Aug. 18, 2008 - Good grief, good night!
Since arriving home last night from a 10 day vacation, I:
Chauffered the kids to and from Tween group.
Returned library DVDs.
Got enough groceries to get us through a day.
Made homemade chicken salad from the leftover fried chicken from dinner.
Jogged.
Read Bible.
Completely reorganized older boys' closet.
Completely reorganized all clothes in older boys' dresser.
Shipped outgrown clothes to younger son's "on deck" shelf, neighbors, Goodwill.
Completely reorganized older boys' shelf units.
Selectively edited bookshelves, shifting some books from older boys to young boy room.
Made and baked an apple pie.
Scrubbed and cooked the first harvest of 24 potatoes from our garden.
Freecycled some items while gaining an IKEA Billy bookcase from the freecycle group. (www.freecycle.org).
Went through 196 emails which had accumulated during our vacation.
Posted 10 or so event posts to the local homeschool yahoo group I moderate.
Watered plants, weeded garden.
Mowed lawn.
Vacuumed out the entire van since the seats were already out to haul aforementioned bookcase.
Armor-All ed the van so that the vinyl matched the newly vacuumed floors.
Vowed to ban all eating in the van from now on.
Swung baby on the playground, reorganized the sand box and sand toys.
Bathed baby, read her books.
Picked up back living room (x 3).
Put away laundry and items from the trip.
Made lunch, made dinner.
Balanced checkbook.
Went through 10 days of snail mail.
Rescheduled dentist appointment, got erroneous charge on bill reversed.
Spoke to my folks.
I am never so productive as the day after a vacation. I have now cleaned, organized and cooked my full yearly quota--all in the past 24 hours. Tomorrow, a triple play of well checks at the pediatrician. The good times just never stop rolling!
