Life Lesson...

Posted in Too Much Fun

Well, it was time to renew our plates on our vehicles so I thought it would be a great time to teach DD1 something she'll need to know in the future.  We went and renewed our auto plates and paid property tax.  It was fun to watch her reaction to things she didn't know was involved with car ownership.

Kelly made a peach cobbler.  It turned out really good.  Too good as a matter of fact because she wants to make it again.  LOL

We had a couple of other teenagers stay with us last weekend.  Croquet and water balloon battles were the source of cheap entertainment.

A sudden set of dark clouds passed over... no rain came of it, but that was the day after all the tornados blew through the midwest.

When washing dishes, make sure you're armed with your favorite soda and good music.  It makes the task go by much faster.

We've been all around the world this week...

From Outer Space to Chile... we've visited so many places.

We had some Chinese American cuisine while sitting near the Great Wall...

Studied about the Bush Tailed Rat of Chile, South America.  And we've learned that it's not even a member of the rat family, but it's related to the Chinchillas.  One other strange but neat fact, Degus are used in diabetic testing because they contract diabetes so easily.

Had a good time watching the Survivors in Fiji...

Took a trip through the solar system

and hovered above Mercury.

The Day in Review...

Posted in Blatherings

The sound of a chattering child brought about an early morning wakeup.
The early morning wakeup started off a busy day on time.
Starting off the busy day were 1001 phone calls that needed to be made.
Phone calls... dentist (check), eye doc (check), field trip (check), 998 others... ehhhh
998 other calls go unanswered...so I gave up.
Giving up on the phone led me to the internet to look up some things.
Some things were found, while somethings were not.
Somethings that were not found is a way to describe "Do ordain and establish" in a unique way.
"Do ordain and establish" is from the preamble....
The preamble has to do with a movie the teens are making for the talent show this weekend.
This weekend... ahhhhh... I gotta get busy.
I gotta get busy because there's so many things to do and not enough time.
There's not enough time because I procrastinate.
I procrastinate mainly because i get sidetracked on the internet.
On the internet... I was looking for "do ordain" and remembered what I originally needed... an activiity for todays homeschool meeting.
At our homeschool group meetings, I lead the teen group.
The teen group is doing a project on trust and team building.
Team building is such a fun activity.
The activities we did today were blind mans crossing, flip a roo and a few others.
Blind mans crossing was really fun and the kids love the blindfolds.
The blindfolds .... lol, I can't think of anything.

After group, we had to finish working on the Preamble project and then when we got home, my nephew stopped in with a 'networking' plan from Fortune.  It's not multi level marketing, it's called networking. It's only 189.00 to start up... I pass.

Egypt in a box...

Posted in Photos

A cake box that is.  K is doing Mystery of History for social studies this year and one of her assignments was to make a cake and decorate it to look like Egypt.  She had to make flags of important places along the river Nile.  Her dad and I went out of town for the weekend so she took it to grandmas house.  Grandma ate most of the cake but then later stated she did not.  We quietly crowned her "Queen of Denial."
