How Big Is Your God?

Is He Big Enough?

By Maiden Princess

“And looking at them Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” Matthew 19:26

My family and I have been pondering lately the lack of hope present in so many people.  Today at our Fellowship gathering we were talking about some recent suicides that had taken place around our area.  How sad that people are willing to kill themselves because they feel that no one loves them, that is there no hope for them, that there is nothing left to live for.  These kind of things are running rampant on the streets of our cities. This shouldn’t be happening.  It clearly shows that our effectiveness as children of the King is seriously lacking!

The problem lies in the fact that we are Believers don’t live with hope.  We don’t even live in joy no matter what the economy is, whether we like our President or not, we don’t truly trust God to provide for us no matter what.  If we truly believed that our God is as great and as big as we say He is, why aren’t our lives showing it?  If we have no hope, no joy, no love; then who can the people in the world turn to for an example?  How are we any different from the world? We just go through life saying we trust God and saying He’s great but not really believing it.  What is gonna take to open our eyes?

My God is big enough to bring my brother to his knees and bring him back home. My God is big enough to provide for my family even if my Dad loses his job or we have to move.  My God is big enough to orchestrate the perfect plan and the perfect place for me to meet my future husband. My God is big enough to tackle healthcare reform, abortion issues, homeschooling rights, and all the other issues this nation views as important.  My God is big enough.  My God is big enough to let me decide if I want to trust Him to handle these issues or if I am gonna take them into my own hands and try to reform them in my own power.

So am I going to trust an all-powerful all knowing God?  Am I going to believe that He is big enough to handle my problems, as well as carry the world in His hands?  Because if I believe it, if you believe it; it’s going to change the way we live!  It’s going to change the world.  It’s time to stand up and live fearlessly, committing all into the capable hands of our Maker and the Sustainer of our universe.  It’s time to put all of our worries and anxieties behind us and live like we have a God who’s gonna take good care of us no matter what.  It’s time to show the world what a difference it makes when your life is surrendered to the LORD!

How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin is a very popular song and lots of people love it.  I am one of them.  We sing about how great God is, yet we don’t live it.  Today is the day to put the voice of Satan playing in our minds behind us, and live only for the glory of the LORD with the child-like faith that our Father will provide for us and allow only what is for our good in our lives.  It’s time to live like we serve a BIG GOD!  We do!!!  NOTHING is impossible with Him!

So, how big is your God?  Mine is big enough to handle everything the world has to offer, including my life.  So just sit back, relax, and rest in the knowledge that God has it all under control.

Seeking His Wisdom,

Maiden Princess

VOM-USA Prayer Update for July 31, 2009

CHINA - Pastor Sent to Labor Camp – China Aid Association

On June 29, Pastor Dou Shaowen, who is currently serving a one-year sentence for “engaging in illegal activities,” was secretly transferred to Shifo Re-education Through Labor Center in Zhengzhou city, Henan province, according to China Aid Association. His family was not informed of his transfer. Pastor Dou, his wife Feng Lu and five other believers were arrested on June 14 when government officials raided and closed the Rock Church. The police confiscated computers and other church property. Pastor Dou and his wife were sentenced to a year in prison and the other believers were sentenced to 15 days in detention and fined 500 Yuan (US$ 73). Feng Lu, however, will serve her sentence at home so she can care for the couple’s 12 year-old daughter. China Aid reported Pastor Dou has been treated inhumanely in the labor camp. “When he wanted to talk to the police officers, he was forced to squat. He worked 18 hours a day from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. midnight. Over 70 people sleep in a room,” a source at China Aid said. “Due to the hot weather and the poor sanitary condition … some prisoners have eczema, herpes and other skin diseases. They have to work 18 hours a day without enough to eat.” Feng Lu tried to visit her husband in prison, but was told she was not allowed to visit him for a month. She is required to report to the Public Security Bureau police regularly, and could be sent to labor camp again if she is found “engaging in illegal religious activities” again.

Mohammed Sheikh Abdiraman, who had been a Christian for 15 years and was the leader of a group of underground believers, was shot at approximately 7:00 a.m. He is survived by two children, ages 10 and 15. His wife died three years ago due to illness. Ask God to comfort and guide Abdiraman's children in this difficult time. Pray that increased persecution will result in increased boldness among believers in Somalia.

SRI LANKA – Pastor Assaulted - National Christian Evangelical Alliance

On July 23, a pastor of a church in Polonnaruwa district, North Central Province, Sri Lanka was brutally attacked by unknown assailants, according to the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka. The pastor was driving home from a prayer meeting when a group of men on motorcycles called out to him. When he stopped his vehicle and rolled down his window, the assailants attacked him with knives. He was able to prevent them from slashing his neck but sustained severe arm injuries. Tomorrow Is The Day!

Will You Kneel With Us?

Tomorrow is the day!  I can’t believe it’s almost here.  It’s been almost two months since I felt God calling me to do this. He is faithful to complete the task which He has given.  I have faith that tomorrow God will do great things in the hearts of His people.  If nothing happens in our government but a passion ignites in our hearts, tomorrow will be a success, because whether our government acknowledges God or not, we are His children, and as so are called to leave everything else and follow Him.

If we truly grasp this and truly know what it means to be a follower of Christ we can have a HUGE impact on our society in ways that our government cannot control. Although they may refuse to call themselves Believers and act accordingly, we can still go about spreading His love and His name.  Although they make take our physical freedom, they cannot and will not, ever be able to take away the freedom we have found in Christ!

Please do not think that I am saying that praying for our government is not important, that is not it at all!  We are commanded by God to fear, respect, and honor those in authority over us and to pray for them (“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers and the praise of those who do right.  For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.” 1 Peter 2:13-17)

In fact, we are to try to honor our government is all ways possible for as long as we can.  (“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2)  Our prayer is not only that the men and women in our nation’s authority positions would turn their hearts to Him but that we would have the guts to do what it takes to not only pursue God and be His light bearers but to stand up while respecting our government to the best of our ability.  If we, at all times, honor and respect our government because of the position God gave them, will not be even more of an example to them?  Will not make them even more curious for the way He has changed our lives?

Please take the time tomorrow, and every day, to pray for our leaders and for the Believers in this country. I feel the winds of persecution beginning to blow, now more than ever we should, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Ephesians 6:10.  Now more than ever is the time for this generation of teenagers to arise and live to die to our desires so that Christ may be glorified in us.  Now more than ever is the time to stand up for what we believe in.  Now, more than ever is the time to kneel in prayer.  Join other teens around the nation tomorrow from 12-12 to pray for our government, our nation, and its Believers.

Just one last thing: “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3

Are you walking in the manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called?  Are you being salt and light or are you just luke-warm? Take a few moments to examine yourself and ask for God to reveal to you if you are deceiving yourself into thinking that you’re all good just because you call yourself a Believer.  Are you just a so-called-servant of Christ, or are you the real deal?  Have you wandered to the comfy side of the couch (your comfort zone) or are you out giving your life daily for the high calling of Christ?  In the years to come it’ll take all you’ve got to live for Him, are you ready?  Are you giving your all now, each and every day?  Am I?  We all should be!  Please also be praying for the building up of the body of the saints.  It is just as crucial a part as praying for our government leaders.  Today is the day of salvation!  Hallelujah!

“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.” Ephesians 6:18&24

Just A Reminder

United We Stand, United We Kneel

“Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness!” Psalm 143:1

Dear brothers and sisters in the LORD, I have felt called to head up a nation-wide day of prayer called “United We Kneel”.  It is a day for teenagers around the world to fall on their knees and unite in prayer before our Father, beseeching Him to bring our nation back to Him.  How far you take it is up to you.  You can fast all day, you can get all your immediate friends together for a prayer meeting, you can put flyers up all over your town or city, or you can just take time throughout the day to pray with a humbled and sincere heart.  Whatever you choose to do, nothing is too big or too small to escape the LORD’s notice.

Let us humble ourselves and implore our Father to ignite this world with an unquenchable passion for Him, ourselves included. NOW, is the time for us to stand together as we kneel!  NOW, is the time for us to make a difference! NOW, is the time for us to cry out! “And He said unto them, ‘Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say unto you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 (Emphasis mine)  Do you have faith to believe that prayer can change things? I do.

What will be praying for?

“And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:14-15  We will be praying that God will soften the hearts of the people of this nation and that they would fall on their knees and worship Him. That as a nation would repent of our pride and confess our dependence on the LORD.  We will pray that the Untied States of America would have a desire to seek the LORD with all of our hearts, souls, and minds, and then the LORD would show us the pleasing way unto Him in which we should walk.  We will, my friends, be praying for a revival!  “But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.”Deuteronomy 4:29  I truly believe that Friday July 3rd will be a day for a great spiritual awakening.  I truly believe that as we beseech the Father that He will soften many hearts to seek Him.  May the LORD’s will be done by us, His humble servants!

Spread The News:

Please set apart JULY 3RD for “Untied We Kneel”!  Pass this on to as many people as you know, let’s get the word out!  I have faith that this day will be incredible and used by the LORD, but one day of prayer alone is not going to completely turn this world around, it takes incessant prayer every day from each and every one of us.  It’s gonna take all of us standing up and “doing hard things”, being passionate, being completely on fire for the LORD, trusting Him enough to let go of everything we hold onto to. It’s gonna take a generation whose willing to stand up and face the darkness of the world with the Light of Christ.  I believe that when we kneel before our Father and stand for what He says is right we can and will have an impact!

Do you have faith that the LORD can use you no matter who you are or where you live?  All throughout the Bible God used ordinary everyday people to do extraordinary things for Him.  Will you be part of His great plan?  Will you kneel with us on July 3RD ?  Will you take a stand?

”The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” James 5:16c
