Otis

This is Otis. He's our newest addition to the bovine population here.

That's four head of cattle, enough for us.

Otis is a Brangus, Brahma mixed with Angus. Sorry, if that sounded sorta know-it-allish but some people really don't know. Anyway, he's a beef cow as opposed to the dairy cows we usually buy. Hopefully one of the girls will show him in future livestock shows.

He had a hard time at first adjusting without Momma. But, he's come around and he is a true bucket calf, no bottles for this guy.

I think he's adorable and I love his ears.

I hope all is wonderful with you and yours,

blessings, Julie

Oooh! I love calves. When my Aunt had a dairy farm, we used to help feed the calves, and it was kind of fun when it wasn't windy and cold!

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

I'm glad I found you again! I was looking for your blog but couldn't remember what your name was.......It's hard to search for blogs!
I took a little blog break for most of the fall and winter--too tired and pregnant to do anything that wasn't absolutely necessary.
Jaylyn was in AWANA and she was a Cubbie, whatever that means. She loved it (even though she was too young to actually be in there). She'll repeat it again this fall but she won't care because she enjoyed it so much.
Homonyms are impossible! I don't even want to think about the other nyms..........

You just keep looking younger and younger. Not bad for a non-grandmother, huh!? I was thinking of you today as I contemplated posting on my son's recent birthday (8yo). You've done such awesome commemorative posts of your children in the past. I'm not up to such a post at this time, so I think I'll wait and see if things change in the next couple of days:)
Hope all is well in OK!

He IS adorable! Glad he's getting on better now. I was glad for the explanation - I know very little about cows!
Like your new photo - you look great!
God bless you

When it comes to cows, I'm a know-nothing (well, next to nothing), so you know-it-all to your heart's content, especially when it involves something as adorable as Otis!

So, please tell, I've heard it often - what does bucket calf mean? weaned and eating out of a bucket, I hope? The new picture looks great. Hope all is well your way.
I'm doing the honeydo list - actually fun and relaxing. Twisted.

Oh, Otis is such a cutie! And I agree his ears are so adorable.

In answer to your question about naming Misty, Alex named her and I honestly have no idea why he named her that. Misty has since been let free and we now have a very large male Green Frog named Champ! And two Green Frog tadpoles and one Bullfrog tadpole. The older Alex is getting the better he is at catching these critters!

Blessings,
Melissa
P.S. I love your new avatar photo!
