Hunting With my Family
When you get close to game, it is exciting. Hunting isnt only about excitement, it is also about family life. The way hunting affects our lives is by giving us stories and jokes to tell, and quality time together.
In my family part of having fun is joking with one another. My best hunting joke is when we came home from hunting javelina. My grandpa stayed at home and met us when we got back. Grandpa was excited to see what we had. We had to make our faces straight, while we told him we had no luck. Grandpa was disappointed, saying, Youll get one next time. We unpacked, saving the ice chest for last, to show him two javelina inside. Grandpa was surprised, I was happy.
Hunting lets me spend time with my brothers, parents and grandpa. I see my brothers every day. At the hunting lease you can make up new games to play. Not all games are new, some games like hide and seek are fun because the land is big. I think my mom likes sitting and reading in the woods, that makes her happy, and that makes me happy. I can be by myself with my dad while were hunting.
I like hunting with my grandpa. I get to spend time with him and learn from him. Hes also lucky. On October thirty-first, 2004, while I was with him, I shot my first buck, a four point. The time I spend with Grandpa now is memorable because he is sick and may not be around long.
Telling stories, joking and spending time together, this is all part of hunting in my family.
I hope you just read the wining essay, we'll find out affter November 15.
