Oct. 5, 2008 - Is it just me or
does anyone else feel like a bad caricature of themselves upon entering a Whole Foods market? Why, yes, I do believe I am a pretentious fool apt to overpay for green, low carbon footprint food. Yuppiedom for those of us who weren't quite grown up or well off enough for the '80s yuppie craze.
However, it's the grocery store I can get in and out of while 3 of my 4 kids are at homeschool co-op and I can get back in time for pick-up. And the princess (DD 2.5) LOVES the free stickers, free samples and free lollipop. Organic lollipop, natch.
I do prefer homeschool band day to homeschool co-op day. On band day, I can skid into and out of Aldi grocery while two of the four are tooting their own horns. I am much more myself in Aldi. Why, yes, I do believe I am essentially a frugal budgeter apt to bag my own groceries and forego brand names to save a buck.
Mr. Wonderful would say these choices reflect a schizophrenic bent within me, but anyone who has ever shopped with four children realizes that the only sane action is to shop where ever and when ever one can with the minimum number of kids in tow.
Blessings, Holly
