Please Don't Read This

I must apologize as that last post was a bit weak. Although you guys came up with some new and amusing quotes and even made me think of some I had failed to list. Thanks for the input, you guys are the bestest.

Sorry. But, quite frankly I've been a bit uninspired regarding blog material.

Please allow me to whine further as it is just so incredibly hot here too. Alright Sally my desert friend, please don't laugh, but I'm serious...it's been really hot here. Today was our fourth day in a row of 100+ temps.

I made an effort this evening to get outside and get some pictures of what's blooming around the yard just so I could get a current post up.

I had tried to get some pictures of our shade garden but I caught our torn up yard in the background. We've put in a geo-thermal heat pump and free lawn removal comes with the package.

But I did get this photo of one of my transplanted Lilys.

Year before last I had planted them in my shade garden where they refused to bloom. So the kids and I moved them last fall. Looks like I made the right decision.

Here is Black-eyed-Susan that is growing out by the vegetable garden.

I also had a friend following me closely as I was traipsing around the yard taking pictures.

This is Bandito one of the new kittens we had gotten because Annie the porch ornament quit her job. He's a bit obnoxious and enjoys harassing the dogs but he is catching rodents so he's a keeper.

We also got another calf. He's a red Holstein. I named him Petey, short for Pistol Pete the mascot at the university where Tim teaches. So now that's five. I guess I shouldn't have said four was enough in an earlier post as I hadn't consulted Tim on the subject. So we have plenty of mouths to feed now. One horse, five bovines, two dogs, three cats, three kids, a husband and myself. Am I forgetting anyone...anyone...? I'm sure they'll show up for dinner whether I've remembered them or not.

Okay, I'm whining again...it's the heat I tell ya...it's vicious and brutal and sapping the life outa me!

Oh Sally how do you do it?!

I will return someday when temps are more humane and my brain is no longer fried.

Stay cool and know that I will look back on this someday and be totally humiliated and mortified concerning my behavior but for now, I don't care, I'm hot.

Your friend, Hotchamama

God's always good, but he's been especially good to me this year, Julie! We've only had about 35 days over 100 so far, and I'm not trying to be funny. :o) (Honestly, I thought it was only about 5 days. I had to ask my husband, and his answer surprised me!) Right now it's 9:30 pm, and 95 out! It actually feels very nice. You'll get used to it. lol.

It's nice to see you still blogging along. It has been hard for me to get here lately... Elisabeth put a letter for Lillie in the mail today. :o)

I started laughing at your whine about the temps. Ha! You ain't seen nothin' till you've experienced Kansas in the summer. Then I tried to remember where you live and got the hint from your sidebar, just a bit south of me. I agree. You deserve the whine as your temps must be pretty much the same as ours and possibly a tad hotter. It's the humidity, though, that makes it so bad. I haven't spent much time outside in the last month due to busy schedule and the awful heat. The schedule should let up a little soon, and then I'm just going to have to get out there between 5 and 9 am every day to enjoy it.

Oh! Forgot! We had a calico kitty named Bandida for a while. She had a mask just like your Bandido, which was the reason for her name. She went the way of so many farm cats and either moved on to another place or got eaten by coyotes or who knows what. She was a good cat and quite a beauty.

It isn't fun being over hot - wafwako! I remember sticking to the paper I was trying to write letters on when in Africa - not pleasant!
Here I feel a need to complain about the poor temperatures, though this week has been a bit more like it and I've finally been able to go through a day without a sweater!
Hope it cools down a bit for you.
God bless you!
love Sarah

You call that whining! That's nothing! Maybe for fun we should have a whining contest! As for the heat, I understand. I couldn't stand summers in TN. I just always felt like a puddle about to evaporate into nothing. If you feel like heading north, you're always welcome! Our high today is 72. :) Don't hate me!

Julie, you are too funny! I know what you mean, we've had temps in the 90's for several days, but what makes it so bad is the energy zapping thick dreaded humidity that's been with it. Let's just say afternoon naps in the air conditioning have found their place.

Stay cool!

We seem to go from crazy hot to wild storms lately. Either one is a good excuse to just sit down and enjoy a glass of iced tea! Love the flower pics!

Oh dear! It is hot here, too, but not that hot. I have been grumpy because of the humidity climbing to near record highs. Ugh! I've taken to reading books while inside. That doesn't make for good blogging either. But I am keeping cool and entertained!

Hi!

It is pretty hot here too, and I always feel rather lethargic when it is hot.

I does sound like you have a...property full? I assume you don't keep the cows in the house!

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

Julie, I don't think so. :o( I don't see the US of A alive and well in the end times, and I believe we are in them, if not close. People seem to think God just has to bless us because this is a "Christian nation", but it isn't anymore, and this isn't Israel... There's an awful lot of pork thrown in on this energy bill. Good for your US Senator, doing his best to defeat it. Pray he is successful. Maybe we'll get a few years' reprieve. My DH preached a good message last night. In spite of all that is going on, "My heart is fixed". Ps 112. I hate to sound so negative, but God is not mocked. In the meantime, we are going to escape the heat and have a picnic in the mts on the 4th, hooray! (PS. Correct that temp I gave you yesterday -- we topped out at 120.)

Glad you enjoyed our pediatrician story. I was so very frustrated! And it's nice to know I'm not alone. And yes, they should definitely have more interesting toys or at least something to attempt to entertain the kids! My kids get bored and go crazy there! Maybe I should suggest they use my co-pay money toward those things!

Jun. 30, 2009 - The heat

Posted by Timothy
It's not the heat, it's the humidity... blah, blah, blah.

That's what they say here in SC. But it's still hot sweaty weather nonethless. I do prefer the 98 degrees and lots of humidity, to the 106 degrees... and a bit of humidity though. Yesterday, in order to work in the back yard, I just put on my swim suit and hit the kiddie pool with Andrew whenever I needed to cool down. So you can bet, I spent a lot of time in the kiddie pool. :)

Well-I meant to refer to the title as "Please Don't Read This" (now up to 16 comments with this one), NOT "You Don't Want To Read This" - which, as I recall, was the title of another post - indeed another post with a high comment count.

I get hot at 80 degrees, don't feel bad.

Totally understand - it has been in the eighties here (which is classed as a heatwave in this country)!

Today it is pouring with rain - lovely and refreshing!
