Battle-Weary Soldiers
“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” Galatians 6:9
I look around at most of the teenagers and young adults I know and they seem weary, dry, and defeated. So many I know have walked away from their faith or are struggling in it! Why does the world have such a pull? Why can we not seem to be victorious? We were meant to be victorious in Jesus Christ. Through Him we have been given power to defeat the enemy, so why do we constantly find ourselves in retreat? “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 We were never meant to fear evil, but to overcome it! Why are we struggling so?
Part of the reason I think we, a body of young believers, are being beaten down so easily is because we don’t go to each other, openly and honestly, and ask for prayer and encouragement. We are so prideful and we don’t want others to think we struggle. Pride is from Satan and can easily destroy us. We have to guard our hearts against pride and arrogance because it builds up barriers that are not easily taken down. It will easily destroy your relationships with people and, if allowed to continue, possibly your relationship with God. We must be willing to be honest with one another and support one another in these trying times. We need to become true brothers and sisters, but we can’t be there, if you won’t let us.
Secondly, I think the other reason for so much defeat in our spiritual lives lately is the fact that we allow ourselves to be defeated. Listen to this for a minute. Sin has NO POWER OVER YOU, YOU ARE FREE. Yet when you are free, you are free to choose whether or not to be a slave to righteousness or to your sinful nature. (“But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. So now, present your members as salves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.” Romans 6:17-18&19b) Sin only has the power over you that you allow it have! People! We have the victory, we just have to claim it and walk in it! We have to lay everything at His feet and walk by faith, knowing that HE is faithful and trustworthy. We ARE fighting a battle, but we do not need to retreat! The battle is the LORD’s!!! When we follow in His steps, His instructions, and follow Him into battle, we will NOT BE DEFEATED!
I was laying bed last night thinking these things over in my mind, I was thinking about the lack of Spiritual victory in my own life. I decided that I was tired of being less than I could be, I was tired of my own apathy and fear in battle, I was tired of losing and being defeated! I am tired of living a second-rate life for God. What kind of example am I if I say that I am free from sin and yet, in my life, I am entangled and shot down, daily? This battle is not for the faint-hearted or half-hearted. It is for those who will courageously go out and fight with all the strength they possess. And the reason we can have courage is because we know that though they press us on every side, we will stand firm; though they advance, we advance as well; though they may have the upper hand for a moment, we will have the victory! Hallelujah!!! Take heart my fellow warriors, we were not destined for defeat, but for power in the name of the LORD! Not because of our own power, but because of He is with us. “Oh give us help against the adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we shall do valiantly, and it is He who treads down our adversaries.” Psalm 108:12-13
When we seek Him, we shall find Him. When we obey Him, we shall be blessed. When we love Him we realize how much He loves us. When we rest in Him, He will renew us. When we serve Him, we will find freedom. When we offer our lives to Him, He makes us into new creations. When we abide in Him, we shall have fruit. When we stand for Him, together, as one body, we shall fight for Him and shall be victorious in Him!
This month I am praying that we, as teenagers and young adults, would come together like never before. That our fire would be kindled in a new way and that we would fight together, side by side. Giving our all for Him, and reaching out to strengthen and encourage each other in the midst of the battle.
All who follow Him and fight for Him can be victorious! Don’t lose heart, the battle has just begun! Stand with me Brothers and Sisters. Together we will serve the LORD and He shall strengthen us, so that we can strengthen others. Fight the fight, run the race, finish well. Live in VICTORY through the blood of Jesus Christ!

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?” Romans 8:31
“Through You we will push back our adversaries; through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, nor will my sword save me. But You have saved us from our adversaries, and You have put to shame those who hate us. In God we have boasted all day long, and will give thanks to Your name forever.” Psalm 44:5-8
“Then I said to you, ‘Do not be shocked, nor fear them. The LORD your God who goes before You will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place.’” Deuteronomy 1:29-31
“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and of live and discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”Philippians 4:13
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything to stand firm.” Ephesians 6:10-13 |

Oct. 27, 2009 United We Kneel November
United We Kneel: Tuesday November 3rd
This United We Kneel I would like us to pray for strength and encouragement for the body of teenage and young adult believers. It seems like so many are being pulled away by the wiles of the world. The time is short, we need every young person to fight on the front lines, now! We cannot afford to lose any more ground. We must stand firm in our convictions and fight for what we know to be right. So, I am asking for you to pray for a revival in the hearts of the young people. That we would realize that we are not too young to make a difference, and we would start living like sons and daughters of the King!
I would also like to ask you to pray that our hearts would not be divided in our goal. That we would not allow sin to sneak in and divide our interests from what is the LORD’s plan. May we not become weary in doing good but stand boldly for the truth and justice so dear to our Father’s heart. May all we do and say reflect His character in us!
Stand strong brothers and sisters,

Oct. 2, 2009 Oooopsss....retraction!
Retraction: United We Kneel-October
Dear Readers,
I humble myself before you and admit that I wrote something I now see that I don’t agree with. Because of the comment from my dear friend, Lana, I see that I was wrong in saying that it was “preposterous” for the Islamic people to have a prayer day on Capitol Hill. I also see that what I said goes against what America stands for, Religious freedom, and liberty and justice for all. I apologize for my attitude. While I agree that it is sad that they are misguided in their devotion to a false god, as far as I know, this is the only fault. As I said, I agree that all religions should be treated as equal, although no false god is equal to the One True God! I apologize for my discriminatory attitude!
I also agree that at the end of the day, it will not be America’s claim to Christianity that will keep us in right standing with God. It does not matter even so much if America is a Christian nation, because the mandate from our LORD was to go and make disciples all over the world! (This was at a time where America didn’t even exist yet!) How arrogant of me to think that if America is Christian the rest of the world will be ok too. That is not true! Not only should we be praying for our country but for the whole world. Not only should we be trying to reach our fellow Americans but anyone we come in contact with who needs to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, no matter race, religion, or nationality. At the end of the day whether our nation proclaims to be Christian or not, does not determine our productivity in the spreading of the gospel. That depends on the condition of our hearts, not our nation. While I would like to know that America is a Christian nation with a common goal (to serve God) that should not hinder me in living the life for God that I should. I just wanted to clear that up and apologize to you all for my lack of knowing where I truly stand on these issues.
Thank you Lana for sharpening me, “as iron sharpens iron”, and for doing so in a loving manner. While I do not agree with everything you mentioned, I can see a few points in which I was having a non-Christlike attitude. Thank you for challenging me in that!
Tomorrow is the day!

Oct. 1, 2009 United We Kneel October ~ Abortion and The Direction of America
My goodness! The 3rd of the month always sneaks up on me. I can hardly believe that it's time for another prayer day already! We had decided that this month we will pray about abortion. Now, I have never investigated much into abortion statistics and procedures but I know that it is wrong and it is murder. The Bible says, "You shall not murder." Exodus 20:13 Plain and simple, in black and white.
The Bible also says, "For You formed my inward parts; you wove me in my Mother's womb. I will give thanks to You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:13-14 God doesn't create junk! Each little life, which begins at conception, is carefully woven together by the skillful hands of the Master Creator. Each life, is destined to bring glory and honor to Him. Who are we to play God and think we can decide the fate of little lives? It is utter moral decay in America. We have no more respect or fear of God. We are in desperate need of prayer and change in America. Not the change of President Barack Obama but the change of hearts only God can bring.
If you would like to investigate further you can go to: http://www.abort73.com/end_abortion/a_biblical_mandate_to_do_something_about_abortion Abort 73 is a Christian-run website giving the cold hard truth about abortion. I would recommend that you get your parents consent first before taking any further steps though. While the information is good and true and based on Biblical principles I have not read the whole article through, just skimmed it. IT IS VERY LONG!
Another issue I would like to add to our prayer list for Saturday is the fact that on September 25th, 2009 there was a prayer day for Islam at Capitol Hill. (Go to: www.islamoncapitalhill.com ) I found this information preposterous and I could hardly believe it! We need to seriously be praying for the direction this nation is going and for us to turn to God. Are we really a Christian nation anymore? I believe soon it will be very evident!

Sep. 1, 2009 September 3rd-----Prodigals
United We Kneel September: Prodigals
This month we voted that we should pray for the prodigals. It seems like there are so many now, more than ever! Or maybe I am just now learning to notice and pray for those families who are in like pain. It is undescribable the pain that you feel when you have been so close to another human being and without your knowledge you watch them reject everything you stand for and it literally feels like your heart is tearing in two. Guilty thoughts start running through your head like , “Maybe I wasn’t a good enough witness in my life to him/her”, “How could we have been so close and not sense what was really going on?”, “Could I have done something to stop him/her?”. Living in the past is not an option for Believers, but learning from it certainly is. Because of this situation with my brother, my family has grown closer and has leaned on each other more than ever. The pain is lessening but is still very real and very close to our hearts. It is extremely hard to watch him self-destruct his life and be wrapped up in the lies this world offers. We can see that all of it is futility and will only come to death and destruction, but all he sees is the pleasure of the moment. Is anyone else resonating with this? So let’s get down on our knees and ask for their eyes and hearts to be opened to the truth of God’s Word and the lies they have been believing. They are the only ones who can choose which path to take in life and no one can make them go the way they want. The LORD has given us free choice to do what we want so let’s pray that these young men and women who have wandered astray would fall on their faces before Him and WANT to serve Him, because at the end of the day, we all do what we WANT!
The Story of the Prodigal Son as told in Luke 15:11-32
“And He said, ‘A man had two sons. The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them. And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him to his fields to feed swine. And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! I will get up and go to my father and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.’’ So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and he ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly, bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate. Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’ But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. But he answered and said, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’ And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’”
Prodigal- A person who has tasted the goodness of God yet turns away
Let us bring these prodigals before the LORD and ask for this year to be the year of the return of the prodigals! Let us ask boldly before the Throne of grace that the desire of their hearts would turn from selfishness to wanting to please God. Let’s ask big things of our BIG GOD!

Aug. 17, 2009 Please keep praying for my brother
Update On My Brother
Hey Everyone! First of all, I want to thank you so much for praying for my brother and my parents and I through all of this. I cannot convey to you the deep hurt of loving someone so much who has chosen to walk away from a relationship with the LORD. It is terrible and it breaks your heart. Our hope is in the fact that the LORD has promised that Daniel will come back someday, to Him. That is the promise we hold to. We are learning everyday to lean on and cling to Him for everything. He is still living at my Aunt and her family’s house (and btw she is not a Believer). He quit his current job and started back at his old job. The problem being that his old work was a very evil atmosphere, even more so then at the greenhouse where he was previously working. Please pray for continued protection from evil influences and the pressure to do ungodly things. We are praying and asking the LORD why He allowed my brother to go back to that evil place but even though we can’t fathom it the LORD says that His ways are above our so we are trying to trust Him. He knows what He’s doing much better than us. Daniel is supposed to be coming over tomorrow night to visit and get his test for school corrected. Hopefully it’ll be a good visit. We still maintain contact. I text him a lot, he rarely talks on the phone unless totally necessary. He is still lying and very sketchy about his personal and social life. He seems a little more hardened than at first and continually gives us reason to believe he is immensely enjoying his “freedom”. All we can do is pray that the LORD would reveal his sin to him and that it would cause him to become miserable and realize how much he needs the LORD. Please pray with my family and I that the deepest desire of his heart would turn from pleasing himself to pleasing the LORD. It is only when he is part of His family that he will be truly happy. Thank you all again.

Aug. 15, 2009 How Big Is Your God?
Is He Big Enough?
By Maiden Princess
“And looking at them Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” Matthew 19:26
My family and I have been pondering lately the lack of hope present in so many people. Today at our Fellowship gathering we were talking about some recent suicides that had taken place around our area. How sad that people are willing to kill themselves because they feel that no one loves them, that is there no hope for them, that there is nothing left to live for. These kind of things are running rampant on the streets of our cities. This shouldn’t be happening. It clearly shows that our effectiveness as children of the King is seriously lacking!
The problem lies in the fact that we are Believers don’t live with hope. We don’t even live in joy no matter what the economy is, whether we like our President or not, we don’t truly trust God to provide for us no matter what. If we truly believed that our God is as great and as big as we say He is, why aren’t our lives showing it? If we have no hope, no joy, no love; then who can the people in the world turn to for an example? How are we any different from the world? We just go through life saying we trust God and saying He’s great but not really believing it. What is gonna take to open our eyes?
My God is big enough to bring my brother to his knees and bring him back home. My God is big enough to provide for my family even if my Dad loses his job or we have to move. My God is big enough to orchestrate the perfect plan and the perfect place for me to meet my future husband. My God is big enough to tackle healthcare reform, abortion issues, homeschooling rights, and all the other issues this nation views as important. My God is big enough. My God is big enough to let me decide if I want to trust Him to handle these issues or if I am gonna take them into my own hands and try to reform them in my own power.
So am I going to trust an all-powerful all knowing God? Am I going to believe that He is big enough to handle my problems, as well as carry the world in His hands? Because if I believe it, if you believe it; it’s going to change the way we live! It’s going to change the world. It’s time to stand up and live fearlessly, committing all into the capable hands of our Maker and the Sustainer of our universe. It’s time to put all of our worries and anxieties behind us and live like we have a God who’s gonna take good care of us no matter what. It’s time to show the world what a difference it makes when your life is surrendered to the LORD!
How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin is a very popular song and lots of people love it. I am one of them. We sing about how great God is, yet we don’t live it. Today is the day to put the voice of Satan playing in our minds behind us, and live only for the glory of the LORD with the child-like faith that our Father will provide for us and allow only what is for our good in our lives. It’s time to live like we serve a BIG GOD! We do!!! NOTHING is impossible with Him!
So, how big is your God? Mine is big enough to handle everything the world has to offer, including my life. So just sit back, relax, and rest in the knowledge that God has it all under control.
Seeking His Wisdom,
Maiden Princess |

Thank You Everyone!
I just want to say thank you to all of you who participated in this last prayer day. I know that it is important to pray for those who are going through persecution. If I was being persecuted I’d want to be prayed for and I’m sure that is the least we can do for them. I hope many of you checked out the Voice of the Martyrs Website. It is a great resource for knowing how to pray each month for those bearing a greater burden for following the LORD.
This next month we will be praying for prodigals and lost souls. As you know, my own brother is now included in both of those groups. I never thought it would happen but is has and for some reason the LORD has allowed it. All I can say is whatever happens in my life may my life be used to bring glory and honor to Him. It is hard, I will not pretend but it also has caused me to sympathize with others going through this same situation and, though as not on the intensity level of the LORD, understand more of how it must break His heart when we sin against Him and spit in His face after His great sacrifice. What great love He has for us! September 3rd is the day for praying for the prodigals and lost souls. Please take time out of your busy weeks and months to bring these requests before the LORD. If we, His children, are so busy to not have time to pray for our lost brothers and sisters, then who will? It is our obligation to lift our brothers and sisters in persecution and in rebellion up before the Throne. May the LORD hear our prayers and know the desires of our hearts are pure and good. Please join us in prayer for the rest of this month for our fellow persecuted Believers in other countries and even here in America and please be thinking about who you can pray for on September 3rd.
Again thank you all for standing with me as we lift the cry of our hearts before our all-powerful Father. May your night be blessed with your realization of His outpouring of love all around you.

Aug. 3, 2009 Rejoice in the LORD Always, Again I Say Rejoice!
"So they (Paul and Peter) went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name." Acts 5:41
Pray for the persecuted! Today is the day! As we were reading this chapter in Acts the other night the above verse really stuck out to me. At first my thoughts was, wow, they got their mentality all screwed up, and I realized that it was me, who "had it all screwed up"! In America, we don't realize, not truly, what persecution is, because of that it is hard for us to wrap our minds around it. In other countries to become a believer means death, generally, and if not death, certain persecution. That is why they have such passionate believers. No one goes into it half-heartedly. This is what has really been rising up in my heart lately to pray for the persecuted for Christ. That they would, "Count it all joy" and be able to rejoice when faced with various trials. Will you pray with us today for those who are faced with death daily, torture as a sure possibility, seperation from their families, and so much more! Again, if you would like more information you can go to www.persecution.com

CURRENT PRAYER UPDATE
VOM-USA Prayer Update for July 31, 2009
CHINA - Pastor Sent to Labor Camp – China Aid Association
On June 29, Pastor Dou Shaowen, who is currently serving a one-year sentence for “engaging in illegal activities,” was secretly transferred to Shifo Re-education Through Labor Center in Zhengzhou city, Henan province, according to China Aid Association. His family was not informed of his transfer. Pastor Dou, his wife Feng Lu and five other believers were arrested on June 14 when government officials raided and closed the Rock Church. The police confiscated computers and other church property. Pastor Dou and his wife were sentenced to a year in prison and the other believers were sentenced to 15 days in detention and fined 500 Yuan (US$ 73). Feng Lu, however, will serve her sentence at home so she can care for the couple’s 12 year-old daughter. China Aid reported Pastor Dou has been treated inhumanely in the labor camp. “When he wanted to talk to the police officers, he was forced to squat. He worked 18 hours a day from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. midnight. Over 70 people sleep in a room,” a source at China Aid said. “Due to the hot weather and the poor sanitary condition … some prisoners have eczema, herpes and other skin diseases. They have to work 18 hours a day without enough to eat.” Feng Lu tried to visit her husband in prison, but was told she was not allowed to visit him for a month. She is required to report to the Public Security Bureau police regularly, and could be sent to labor camp again if she is found “engaging in illegal religious activities” again.

SOMALIA - Christian man murdered - VOM Sources
On July 20, a convert from Islam to Christianity was murdered in the city of Mahadday Weyne, Somalia by members of al-Shabaab, a militant group with ties to Al-Qaeda, according to Compass Direct News. Mohammed Sheikh Abdiraman, who had been a Christian for 15 years and was the leader of a group of underground believers, was shot at approximately 7:00 a.m. He is survived by two children, ages 10 and 15. His wife died three years ago due to illness. Ask God to comfort and guide Abdiraman's children in this difficult time. Pray that increased persecution will result in increased boldness among believers in Somalia.

SRI LANKA – Pastor Assaulted - National Christian Evangelical Alliance
On July 23, a pastor of a church in Polonnaruwa district, North Central Province, Sri Lanka was brutally attacked by unknown assailants, according to the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka. The pastor was driving home from a prayer meeting when a group of men on motorcycles called out to him. When he stopped his vehicle and rolled down his window, the assailants attacked him with knives. He was able to prevent them from slashing his neck but sustained severe arm injuries. His vehicle was also damaged. The pastor eventually fled the scene and sought help. Pray for healing for the injured pastor. Ask God to bless the ministry of Christian workers spreading the Gospel in Sri Lanka amid opposition. |

Jul. 29, 2009 The Votes Are In................
Drum roll please………………………………………………..
The votes are in and it seems that for this month’s United We Kneel we are going to focus on the persecuted believers. If you are interested in learning about how to be more informed and specific about your prayers you can visit Voice of the Martyrs website at www.Persecution.com . I am hoping to get a post written up about persecution before August 3rd but we’ll have to see.
For September 3rd we will be praying for prodigals to come home. Doesn’t matter who it is, if you know someone who is away from the LORD, you can pray for them.
October will be our month to pray about abortion. Hopefully I can do a better job at being prepared and informing you before the date about the subjects we are praying for.
Thank you for all who have participated already and who are committed to praying on August 3rd! May the LORD bless you all abundantly!

The time is here to decide:
Need 1: The realization that abortion is murder and may the eyes of people be opened to how evil and against God it is
Need 2: Prodigal children to return back home to the LORD
Need 3: The persecuted Church which is among many nations
Leave me a comment and the final vote will be tallied tomorrow night!

Jul. 22, 2009 How The Lost Get Found
Winning The Lost
When has this subtle philosophy crept into our thinking? When has becoming like the lost given us an advantage to reach them. If we become like a dying world, how can we show them the life that Jesus/Yeshua offers? If we become like the world, how can we show them we’re different? If we blend in, how can we stand out? It is easy to take on the form of this world in the way we dress, what music we listen too, the language we use, and so on. If the world looks at us expecting to find something different and we are doing everything (with the exception of our faith) just like them, how can they see that Jesus/Yeshua makes a difference in our lives? In fact, if we say we have Jesus/Yeshua as our Savior and Lord of our lives, then why doesn’t He make a difference in our lives? If we truly are saved and submitting to the LORD, then it will show in our lives and we will no longer want to conform to the image of this world but the image of our LORD. If you love this world, then you’re in big trouble. “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15
My opinion on how to win the lost is the same as is portrayed in Scripture. Jesus/Yeshua did not conform himself to this world to “make the lost feel more at ease around Him”, He was the perfect image of God; exactly what we should all be striving for. He did not have to change who He was, what He wore, or what He did to bring in the lost. He just preached the truth, the sometimes painful truth, in love. He was different, He wasn’t just like everyone else. When we truly know Jesus/Yeshua it changes us, or at least it should. We should be offering light and hope, not confusing people by blurring the lines of distinction. We should be telling truth out of love, not discussing meaningless topics of futility. The time is short people! The harvest if ready to be gathered, not by friendship with the world, but a relationship with the LORD! Jul. 19, 2009 Update on my Brother
Update on My Brother
Most of ya’ll know from my previous prayer request that my brother has said that he, “Believes in God, but doesn’t want anything to do with Him at this point in his life.” Unfortunately, that still holds true right now. On Wednesday night my parents had to give him an answer about something he asked for their approval for, they had to tell him no and he chose to leave because he felt he couldn’t abide by Mom and Dad’s rules. He is currently living at my Aunt’s house about 20 minutes away. He came home Thursday night to talk to us and explained that he wasn’t leaving because he didn’t love us (at this point he teared up) but because he knew Mom and Dad had to hold firm on their boundaries but he couldn’t abide by them. Daniel’s best friend came over and talked to him and so did his parents and it gave him a lot to think about.
Some other encouraging things were that he was really tender and open to listen, he was very emotional, he took his Bible without being asked and it was harder to say goodbye this time for Him. He hugged us and kissed us numerous times. We are keeping the lines of communication open, he calls us and we call him. My Mom is also continuing to home school him in his Government and Economics course and so he has to come home at least once a week to have his tests graded. He is coming over today to change oil in his car with my Dad so please pray that that would be a fruitful time for both of them. So much good has already come out of this and we know that the LORD keeps His promises. The LORD has told all three of us that Daniel will bend his knee to Him and will come back home, now it’s just a matter of time. Please continue to pray that all ungodly influences will be removed from his life and the he would see and hear the LORD at every turn. May the LORD make his miserable until he turns to Him.
Below is a song that has really comforted my heart through all of this, here are the lyrics.

Trust Your Faithfulness
Brian Doerksen
I don't know what this day will bring
Will it be disappointing, filled with longed for things?
I don't know what tomorrow holds
Still I know I can trust Your faithfulness
I don't know if these clouds mean rain
If they do, will they pour down blessing or pain?
I don't know what the future holds
Still I know I can trust Your faithfulness
Certain as the rivers reach the sea
Certain as the sunrise in the east
I can rest in your faithfulness
Surer than a mother's tender love
Surer than the stars still shine above
I can rest in your faithfulness
I don't know how or when I'll die
Will it be a thief, or will I have a chance to say goodbye?
No, I don't know how much time is left
But in the end, I will know your faithfulness
When darkness overwhelms my soul
When thoughts and storms of doubt
Still I trust You are always faithful, always faithful
Certain as the rivers reach the sea
Certain as the sunrise in the east
I can rest in your faithfulness
Surer than a mother's tender love
Surer than the stars still shine above
I can rest in your faithfulness
I don't know what this day will bring
Will it be disappointing, filled with longed for things?
I don't know what tomorrow holds
Still I know I can trust Your faithfulness |

Jul. 17, 2009 Topic for Prayer Day August 3rd
Dear Friends and Fellow Prayer Warriors,
August 3rd is fast approaching and I am hoping to find a subject for prayer by July 27th so that we have time to focus in on our prayer need. So here's what I'm thinking.
Need 1: The realization that abortion is murder and may the eyes of people be opened to how evil and against God it is
Need 2: Prodigal children to return back home to the LORD
Need 3: The persecuted Church which is among many nations
These are just a few of my thoughts, if you have any, please feel free to comment them to me and on July 27th we'll have a vote for what the majority sees the greatest need for.
Keep On Fighting For The LORD,

Jul. 15, 2009 The Next Generation
Footprints to Follow
Maiden Princess
“Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself and example of those who believe.” 1 Timothy 4:12
We are, all of us as believers, to be an example to one another. Especially, though, us young adults; we need to be the example for the younger generation coming up. We need to make sure that our footprints, (meaning our lifestyles, our speech, our attitudes, and our faith) are leading to God and Him only. We need to leave footprints behind us that those who are following us can step in and go in the right direction. We need to leave footprints that we don’t have to be ashamed of, footprints that lead to the LORD. We have a huge responsibility to set the standard for the next generation. Will they remember us as complacent, and seeking after only what our desires were, or will they remember that we were focused on the LORD and seeking Him with our whole hearts? They will follow in our footprints, the question is, where will they lead?
Trusting In His Faithfulness,

My Mom typed this up this morning to send to all of our friends. My brother's desicion to not follow the LORD is breaking my parent's hearts. Please pray for all of us as we endeavor to be all that the LORD wants us to be through this time. Please pray that my parents would have strength to continue to encourage and minister to my brother through all of this. But most of all, please pray that the LORD would change his heart to want to come back to Him.

Dearest Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,
I come humbly before you all and ask that you intercede with us on behalf of the
soul of our son! When asked where he stood with God last night, he calmly said
that he believed that there was a God, but that he didn't want anything to do with
Him, church or fellowship. I can't even begin to tell you how this has broken my
heart into many pieces. I know that I must rally my brothers and sisters and we
must go before the throne of God with our petitions for my son and many others
that the Devil is trying to claim for his own, but he will not be victorious, because
we serve a faithful God who loves to rescue His children! Daniel as well as many
other young men and ladies are in a fight for their lives and we MUST stand in the
gap for them. The day of being passive for God is over, we MUST declare from
the rooftops that we are HIS, that we're not ashamed to be called HIS sons and
daughters. Our men need to reprioritize their lives and take back their families
for God and His glory. How many more young people do we have to watch
struggle before we take a stand and say NO MORE!!!! They are God's first and
we will NOT stand by and watch as the Devil tries to snatch them from us...let
us fight like never before, let us uphold each other in prayer and encouragement
and let us stand and watch the deliverance of our God and King!!!!! |

What Am I Going To Do With Myself?
“And they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:8
What am I going to do with myself? I’m vain, proud, impatient, loud, selfish, and on and on goes the list. I am destructive to myself if I continue in myself and my desires, in my flesh! So what am I going to do?
If I am fulfilling my desires to myself and not God’s desires for me, I CANNOT please Him. When I value my plans for my life over His, I CANNOT please Him. When I love other things more than I love Him, I CANNOT please Him. When I devote more time to other things besides Him, I CANNOT please Him. So again, what am I going to do? I’ll tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to get rid of myself and not give in to the desires of my flesh. I’m going to leave everything and I mean, all of my plans, my dreams, my desire for a husband someday, my family, my time, my schedule, my flaws, my strengths, all at His feet. (by this I mean, committing them all to His will)
My deepest desire is to PLEASE HIM. If I am in my flesh, it is impossible to please Him. Every time I start thinking I’ve got it all under control, I smite Him, I tell Him that His sacrifice isn’t good enough. I tell Him that I am a hypocrite. I tell Him that all I’m gonna do for Him is give Him my lip service. I WILL NOT do that any longer. He deserves my all, my entire life, all my efforts, all my devotion, all my time. Every day I live will be for Him. To glorify Him, to praise Him, to study Him, to serve Him, to love Him, to desire Him. No longer will I be consumed by my agenda, my dreams, my wants, and my life. It’s gonna be about Him, and what He desires. If that means that I need to move to Africa to be a missionary, His will be done. If that means that I get married to a farmer with green eyes in Illinois*, His will be done. If that means that I stay at home and serve my parents for the rest of my life, His will be done. I am His servant and as such should be about only my Master’s business. So what am I going to do with myself? Well, I’m gonna fill myself up with Him until I’m overflowing. That’s what I’m gonna do with myself. How about you?
Kneeling At His Feet,
Maiden Princess
*I do not know any green eyed farmers in Illinois. This is just hypothetical J.
