http://ffoz.org/

I'm also wanting to check into

I know it's no longer 12/25 season but....

I'm sick and tired of hook line and sink her believing lies that the furch (church) promotes.  I'm sick and tired of people putting down catholic doctrines and yet embracing their "christchunizing" of pagan celebrations.  I'm sick and tired of people saying "we are free from the law" because they just told me they are practicing iniquity or lawlessness ......

WAKE UP STOP SLEEPING we've fallen asleep and I hear the alarm ringing will you wake up with me?

Praying about

#1 - Husband to welcome Yeshua and lead this family in the ways of Yah and continued divine favor at work

#2 - Son to grow in the wisdom and stature and admonition of Yeshua realizing that relationship is of utmost importance and to turn into obedience of his parents as well and learn to read and love it

#3 - of course...this old body to work...please more children...I know  You can literally bring an orphan  our way with no hoops to jump through and/or make this body work and birth new life in me

Yeshua You know it's been 5.5 years of this "no ovulating" stuff, You know the tears and heartache, only You know why You are allowing this.  If it's me, if I'm the problem then change me.  If there's something I need to do or not do then show me and help me.  Carry me through and may it come to pass that You restore the years the locusts have eaten and make my womb fruitful.

Thank You Yeshua for caring enough about me and these needs that I can cry out to You.

May Your will be done, Yeshua.

Thank You for all the wonderful things You've provided for me.  Salvation and a handbook for dealing with life in this physical body.  For a husband and son and an apartment and basic needs being met.  Know that I consider myself blessed by You, Yeshua.

Thank You for listening, Yeshua.  I know You are already at work and moving on my behalf.  All Glory and Honor and Praise be unto You, Yeshua my Yah

Amen

Goals for the Next 12 Months

First some background.  I thought there should be four parts to my goals list for 2008 and cover three areas where applicable in each of the four parts.  Let me explain why.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. ((could this be both mind and strength...possibly....a smooshed word, remember that taking 2 words and melding them into one?))

Mark 12:29-30

29And Yeshua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

((and you thought Yeshua was all about the new only))

Renew - Soul - Spiritual

For Yeshua - Praise HIM and Thank HIM Daily

For Others - pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) Pray for the peace of
                      Jerusalem: they shall
prosper that love thee.

Personal - Read through the WORD chronologically, Continue with weekly Torah,
Haftarah, and Brit  Hadasha readings, and read one to three
                   TorahClass lessons per week

Redo - Heart - Relational

For Yeshua - donate food to the food pantry and donate to any charity HE lays on
                       my heart

For Others - Love on DH more, snuggle and play with DS more, be less 'real' with
other family members (vague talk, no more casting my pearls before
                     swine),
and deepen friendships  with like minded Believers

Revise - Strength - Projects/Physical Goals

For Yeshua - a clutter free and company ready apartment so I can minister and be
hospitable to whomever HE sends our way

For Others - a routine in placed and used so the home is a place of calm and
                      order  for DH & DS

Personal - Eat healthier ((bye bye white sugar)) and cardio workout 3 times per
week and strength train 2 times per week in order to be fit and ready to
                   serve Yah however HE leads

Reflect - Mind - knowledge/intellect

For Yeshua - attend a Messianic Seminary and finish Volume II by Charlotte
Mason to be better equipped to home educate the precious boy HE
has entrusted to us to raise

For Others - Finish Year 1 and Start Year 2 alongside DS  ((we do it together so he
doesn't feel even more of the only child syndrome))

Personal - land an accounting related career that can mostly be done from my
                   home

Of Interest

I guess an author named A Coulter has really stuck her foot in her mouth.

excerpted from ffozblog

To me, it is a scary thought that Christians like Coulter still believe that Judaism is a religion of legalism by which people must earn their way into heaven where as Christianity is a religion with no requirements. It’s a scary thought that Christians like Coulter consider their greatest gifts to Jews to be freedom from keeping the Torah and practicing Judaism—a process she refers to as “perfecting” them. (I know what she thinks she means, but if she would like to be a perfected Christian, maybe she should consider starting to practice Judaism in imitation of Christ.) The really scary part is that Christians like Coulter are allowed to speak on national television as if they actually know what the New Testament says.

Coulter says that Christians are on the fast track. They don’t have to obey. This is very different from what the Messiah says. Yeshua says, “Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter” (Matthew 7:21). Perhaps Coulter would be surprised that Jesus would say something so unchristian. But then again--He was Jew too--wasn’t He.

What we will be discussing tonight at HavDalah (and yes I know it may not be the actual ending of Shabbat due to the lunar/solar thing but this is when these people have invited us into their home, let's not be rude)

Chayei Sarah - çéé ùøä : "Life of Sarah"
Torah : Genesis 23:1-25:18
Haftarah : I Kings 1:1-31
Gospel : Matthew 11-12

In our culture, we believe that a person should marry whoever he or she falls in love with. This is a bad plan. It is possible to fall in love with the wrong person. It is possible to fall in love with many wrong persons. Falling in love is a terrible criteria upon which to base a marriage.

This teaches that God appoints each person’s a spouse. Some people call this appointed person a soul mate.

So don’t waste time trying to find your soul mate. She/he does not exist and will not exist until you get married. Once you are married, you can be confident that your spouse is your true bashert.

Everyone remembers the matchmaker from the movie Fiddler on the Roof. (I watched this just last night) A matchmaker is called a shadkan (ùøëï). A person with a special talent for matchmaking is referred to as a shadkan,......The responsibility of making matches is so important and so difficult that the rabbis claimed that God Himself has been occupied with the matter ever since creation.

Sukkot, Law, and Humor

the thing about law as promised:

I learned recently that the book of John is the most Jewish of the gospels, pretty cool. Just because it was written in greek (actually aramaic which is a slang form of Hebrew) doesn't make what YHWH told the Israelites obsolete...

that's like saying the consitution gives us freedom to do whatever we want...yes but it's the freedom to do what's right....do not violate someone elses freedom or break the constitution because then it's no longer your "freedom" ... same thing with the ten commandments....no we can't keep them apart from Yeshua and we needed them to show us we were sinners, because I know many people who tell me they are good people or at least not as bad as so and so, but sin is sin and the commandments show us this and Yeshua even furthered that it's not just the act of sinning but even the thought of sinning that makes us sinners ... but through HIS mercy/lovingkindness we don't get something we do deserve which is death because Romans 6:23 tells us the wages of sin is death...and by Yeshua's grace/favor we do get something we don't deserve - the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord as the rest of Romans 6:23 tells us. We have HIS grace and HE didn't break even one commandment and not just the 10 but also the whole 613 that are in the first 5 books of the Bible. Of course we don't do the sacrificial laws anymore since Yeshua was our once for all sacrifice.

HUMOR

A young boy says to a priest, "is it true that man is made of dirt?"

the priest replies, "Yes we are made from the dust of the earth."

so the boy then says," can you come to my house?  there is a lot of dust under the bed and I'm not sure if it's someone coming or going."

another one:

God went to pharoah and said "I have a commandment for you."  Pharoah says "what's the commandment?"  God replies, "thou shalt not commit adultery."  Pharoah says, "we don't want that commandment."

So God goes to assyria and says the assyrian king, "I have a commandment for you."  the assyrian king asks, "what's the commandment?"  God replies, "thou shalt not commit adultery."  the assyrian king says, "we don't want that commandment."

Then God goes to Moses and tells him HE has a commandment for him.  Moses asks, "well how much does it cost?"  God tells him it is free so Moses says, "I'll take ten."

Sukkot

What I learned tonight in Hebrew Insights from the Gospels regarding Sukkot:

When Yeshua entered Jersulem and the people laid down palm branches and said Hosanna! (the KING has come to save us) they knew in Zechariah chapter 14 it talked of Sukkot as being the time when HE would come and they thought maybe it could happen at another time other than the 7th month, since this was just before Pesach.

I find that very interesting.

Mark 11:23 - For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Yeshua was talking of when HE would split the mount of olives and this mount is to the east of mount moriah.  HE's saying do what you're to do to hasten HIS coming.

the below I received via email from First Fruits of Zion and you can sign up to get weekly Torah portions to read with commentary as well HERE

Torah : Leviticus 22:26–23:44
Haftarah : Zechariah 14
Gospel : Luke 2

The Apostle John uses a verb form of the same Greek word that is used to translate the Hebrew word for “booth” (sukkah) when he wrote, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt [tabernacled] among us.” (John 1:14) He tabernacled among us, and He will tabernacle among us again in the messianic future. The celebration of the Festival of Booths (Sukkot) celebrates the Messiah who once tabernacled among us, now tabernacles within us, and in the future will again tabernacle among us.

The last appointment on God’s Leviticus 23 calendar is the Feast of Booths, a seven-day harvest celebration. The Hebrew name of the festival is Sukkot, a word that means “shelters, stables or huts.” These temporary, tent-like structures are often translated as “tabernacles” in our English Bibles. The festival is so named because Israel is commanded to annually build such dwelling places as a reminder of the post-exodus years when they lived in huts and booths, following God in the wilderness.1 Sukkot is a time of joy and celebration, a time to celebrate the harvest and revel in God’s goodness.

Many beautiful traditions are attached to the annual Festival of Booths. For example, it is traditional to invite guests into one’s booth for a festive meal each night of Sukkot. Among the list of invitees are some auspicious names: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Aaron and David. Each are specially invited to come into the booth and pull up a chair at the table. Obviously, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Aaron and David are unlikely to actually attend the meal, since they are all dead. That, however, is the point of the ritual. The Feast of Booths anticipates the Messianic Age, when the dead will be raised to life again and we will all sit at the table with the aforementioned in the kingdom of heaven.

When Messiah comes, He will bring in the final harvest of God’s kingdom and institute an age of peace and prosperity upon the earth. The prophets relate that day to the festival of Sukkot, a day when every man will sit beneath his own vine and fig tree.2 Isaiah 4:6 tells us that God will spread a tabernacle of glory over Jerusalem.

According to the prophets, the Feast of Booths celebrates a time when all nations will ascend to Jerusalem bearing tribute to King Messiah and celebrating the festival. In that day, all nations will ascend to His throne in Jerusalem in order to celebrate the Festival of Booths (Tabernacles). Obviously, this is a very important festival for disciples of Messiah today.

Sukkot is the great festival, the culmination of all the appointed times. Sukkot is to the other festivals what the Sabbath is to the other six days of the week. As such it is a fitting foreshadowing of that great celebration of creation when the entire world will live in peace and brotherhood under the reign and rule of the righteous Messiah King. Just as the weekly Sabbath foreshadows the millennium, Sukkot also looks forward to that great age. Therefore, the festival of Sukkot, like all the festivals, foreshadows Messiah.

theFIRM and Rosh HaShanah

I have a couple questions to answer....so here goes:

Tiany:  So far I have done theFIRM's workouts for 7 workouts....so far so good....cardio party was a bit tought because I don't dance and it has dance moves to get the heartrate up but I've done it 3 times now and each time I work on mastering a new step....well minus the hip shaking part cuz that throws me off balance...LOL

But I do like them and I'm actually working out so that's a plus.   I haven't done 10 workouts yet to post results....but I did cheat and weigh myself only 1 week in and the scale says I am 5 pounds heavier....but the Q&A booklet said this is normal because you are building muscle under the fat and soon the muscle will kick in and burn the fat off...so maybe by next week I will be under the starting weight....and I didn't measure but I know muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space...so if my clothes start to feel looser than I'll know something is going right!

Beth:  hmmm Rosh HaShanah ... well what I learned first of course is in Leviticus 23

then I also read some posts at xanga.com/anna  see in the column side for Feasts

also http://torahfamily.com/fall.htm

and reading The Feasts of the Lord and A Family Guide to Biblical Holidays

and just a couple of weeks ago in Intro to Jewish Roots class I learned the following:

Leviticus 23:24 - Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

the guy talking this day blew an actual Shofar for us...if you have heard the intro on graftedin.com Shabbat messages then you know the sound I am refering to.

The Shofar is not a musical instrument and it is not the same as a trumpet.  He told us there is no such thing as a Feasts of Trumpets and he said he got that info from a book called Horeb - and that it is not written by a Messianic believer so if you decide to read it then you need to do so with a Messianic filter.

He said that from the time he was 5 years old and up after reading the word trumpet in the Bible he thought it was an important instrument so he learned to play.

As he got older he wondered why it uses the word trumpet....that it's not necessarily wrong..but what does it really mean.

Like keep the Sabbath and remember the Sabbath are both used...do they mean the same....etc.

I. There is a difference between the shofar and the chatzotzarot (silver trumpets)

A. The shofar:

#1- it must be from the horn of a kosher animal; but it cannot be the horn of a bull because of the sad incident involving the golden calf

#2- the first usage of the term shofar is in

Exodus 19:16 & 19 - 16And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.  19And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

In response to the "voice of the shofar" the people shuddered {I have no idea which translation he reads from that says shofar in these verses...I searched at biblegateway and couldn't find one online that uses shofar not trumpet...hrmmm}

this term is used again  in the context of the shofar in I Kings 1:32-53

#3-Shofar has a relationship with the word Shafat and that is the word for "to judge"

#4- Shofar is often mistranslated as trumpet, which in our mind has a different connotation and look. Our concept of trumpet is closer to the term chotzotzarot. {yeah I don't know if he misspelled here I am just typing it as I see it in the handout}

B. The chatzotzarot (the -ot ending lets us know that this is plural because they were blown as a pair):

#1- Read Numbers 10:1-10.  the chatzotzarot are made of hammered silver.

#2- the tekiah (longs blasts) and teruah (short blasts) are listed in the Horeb book pages 136-137  {I wanted to point out that he asked who has a KJV in the room and I was the only one...he asked if those 10 verses mentioned the words long or short...I said no, then he asked for all the other translations in the room and only one, which I didn't catch the name of, had the word short in it.  So he basically said KJV was bogus for not being Hebraic enough, that it was englishized and so have all the other translations been since...uh yeah does anyone have any rebuttal for that?  oh and even the Sterns didn't use short or long in this passage}

#3- They are used in war, 10:9 teruah is used

#4- they are used at the festivals, at Rosh Chodeshim (new moons), over elevation offerings, and festival peace offerings {he pointed out that on our calendar we note a new moon as no moonlight but it really should be that first sliver of light...that there were guys who hung out just waiting to signal that they've seen the new moon so a new month begins....so if it was cloudy, they wouldn't see it....and the first of a month is a break for women...their men wait on them that day...so yeah ladies!}

#5- note: read Horeb pag 140 and the note on page 232

He said the word Iyyer means to count and that month usually falls in our month of may and at that time we are counting the Omer

He also pointed out that the first pair of silver trumpets were destroyed but the ones made after should still be around somewhere they were not suppose to leave the temple {but with all the raids they probably were} and according to tradition these chatzotzarot will be sounded when Yeshua returns.... {so RH anyone!!!}

Forgive me if I am sad ~ I really believed DS would have some siblingS by now.

DS's Faith

Our DS has always been exposed to the Lord and HIS ways.  As soon as he could talk we taught him the song Jesus Loves Me.  He would sing "Jesus Loves Me this I Noah, bible tells me, he be weak and he be strong. Yes Jesus Loves Me the Bible tells me."  that was in the beginning.  Now that he is older He does add words like children and that they are weak but HE is strong.  But he still thinks it says Noah not the word know  LOL

I remember him coming home from Rainbows a little more than a year ago and telling me that Aunt Chelle will ask him where Jesus is and N would respond in my heart.  Over the past year+ we have been attending a small church that meets on Thursday nights and while there are no other kids to play with and no children's programs it was good for ds to be there.  Even if he wasn't sitting at attention as adults do, he still got to hear the Bible teaching/discussion and he sure did like the prayer time.  His Aunt Monica tells of how when we prayed N would repeat "Yes, Jesus and Thank you, Jesus".  :-)

December 14, 2005 - we attended a wake and before and after we left ds asked me to explain what a wake is.  And this led to questions of if the young man who passed on is not in his body then where is he.  I reminded ds about having Jesus in our hearts so when we pass on we can go to be with him.  ( I know some argue that when we die we are just in the ground til resurrection and/or our spirits are in paradise but not heaven, but either way, it's best to make a decision for Jesus when He knocks at our heart's door because there is no chance after we've breathed our last see Luke ch. 16 and even if we just lie there unconcious in the grave we will eventually be raised to life and what a scary moment for those without Jesus)

Ds told me he wanted Jesus in his heart so we prayed and invited HIM in.  And yes he was only 4 yrs and 41/2 months old.  But I know that when I was about 5 or so I heard a sermon on how great heaven is and when they asked who wanted to go I ran to the front.  And I know another gal who told me she was saved when she was 3 during a bible read/prayer time with her dad before going to bed.

On August 1, 2006- dh stubbed his toe and was saying it hurt and I hear ds say, "Jesus heal daddy's boo boo" and dh tells me ds prayed for him to get better the week before also.  I asked ds where he learned that and he said at church.

I know back in April of this year I was getting ready for Sonday pm service and just before I went to the "powder room" ds had asked me yet again when he was going to have a baby brother and I reminded him that Jesus wants to hear him ask because in the past ds would tell me to do the asking.  So while I was refixing my hair/make up, I hear ds say, " Hey Jesus, can I have a baby brother and sister? ok thanks." and he went right on playing.

Sonday Aug 6. we were about to turn the lights out and I told ds he better get to sleep because no lights on all night.  As soon as I turned the light out he says," I'm not afraid of the dark.  Jesus is in my heart and with me." and then he starts singing the veggie tales song 'God is bigger than the boogie man, He's bigger than godzilla or the monsters on tv, oh God is bigger than the boogieman and He's watching out for you and me."

I have VT tapes but they are like 10 years old, and ds likes to watch the where's God when I am scared and Rack Shack and Benny one.  At least some truth is sticking.

Currently reading Buttons to DS because someone at the Year 0 group recommended it

About Me

Charlotte Mason style Home Education Journey with One Dear Son who is praying to be a big brother and soon!

"He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD."-Psalm 113:9

"And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children." Isaiah 54:13

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." --III John verse 4

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. ---Proverbs 4:7

And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD. --I Samuel 2:21

Praise be to YHVH who is weekly bringing those who hunger and thirst for the whole WORD, not just what the church says is important....did you know the first century and then some Believers knew that accepting the Messiah meant being grafted in to the Hebrew faith? They didn't want to be called gentiles. Paul was always trying to show the physical and non-physical Jews that they were all Jews spiritually. He many times said the law is not void and I know those of you out there who say you are saved live by the 10 commandments and of course the summary of Messiah's own words to love YHVH and then our neighbor....both just ways of summing up all of Torah which really just expounds on the TEN. It wasn't until those in authority started saying any caught Judaizing will be put to death that we stopped observing the true Sabbath and stopped keeping the Feasts and started saying things like the NLT says in Ephesians 2:15 that the Jewish law/system has been done away with...that's misleading. The only thing done away with was the animal sacrifice needed to cover sins. Yeshua doesn't just cover them, HE forgives them. What a truly AWESOME YHVH we serve!!! I pray everyone's ears and eyes would be opened to desire to know and seek out the whole TRUTH and not just blindly follow church leaders.

Praise Report:

thankful to have a DH and a DS. my guys!!

Back when I watched my cousins 4th child- Roger - I didn't think I was all that nice to him. But he's seen my and DS's picture at Nanna's and he says "that boy would not share his toys and his mommy told him that is not nice. I like his mommy she was very nice to me"

Prayer:

Unsaved loved ones to find/or to turn back to Yeshua. For Yeshua to reveal to them the truth of Hebrew Roots so we can be in one accord. See I Corinthians 1:10

and if it's not too much to ask...I've had to endure hearing about several pregnancy announcements and birth announcements recently. I feel like I am dying inside. The pain is enormous. I really just want more children and HIS Word says they are the best type of physical blessing. I am not asking for riches or material things. I know all HE has to do is think/speak my body into being a "baby making machine" and it would be done. Praying for a miracle.
