My sister's and I went Christmas caroling last night! We sang We Wish You A Merry Christmas. Jingle Bell's and all the good stuff.

after that we went to a game night and played sherades and drank coffee and hot cocoa. and I also cooked a cake, Mac 'n' cheese and made home made hot cocoa! which was REALLY good!

• Dec. 7, 2009 - Green Christmas's and just what ever else comes to mind.

Posted By Kekoa
I am finally posting! amazing ain't it? Here in KY it doesn't snow very much, sad really. It did snow about 2 centimeters the day before yesterday. I am not looking forward to a green Christmas so my fellow snow lovers please pray for 2 two 3 feet of snow!

The temperature here has been in the 20 degree range, but not that much snow. I like KY a little better then OR but there are no mountains! In OR we had Mt. Hood (11,249) and Mt. Bachelor (9,068) which is pretty big. In KY mountains are hill's compared to OR mountains. It is much greener here tough. In OR we lived in desert landscape so a green humid area is pretty cool!

==What I have been reading==

I have been reading western books by Louis L'Amour for a while now and I have found out that they are really good books to read. (recommended by my old gramps who got my mom started on them and then mom got me started and now I can't stop reading them!) I have also been reading the Inkheart series by Cornelia Funke for the 2nd time.

I don't really have much else to say....my life is uneventful these days.

• Sep. 21, 2009 - Book Review ~ Letter's from Wolfie

Posted By Kekoa

Letter's from Wolfie
is about a dog named Wolfie and his owner Mark. Wolfie is part malamute and part german shepherd. Mark discovers in the newspaper that the Army is looking for german shepherds to go to Vietnam for Scout Dog training.
While Wolfie is in training the man who is handling him writes letters to Mark on Wolfie's behalf.

Mark had decided to send Wolfie to Vietnam for his brother who is in the infantry and for his dad who is very patriotic. Mark thought after the war he would get his dog back, but Capt. Lenz said that all the Scout Dogs where now U.S. equipment and would not be returned. Mark decides to get his and other boys' dogs back from Vietnam. Will anyone help Mark on his quest to save his 4-legged friend?

I liked this story but it isn't one of my favorites. I liked the story Cracker! The Best
Dog in Vietnam
much better!

Hey people!

I'm in kentucky! Well I have been here for about 2 weeks. It's great compared to the desert's of OR. The only bad thing is my asthma is killing me! It didn't in Oregon.

We don't have a house so we are living in our RV. Here is a picture of what me and my 5 other family members may be living in for awhile.

Our RV is 28 ft long and is a SUNSEEKER.Now that dad has a job I have to do all the RV maintenance. We might be getting a house at the begining of sept.

The reason I haven't been posting recently is because I don't have a computer any more!

I have to go and finish school.

• Aug. 1, 2009 - To Co-op or not to Co-op This Year.

Posted By Jenette in Hmmmm
I need to seriously consider the possibility that I want to Co-op because that is a way for me to let someone else step up to the task of discipling and mentoring my girls. And there will be a time for that, but is it now?

I have no special guarantee that any of the mothers teaching there will do better than I

I am essentially thinking of it as fun "free" time that I will be able to legally count as "school hours" .  So much the better if anything is learned or "caught" there.

But what will be caught there, I must stop and ponder.

The Co-op appeals to me because they seem pretty flexible and not sticklers about this and that, but is it that perhaps I should rather seek to be challenged a little more...and my girls also?

Why am I blithely assuming that they will teach these precious girls better than I?

Jimmy asserts that there may be better things to fill our time with if we have the time to do something outside of the home...He mentions acts of service...hmmm, I have often felt the nudge of some things I not only want to do but want to teach my girls to want to do. They are getting to the age that they may truly be a blessing to the lonely, make food for the hungry and make beautiful things for those who are spiritually hungry.  Could it be that while I may be able to work it out to have the freedom to "do Co-op", perhaps I am desiring it because I am not seeing clearly. If we have a free day to do this (and it won't hurt our family or schedule) why not tithe of ourselves and have a day of service instead????

Which brings me to another spot in my thinking that I must consider.
I think that I see this as a way to pacify and please my girls, as if homeschooling were a bitter pill and this the sugar to make up for it.
I want our home-education to be sweet, if it isn't, I need to work to make the adjustments to make it as sweet as my ability is, and they will need to swallow it regardless.
I want them to see that as I teach, it is for them I teach.
It is not a punishment or a 12 year sentence.

And so...
On that "extra" , "expendable" day, I would like to, in love, ask the girls to turn their eyes outward.
This I know from experience that they generally love to do, and I want to nurture that in them.
So Thursday's will be our Day of Service.
I'll even encourage the boys about ways that they can get involved (even if it on a different day from the girls and me).

I can use this time to finally make those regular visits to my Aunt that have had on my hear to make,
and visit grandpa Norm,
and bless others in the church
and out of the church.
Maybe we can even spend some time blessing someone in the church who is always blessing others,
like Janet, and Debbie and countless others.
Oh the possibilities.

What a wise husband (and sons) God has given me.
I think I see the solution now, for me for this year.

This time is precious for me.
I don't know what God has for others, but I can see all of the "things I have been praying to get around to".
"Doing a Co-op" Does not seem to be the thing for me this year.
Maybe it will be another year, but this year I cannot say much about next year.
Except that I will seek God.

Hey dudes!

My Dad has been unemployed for eight months now and has finnaly gotton an interview set up for...soon. ( can't say when...I know when but I can't tell you ahaha! ) Dad has gotten other job responses but none so positive! So Dad is going to kentucky and we are gonna stay home.

We are going to sell the house and hit the road in our class C RV. We have to clean up our house and our five acres....nooo that's gonna take for ever!  seriously. I would really like to move, my sister Bluejane is horse crazy so she is REALLY stoked because Kentucky is the horse capital. We have to get rid of all the animals except our simese cat Mouse. She is going into the RV. I have to get rid of my dog Dolly  though....  I have had her all her life. We have to get rid of Dolly who is 5, Than Ka-Tu our cat who is 14, than our golden retriver Kula who is 2 or 3. That's all I have to say for now but will keep you dudes updated.
