Merry Christmas!

Ah, there's nothing like the holidays:) We began our celebrations by watching "White Christmas" on Christmas Eve, altogether as a family, which is quite a feat.
The next day, we started with Advent and lit the Jesus Candle. Then I brought up the stockings. Those things are heavy! We go youngest to oldest.

Poor Sam wasn't feeling too well:(

The poor living room, post-stockings...

Mom and a candle she received:)

One of Papa's gift. He didn't know what it was, until he saw the apple:) But it looks so picturesque, does it not?

Our family picture, notice the dog sitting dutifully. We *almost* tried posing the cat...but that was a little too ambitious.

So how was you guy's weekend? We've spent most of the day watching Leave It To Beaver (Beaver is *so* cute:) and Father Knows Best (which is pretty funny). Tomorrow, Mom and Papa and I are going up to Jerusalem, to do some shopping for my hope chest. Mom's birthday is tomorrow as well!

note to Katy: I got the Most Wanted Edition of Robin Hood! it has a bonus alternate ending. The Alternate is way too dark for the movie, so I see while they didn't put it in. Ode-Lally!

God Bless, and Have a good weekend!

The Best Christmas Pageant Evah!

So, I am now 16! wow, I'm so old now...

I went to a cake decorating class the day before the party/my birthday. It was so much fun! Here's a picture of the finished project..

Isn't it cute!

here's another view. Thanks to Ms. Sue, for showing me how to make it!

we also had home-made gingerbread and marshmallow (and apple crisp). The Marshmallows where so much fun to make, and very popular at the table.

Maayan waiting for the Marshmallows...she liked them a lot:)

And here is The "virgint" Mary and Joseph (who ended up punching a wise man and taking his gold...oh well)

The female shepherds, looking, er...well, kind of scruffy.

Anyway, it was a fun night:)

Merry Christmas (only a week left!)

Bless your beautiful hide wherever you may be......

Everyone has favorite winter movies. I want this next series of posts to highlight some of me and my Sibs' favorite winter movies. And, you guys can join in to:)

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers:
I grew up on this movie:) my parent had me watching it when I was 3! and every kid in the family can recite the 7 brothers' names (ha), the brides on the other hand....not to mention, we quote it all day.

This scene is perhaps the most iconic, besides the "Sobbin' Women" song, that is.

I hope you all enjoy! Merry Christmas! onedaymore

*spray* , *sniff*....."ahhhh"

I just wanted to thank all of you nice commenters! It was very fun for me to get comments from you all. Hopefully, I responded to all of them...pray tell me if I did not!

So, the neatest thing happened earlier this morning (Its about 9:54 that I'm writing this). Mom and I went to go out on our morning jog (the  first this week, since I have been under the weather) and at Zion Sq. (which Katy knows well:) there was a film crew!

This is the second time that I've seen a film crew (on the same street no less!)

Haha, it was a nasal-spray commercial. Originally, it was a guy (In this picture, it was a girl). Mom and I had to walk away, we were laughing so hard at the actor's cheesy inhaling act.

And here's another picture, for good measure. Note: Josh took all the pictures, and some of them aren't that good. He was trying to be all covert like:)

Anyhoo, hope you enjoy this post! Its always fun to see something like this happening on your own street!

Merry Christmas!

Post Scriptum:
I found a lot of very cute Christmas icons recently, so I'll post a few later...maybe next week.

More drawings...

Seriously, I have been on a drawing craze lately, methinks it has something to do with the Christmas Spirit:)

This is a picture of Martin Luther.(Sorry I didn't finish the door, whoops:)

This is Ramandu's daughter. We JUST finished reading the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

And this is..er...*supposed* to be Roland (from the Song of Roland) I have been reading it in school. I haven't really bothered to finish him, but I'll finish him later and show what he looks like...

Katy will know what this is...I have these animal peeps I draw sometimes...

This is a lame little cartoon that I did Thanksgiving morning during Devotions. *The thing the Native American is holding is supposed to be a turkey*

Anyhoo, I have exactly 9 days till my 16th Birthday! I really need to prepare for the Christmas Pageant. Oh yeah, and 18 days till Christmas! yay!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanksgiving day, ah what a treat! To eat and eat and eat and....eat...

That above is a goofy poem from Adventures in Odyssey! Profound, I know.

Well, now I have some pictures, but not all. I have pre-dinner pictures and a few more of my drawings:)(hehe)

This is Josh, peeling potatoes

Mom and Caleb plucking the turkey (every year it always has a few feathers left)

our mashed potatoes, heh, with lots of butter and cheese...oh my

Guess what I am reading in school now:)

Merry Christmas~

Thanksgiving and Samuel birthday

Samuel is officially a year old!

The birthday boy and his annoying birthday gift. Sorry that the picture isn't that great:(

Well, we all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We cooked for two days...which was fun. We have started a tradition by playing chick-flicks as my mom and I cook. This time it was Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. Ahh...it was "so refreshing" as Miss Bingley would say:)
I don't have any pictures yet, my dad has taken the camera on his two day hike, so maybe around monday I can post something:)

Today is the day we decorate for Christmas. Usually we do the deed the day after Thanksgiving, but we had the party yesterday. Its always so much fun playing Xmas music and, well, "decking the Halls":)

In school I read The Epic of Beowulf. Needless to say, it inspired me to draw some pictures.

This is King Hrothgar at his mead hall, Heorot.

Beowulf getting ready to fight Grendel.

Grendel, looking ugly as ever...

anyway, that's all for now!

Er...Merry Christmas!

the second time writing this!

This is the second time I have written this post. I had it all written out, and then one of my sibs closed off the tab, so, goodbye post...

I don't want to write another long post, but I'll give you guys some little news flashes:)

In 8 days my little brother, Sam, will be 1 year old! He is almost ready to walk, he can take a few steps on his own, though.

We (as a family) are practicing our Ultimate Frisbee skills. So far we've learned how *not* to play. The frisbee seems to be more interested in hitting my head, or legs, than allowing me to catch it. I must say, we are a sight(except my dad, that is).

My sixteenth birthday is exactly one month away. We are having a Christmas pageant at our house that night:)

I'm still working on my sewing....I'm perfecting my sock animals as of yet. I made a Puss in Boots! he's really cute. Now I am working on a female version. I couldn't find the right pair of socks, though. But the ones that I found will have to do. Its really funny because it gives her hips (like battleships:). Ah, well, at least no one will mistake her gender(haha)

My cat had a hole in her, so we took it to the vet. he said it was an infection and that it had to be cut out...yuck. That cat has used up 8 of her 9 lives! We call her our "Holy Cat"(get it? "holey"?)

We watched Kung Fu Panda yesterday! It was adorable, we all loved it. I liked the part in Po's dream where he says something like "There is no prize for awesomness and atractivness." cute.
And, we watched Ironman a few weeks ago. That was really neat. One bad scene, though. Otherwise a very good film. Nathan loved it.

Okay...so this post turned out being really long anyway! oh well.

Sara's Birthday (party) !

My sister, Sara, had her 9th birthday on the 28th! But her party was on the 31st:) So, we had a tea-party/harvest+one very cute papier mache Jack-O-Lantern type of party. It was a lot of fun. Here come the photos!

I am so happy about how it turned out!

Isn't the Jack-O-Lantern cute!

I printed off the letters from a website called AllSorts, they were last minute, but worth it:)

all the happy party people (Sara is the one in the pink dress, under the "H"

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain....

Yeah,if only God would *let* it rain:) Oh well.

As I've probably mentioned before, instead of snow in the winter, we in Israel get rain. And lots of it! It pretty much rains from November to February-March. It does not get too terribly cold here, but all the wet makes us feel cooler than it actually is.

It rained for the first time a couple weeks ago, for five minutes. Bummer!

Oh yeah, and my sewing! So far, I've made a:
owl
snake/worm
bat
monster
bear
2 dogs
giraffe
monkey(he needs arms, though)
anteater
chameleon
cat

I need to post pictures:) I can't wait till we are back in the States and can buy more supplies(I only have one needle).

And Sara's 9th birthday is coming up. Its a tea party:) I have to make a cake, cookies and cider. I am a party-planner of sorts...exhausting, really(just kidding).

Anyhoo, I hope you all have a blessed week!

my chewed up notebook *sniff*

My adorable little brother, Sam, has destroyed my notebook! It was so cute! I had covered it with Robin Hood pictures, and he chewed it up on the way home from the beach.
*beware some pictures below may frighten you*
so sad!

but, I still draw in it, even though EVERY SINGLE PAGE IS CHEWED ON!

this is, well, a picture of a female cat, I drew the eye first...

I'm sure you all have read the nursery rhyme called "The Owl and the Pussycat" the pictures makes more sense if you have:)

owls, I love owls! (clock-wise from far left)female Snowy Owl, male Snowy Owl, Barn Owl and Great Owl

er, well, lets see, some Shakespeare-ian mice, a cartoon cardinal and a ballerina cat. Paper should never be wasted, I say!

now this wasn't in my notebook, but it was the first time I drew a bear and I think he looks rather cute and fuzzy:) there is also a female otter sideways, there, and the word "dumb" because I got mad at something....

Anyhoo, I'm working to fill up that notebook so I can get another! I can't believe that innocent looking baby devoured my notebook! Okay, so it isn't devoured, but he did take a good bite out of it!

I hope you all have a good week!

Whiner-Babies

No, this post is not about my siblings:)the header is merely misleading:)

I want to share with you a very good website for all you young ladies(and guys, I guess). Its called FEMINA, my mom is on there *all the time*.
Recently they wrote a very good post about whiners, and how we should not be whiners, and so on. Very good.
But in the past few weeks someone brought up a video that complemented the post really well.

Have a Laugh

Very Funny:) My mom and I stayed up late watching this:)

There's an elephant in my yogurt!

Okay, this is yet *another* silly post about what I can do with ordinary household things. (aren't you proud:)

In Israel, the yogurt, well, it is absolutely fantastic. It comes in the wierdest flavors! Coffee, apple, lemon cheese cake, etc. BUT, if you freeze them, they taste like ice cream:)(except a lot healthier, ie:48 calories:).
They tend to get pretty hard if you over freeze them, so this is what I made out of my coffee flavored ice yogurt:

yeah, I know, I was bored....

a slightly bigger picture....

anyhoo, I need to go and put together a birthday present!
Hope you all have a blesses Shabbat!
