Some sad news...
I'm sorry to have to tell you all, I am not allowed on the computer for a while now. Something is wrong in my wrist, a nerve or tendon is hurting really bad, and since my aunt had to have surgery because of a similar problem, my mom doesn't want me using my wrist all that much. :( So I won't be on for a while. However, don't let that keep you from commenting on earlier posts...*hint hint*, and I'll still be checking e-mail. So, farewell for now. Oh, and I got some new music...two Celtic songs, and then some LOTR music! Till mom allows me to come back...au revoir! Brigette

One of those days...
Do you ever have one of those days where EVERYTHING seems to go wrong, ad you feel like you just want to go to sleep and wake up in a million years? Well, I did. The first 3/4 of Saturday were miserable. First (conscious) thing to happen was my mother telling me to do the dishes from the night before. Now, my brother was supposed to do them because I did his lunch dishes and my dinner dishes the night before. But my mom forgot that she had said that, and I wasn't willing to give up my rights to a "non-dishes" morning, so because of my stubborn bad attitude I was sent to my room. Well, I sat on my bed, had a good sorry for self cry, and then everything was better. Until darling Isaac came into my room and decided to finish off one of my MOST EXPENSIVE lipgloss tubes. Trust the kid to go for the very one you DON'T want touched... Thankfully I was in time to save my precious lipgloss, and in that case the 4.00$ that went into it. (What money us vain females spend on our "necessities"...just to make our lips shiny. *shakes head* ) Well, that day was just kind of rocky then...we were all a little short as we tried to get all our chores done in time to leave for the long drive to Grandma's and Grandpa's. Finally we were ready to go! We piled into the car, glad for the beautiful weather. And off we went. I had a good time alternating reading and singing along with the radio. Yeah, well, until we got to the highway or freeway, I forget. Anyways, it was one of those long expanses of road that we humans drive our cars on to get places...you know the one :) Guess what happened? Nothing short of a HUGE and I mean HUGE car crash. It was terrible. And as only one lane was open, it took us forever to get to where you could even see the blasted thing. As we were sitting there, moaning the passing time (OK, so I was the only one...) I pulled out my iPod, decided to listen to some good music...play a little Klondike... Let me explain something: my iPod has a mind of her own. Like most women :) . She decides when I can listen to her, and for how long. In short, she enjoys causing me no end of pain by needing to be reset at the worst times. No sooner had I picked it up- screen goes blank. GRRR! I was fit to kill. I tried resetting it like my dad showed me but to no avail. Ha ha. Poor me. So I had to sit in the car, bored to death, listening to The Prairie Home Companion. At least not TOTALLY bored, TPHC is pretty funny, but I wanted music. But eventually we reached Grandma's and Granpa's and my suffering was over. It was a ton of fun to hang out with my two cousins, and my family, who I love even for all their faults :) And we are very excited over the news that my aunt is expecting! We don't know if this baby will make it, but I am praying, and I know so are others in my family. If the baby does live, I'll be fourteen years older than him or her! That's how old my aunt was when my mom had me...funny how those things turn out. Then we had to leave, for the two hour drive back home. It was a nice ride, lot's of rain and romantic music...just the way I like a dark night :) Imagine it, I got in bed and I wasn't tired a bit. My sibs went to sleep ASAP, but I lay there tossing and turning quite dramatically intil past midnight, when I gave up the fight and opened my book. Which I finished around two thirty. After I had nearly cried my eyes out several times...nothing like a good happy cry to make you fall asleep. And I slept well, thank you for asking.
Now, about today. The sermon was great. It was about how you can be lost without knowing it, how you can step out of the Light of God, but then find it again...it was really good. And I have some things to say on it...while he (the pastor) was talking, you'd never guess who came to mind, as he spoke of those who hid their dark deed's in the dark, and came to hate the light because it exposed their evil ways. Can't guess? Smeagol. Or you may know him by his more common name: Gollum. If anyone has seen the beginning of The Return of The King, you'll probably know what I am talking about. You see Smeagol slowly evolve from the pre-Hobbit that he was to the creature we all recognize as Gollum. It is a terrible transformation, the Ring's power on him slowly grows, he loses thought of all else, all he wants is his Precious, the one Ring of Power. In the last scene of him as a pre-Gollum, he is going into a cave and he glares at the world around him...and then disappears into the dark. John 3:19-20 (NKJ) says, "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." I can't help but wonder if J.R.R. Tolkien, being a Christian, used this verse as the inspiration for Smeagol's character.

Instinct to Live, and some random things...
I've been thinking some thoughts on how it seems that everything...no matter how big or small, has the instinct to live. It creates a wonder in my heart, and an awe for God's creation, when I see how even the smallest fish knows that it wants to live. Doesn't it seem strange that animals who do not have places to be, things to do, who live to eat and mate, want to survive? I can understand why people want to live...we have appointments, we have organizations, we have things to do, places to go, things to see...it would seem we have a purpose to live. But when an animal is threatened, it seeks to survive. It will try and fight back, or hide, but it's instinct is to live. That is the factor that will always keep me from believing the theory of Evolution. It seems to me, that if we were accidents, these tiny, seemingly insignificant animals, would not have that instinct to survive. Their purpose would be to exist only so that the next evolutionary "mutation" could come into existence! So why then, why would they have this instinct to LIVE? It's just something I've been thinking about...
Well, the family is finally getting over our cold bout. Abbie had it yesterday, but is now over it, ad mom and Isaac are steadily healing! Thank God! Sadly, we didn't go to Church yesterday, but I had a relaxed day...reading. I finished three books: Queen Margot, which ended so terribly! Henri, King of Navarre, didn't get to rule, thanks to a betrayment, King Charles died from a poisoned book meant for Henri, La Mole, Queen Margot's lover was executed, and she took his head to keep forever...(sick) And the queen-mother triumphed. It was so sad. So now, just to make sure I am not completely prejudiced against Alexandre Dumas, I am going to have to read The Count of Monte Cristo. But I also finished River Secrets by Shannon Hale...Aw, talk about a good book. It was really cute. If you've read Goose Girl by her, you've got to read Enna Burning (very sad, but sweet) and River Secrets. And if you haven't read Goose Girl, I totally recommend it. But it is an "older girl" book, seeing as how the females in the books are teenagers...and they do fall in love. But it's a sweet story. Mmm, oh yeah, and I read The Angels Command by Brian Jacques. Okay, of you don't know who he is, you have to read his books. He wrote the Redwall series (of which I've read every one, except Eualalia, most of them at least FIVE times!!!) and now he has this Angels Command series, about a boy and his dog who were on the Flying Dutchman, which was cursed to never die, and have a terrible existence because their captain cursed God. Unfortunately, Neb (becomes Ben) and Den (becomes Ned) are included in the curse, they can never grow older, and so the Angel commands that they travel the world bringing happiness to it, but they must move on eventually so that their friends don't grow old while they stay young. It's sad! So that's what's been happening over here...sorry my life is so boring! :) Ooo, I remember something exciting, on Wednesday we're going to the Library, and I have eleven items in so far, a ton of books on doctoring, but then I also have the Abram's Daughter's series by Beverly Lewis, Mmhm by Relient K, Last One Picked by Superchick, I think Momentum by TobyMac, and then some other things...hopefully my Nancy Drew game will be in! Ha ha, my friend, I am geting CREATURE OF KAPU CAVE!!! Ha ha ha!!! *evil laugh x a million . He he ho ho!!! Whahahaha!!! Okay, now she's probably jealous so I can stop evilly laughing.
If you haven't already heard these songs, you've GOT to listen to Tattoo by Jordin Sparks (at the bottom of my playlist), Real Life Fairytale by Plumb (somewhere near the top), and In Love With The 80's by Relient K...of course. Alrighty g2g, hopefully I'll have some GOOD news soon! Oh, I'm gonna do this 200 + question thingy on here, just so every one knows!!! TTYL

Can you guys just know that this is an un-subjected post?!?!?!
Well, the week has gone by faster than I expected. As did the sunny days. Let's just hope that tomorrow is a clear day, seeing as how I'll most likely be hacking branches back up the trails in my backyard...aw, well. Now, I realize that most of you who read my last post do not know what my "fangs" are...sorry. They were two pieces of some material stuck to the backs of my two front teeth to keep my upper teeth from biting my lower set of braces off...and now they're OFF!!! Hurray. And I also neglected how to get to Bethany's blog (this is what happens when you multitask peoples!) so I need to fix that! Just find PrimaBallerina in my list of friends, and click on her. That will take you to a blog all things ballet!
I know I said I'd put pictures on here, but sadly, I am no great shakes at things like downsizing pictures...so I will not be able to put my pictures on here until my dear daddy is able to assist me! So if you are disappointed I'm very sorry. I'll try maybe in April. When my dad can help me. So that's my news! I apologize!
I also started a book review blog on this account, the address is www.homeschoolblogger.com/thelibrary. You can go on there and read all about the books I have read. Which is too many! And I might start writing on this site called Apricot Pie. It's a site for homeschoolerd to poat their writings. Isn't it sad that I am finding all these cool sites for homeschoolers...the last year I am being homeschooled?! Ironic...
Ok, that's all I have to say for now...No big news. Sadly. I am going to have to start blogging about issues...which I suppose won't be to bad. Well, g2g, Brit

Ha ha, I am back...ready to torment you all with my boring life!!!
Okay, so it's not that boring. Besides being sick with the flu ( I think) my weekend ROCKED! You would not believe how gorgeous it is here...I am really coming to appreciate the sun, after all this rain. You look out a window, and you see the sun highlighting the hills, turning the dirt a red color. Ah...beautiful. I really do apologize for not blogging sooner, but let me explain why....
Don't ask what I did Friday, I forgot already, because Saturday and Sunday were so much fun.
On Saturday, my great uncle and my grandma called, and decided to come up and visit, my mom and Grandma could visit, and my dad and Uncle Phil would work out in the yard. So we went outside, and began to work in the yard. We took down all the electric fence that the previous owners left us, and it is amazing how BIG our land looks now! You can actually see that there are two acres! Just wait till we get our woods cleared up...anyways, so we were pilling all the trash in the truck, when who shows up but Johnathon! So Adam, Abbie, and I all went over to Fort Poopanoggin (Johnathon named it, but hey, it is a chicken coop!) and hung out over there, and we patted moss down on the bridge they built over the Crick Of Shining Waters. (Get it? My friend and I named it after Anne's Lake Of Shining Waters...) Then, after Abbie had left to play on her DS, Johnathon suggested we go on a hike up the trails in my back yard. Adam and I agreed, so we decided that once John was finished sharpening his stick/javelin/thingy we would go. Well, he was done after about ten minutes, and then he decided to go see if Hannah wanted to come with us. But she was sick. So I suggested Kesler, who was actually here after months, and I had seen (with my own eyes) him arrive the night before. Now believe it or not...Johnathon didn't believe me that Kesler was here. It wasn't until Adam chased him into Ted's yard, and Kes answered the door, that he was able to accept I was telling the truth. (Why do men NEVER listen?!) Kesler did want to come, so we waited until he finished putting his LEGO's away ( i guess he has a...lot.) and we went up. Then Ted came back, and Kes had to go tell him where he was going....to make a long story short, we didn't get walking till midday. But when we did...it is beautiful up there. we went up and up and up, all the way to the trail that goes to my neighbors house. And then my mom called, and said we needed to come home, and help her clean up the house for my grandma and uncle. So we went down through Steve and Beth's, and back to my humble home. And you'd never guess it, but Johnathon and Kes were actually very nice to me the whole hike! (I know, I almost died from shock...KIDDING) They were very gentlemanly...but I think part of it was, Johnathon has been telling Kesler how scary my father is...I guess. Well, we came back, and Adam and I had to go in, but we promised to come back out later. I think that was the fastest I ever cleaned the house, and did my chores. Then my grandma and uncle came, and Kesler and Johnathon were finished risking there necks crossing the river on a rotten log...sorry, I guess I'm a little paranoid...and we all went outside again. And we had a war. Kind of. Kesler brought all his guns, he has three, and we started "shooting" each other. And my little sister, Elise, was very cute. (We made sure not to laugh till she was gone) She came up to me, and said, "Can you tell Kesler what I told you?" and I said, "WHy don't you tell him yourself?" And she said, "...OK." So she walked up to Kesler, looked up at him with her big, brown eyes, and said, "I am going to marry you Kesler." and Kesler looked at me, like, "Did you put her up to this?!" and then back to Elise, and said very nicely, "Aren't I a little to old for you?" and Elise hid behind me. And when she was gone...Oh. My. Word. We laughed until we were literally rolling on the ground...and all thanks to Johnathon. He started it. Well then, guess what happened. I knew Kesler hadn't changed, because the moment my back was turned...I was being poked and tickled all over again. And if you know me, you know my strongest weaknesses are being tickled, and slimy bugs. And then of course, Kesler and Jonathon had to start mimicking everything I said, and making it sound ten times worse...(at least they're over, "You broke the stupid nail-board!" ) and now they have two new phrases to tease me with. ("My hands were in my pockets!", and "Did I do it? Did I do it? Oops, sorry. Well, I did it!" Honestly, do those phrases sound so funny to you?) But we had fun, and even though Johnathon and Adam were compete pills...and even though I was accused of liking Kesler just because I said so what if I did? When Johnathon asked....They are both great friends and neighbors. I'll have to blog about Sunday later, beacuse this took sooo much longer than I thought it would, but I just have to say one thing, I think that because of this weekend, and spending so much time with Kesler and Johnathon and Adam, I have come to appreciate my brothers more. Kesler and Johnathon and Adam are very similar...they tease me, they pretend like they'd be happy if I was dead, but they still helped me climb, and when they knocked me over they helped me up...and even though Adam still does a lot of things that are mean, and obnoxious, I think that I have a better perspective, now that I have four "brothers" instead of two! And I think that maybe I've been spending to much time mourning over the big brother I never had, then appreciating the ones I do. So there's my little bit of philosophy for the week. OK, G2G! Things I've been forgetting!
Wotcher, Peeps!
Okay, I keep meaning to put these little things in here (but, as usual) I always forget! Okay, most important is...I'M FINALLY GETTING MY EARS PIERCED!!! Thanks to Rach!!! I told my dad, I'm like, Rachel's getting her ears pierced...and my dad goes, so? And, I said, so can I get my ears pierced??? And Daddy goes into this long speech about how boys don't get their ears pierced, blah, blah, so I figured OK, forget it. Then my mom said, if I really wanted them pierced, I had to ask my dad! So I puckered up and pulled the "forgotten kiddo" act, (all of my other friends have or are about to have their ears pierced) and he said yes!!! So, hurrah, I am getting my ears pierced! Okay...what was the other thing...(see what I mean?!) Oh shute, I forgot. But I'm going to Bible study w/ my mom today! OH, I REMEMBER! Now, this is a BIG maybe, because I did tell my mom that her songs have some bad words, but my friend Gabriella is possibly going to the Avril Lavigne concert in May (?) and she invited me to go! So, that would be so cool, but tickets are 105$ I believe, and so, yeah...but I have my figers crossed. As a heads up, this blog will be going under construction, as I try and "modify it". Writer4him, if you read this, could you maybe give me some tips on HTML? I'm kind of excited about that. We went to the Library today! (As most of you know, I could LIVE there!) I got some "tester" books, that look Ok...Two I'm freaked about, but that's OK, because I HOPE they are good. They are "Middlemarch" and "Queen Margot", fyi. Both classics. (OH, it's my favorite song...hold on...) Okay...so I am not too bored right now, I have a good sized stack of books on my bed. But I have to admit, most of them are medical. (Hey, I find that stuff interesting!) If you don't know, that is my passion. I am GOING to be a doctor...someday. And I'll go work with witchcraft practicers in Africa, as a missionary. And maybe India. That's my plan. And it brings me to a scary subject. My eleven year old sister didn't want me to see the books she had on hold for some reason, and so my curiosity was peaked. Especially by the fact that my nine and a half year old brother said, "I hope your spell book is in." He passed it off as "skull" when I questioned him, but I have sharp ears, and I know what I heard. So, after Sis left the room, I checked her account. Sure enough, there was this book, "7 days of magic spells charms correspondences for the bewitching week". It really scared me, and this book was serious! She doesn't believe me, but it was. It was under the label "witchcraft". It scares me that my 11 year old sister is into that...So PLEASE pray for her. She is WAY to interested in magic and fantasy for her own good. I'm not saying that Fantasy is bad, I love it, but when my sister orders a book on spells...get my point? She and Adam have already been "practicing" the spells from Harry Potter. I'm beginning to regret that I even started the series because of her obvious obsession. I don't understand why my dad is letting her read the books a whole two years younger than me...oh well. OK, I have to go now, but thanks all for your comments! And if you think of any songs... TTYL

An "absitively, posolutely, splendiferous" weekend!
Okay, here is my exciting news!!! WE FOUND A CHURCH!!! (everybody applaud, thank you, thank you!) It's a small thing, but it has kids, and the majority of people are not older. And the pastor is awesome! He is so happy, it just makes you want to be happy listening to him. And I think that it is a very real happiness. There were about three girls there my age or older, a eleven year old boy, and a six-eight year old girl there...and I think that was all the kids. But some people were absent that day, so there could be some more kids for Elise and eventually Isaac. But that whole day was great! My dad made breakfast, ad I don't mean to boast (Okay, I do) but my dad is one of the best cooks I know, and he made fried potatoes and onions (a Young family tradition!) and deer sausage (from my Uncle) and scrambled eggs. And then Mom and I went to this church...but we were actually planning on going to this other church, but Mom couldn't find the directions, and all this stuff, so we didn't, and we went to this one instead, and loved it. BTW, it;s called Bethany Baptist. And then we came home, and had lunch, and then I read until dinner, when we were going to go to second service but couldn't because my siblings are slowpokes, and didn't want to go anyway...but we had a good lots-of-tea night, with pistachio pudding for dessert.
So that was Sunday, but Saturday was pretty good too. My best friend (well, one of many) and her family came over, and I haven't seen them since...well...October? Well, sometime before Christmas. And it was great to have some fun in the house. And (amazingly!) even though my friend Johnathon was over, they didn't beat each other up! YAY, you guys! I am so proud of you! We had salmon quesadillas and jalepeno poppers, and Dr. Peppers, and 7Up's, and my uncle brought us a ton of fresh meat....And Gab and I ACTUALLY finished a game! Whoohoo! And we talked a lot, and played cards, and all around had a jolly god time!
Well, now I am reading Piercing The Darkness, and personally I like it better. I am really in to (not into , into, but intrigued by) satanic cults, and all this "reach in to your mind" stuff, and this book goes more in to that, and it's not so much prayer, as it is actually following God. And it's so weird but after reading these Darkness books, I think of demons differently! Cause in the books the deomns all have names and stuff...it's weird, but cool!
Okay, Mom just called and I have to go make dinner, but I have been having people let me know what songs they want on my blog, so if anyone has any special requests, just post them as a comment, and I'll see if I can find it! Okay, bye all!

Another day goes by...
Well, guess what? I'm bored. That seems to be my main subject here. But I haven't done anything in forever. And it snowed. Again.
Hey hey! It's half an hour later (Dinner, peeps) and I have some news! I know this might not sound big of you don't know me personally, but my mom and I and Abby might try church on Sunday!!! I haven't been to church since July, and that was for my friend's wedding! Urgh...I miss it sooo bad. Please do not think I am weird, but church has always been a big part of my life, and so I hope that we find a good one. And a church that has a good youth group. And good singing.
Alright, now that I've started, I am remembering all these things! Next time I get on, I am going to post about the trip I took to the Locks with my Aunt and Uncle. I have pics and everything! But for now:
OK, how is this for scary?! My bff, Bethany, is getting a job this Summer! (Just don't start driving this year, Beth. PLEASE!) Isn't that frightening?! That is just so weird...oh well, I guess we all have to grow up sometime. At least she's still shorter than me. Ha! No, I am so kidding Bethany. You may be short, but your personality is bigger than Texas. And that is a compliment. Hmmm, what else? We're going to start training our puppy! This is so much harder than it seems. We have a Great Dane mix, with a personality like nothing you've ever seen, who is sweeter than honey, but doesn't seem to realize than he is a little to big to snuggle with my two year old brother! Oh, and did I mention...he isn't fixed. So we're going on the adventure of a life time here, along with the Monks of New Skete, and a few pig ears.
My mom keeps telling me that I should be writing about the books I'm reading, so for lack of anything better to do, here is the outline of the book I'm reading by Frank Peretti, "This Present Darkness":
In the beginning of the book, there is this thing called the Festival going on on a small town called, Ashton. Two angels come into the middle of the festivities, which are not very reputable, let me tell you!, as they carry out their mission. Unseen, and unheard, they "speak" to a young journalist looking for a good news sweep. They point her direction towards a shadowed spot...
Then, they have flown away to another place, a house. They look in the window, and see a man crying and praying. They talk to each other about him, and they reveal that this man is the pastor of a small church, in Ashton, his name is Hank Busche. Then they enter the house, and laying their hands on his shoulders, they give him comfort as he prays.
The scene changes, and we meet Marshall Hogan, owner and editor of the towns newspaper. It's the night after the Festival, and his "reporter" B-something (sorry, not remebreing!) is in jail on a false charge. He comes into the jail to bail her, and so starts the suspense and mystery...enter Demons, Angels, and a posessed college teacher, and you've got the tale going. In turns out that the girl's pictures taken at the Festival have all been purposely destroyed. Why? Because she had, in those pictures, evidence that people knew each other, people who did not want others to know that they know eachother. Why, again? They are involved in some kind of cult, I think. So far, I am only on like the tenth chapter (I started this morning) and really all that's happened is Hank (the pastor dude, remember?) was voted to be kept as pastor, Marshall was reuntited with his estranged daughter, and the Demons are all very mad!
I'm not finding this story as compelling as the other Peretti books I read, Monster and The Oath, but it has more depth to it. It's like a cross between The Screwtape Letters and The Oath. It's stirring!
OK, I've g2g, but ttyal! B
