1. i hate the color yellow. i wont eat anything yellow, if i have a pack of M&Ms or something, ill take all the yellows out. all the kids form my church love hanging out with me while im eating cause they know theyll get all the yellows lol
2. i put my Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving so that everyone who comes to my house for Thanksgiving can enjoy it, even if they dont come back for Christmas. i looooooove Christmas!!!
3. i love my mother in law. now, i dont think thats weird cause shes so wonderful, but i know a lot of people arent as blessed as i am and would think thats weird ( I LOVE YA MOM!!!!)
4. im from southern ohio, (dont live there anymore  ) but i dont have an accent anymore. i actually wish i was more of a hick!! it ocmes out when i get mad or start talking fast, but i sure wish i could be a hick again!! i didnt know you could loose an accent!! lol
5. i like being blonde even if its obviously fake and my eyebrows are a different, darker color everyone picks on me, but ya know what, deal with it!! lol.
wow, this is hard, i think someone else should do this for me, lol
6. i dont teach my kids that they can be anything that they wanna be, like the rest of the world. they cant! what if they say "i wanna be a turtle" can they? no! so dont tell them they can be anything! help them in everything, but dont make it completely open if its not.
7. if you take me to Kings Island (or any amusement park) i am worse than a kid. i literally run from coaster to coaster. i cant get enough in one day!! theres so much to do and i take every precious second to ride those great rides!! their sooo fun!!! i dont even like stopping to go to the bathroom , lolol. (but, yes, i do lol)

Praising God for today!!
yesterday was a baaaaaad day. i wont go into all the reasons, but it was frustrating and hard! but today....
my husband took the older kids to the library, which theyve been realllly needing to go, but we hadnt gottne down there. i kept the 3 younger ones here. the baby (the i babysit for), whos been doing nothing but screaming lately, slept the whole time!! my youngest sat and watched tv, which she hasnt done in forever, im ok with that, but it was nice that she was off in her own world for a while and left me be, giving me time for me and my 1st grader to sit and work hard on his school work and he got a lot done, a lot more than he had in a while.
now they got home from the library and the kids are all reading thier books (another BIG struggle lately) and lovin it and the babys still asleep, and my 1st grader is working on tomorrow work jtus so he can get it done early! somebody pinch me!! i must be dreaming!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! |

another new baby
| my nephew and his girlfriend just had a baby girl last night. she was very early, born at only 30 weeks. she is 2 pounds, 5 ounces. i dont know any other details on her yet, but am anxious to find out. prayers for the family would be appreciated. hopefully i will get to go to the hospital today and see her! |

ECOT and Thursday Thirteen
Well,
weve made the decision for our oldest (and possibly the next to oldest) to do charter school for the remainder of this year. im excited to see how it will work out. im not sure yet if this will be easier r harder, but i wont be doing lesson plans, that will be a nice change. i wont know what to do with my weekends :) well, ill still have lesson plans for the younger ones. b ut th is will give me more time with my younger ones ive gone back and forth as to wether this is ok or not. i feel some guilt. i should be super mom and should be able to keep all this on my plate and do it well. but right now, quite honestly, i just cant! so i guess we'll see how this works :) im anxious to get started.

Today
well today didnt turn out too awful bad. we spent the morning at the dr and the pharmacy. man, they took forever!! but all my kids have been medicated now. theyve all had strep throat and hopefully their all gonna jstu get better now nad we can finally move on. i babysit nad havent seent he baby for almost 2 weeks now because he hasnt beenab le to be here cause weve all been sick! i wonder if he thinks we abandoned him? lol. poor little guy.
we actually all did sit down and do some school today. we will still have to catch up a bit tomorrow, but we got more done than i expected since we spent soo much time doing other things. so its ok.
the kids are loving spanish. i think im gonna hafta order some help though. im not very good at it :(
were still waiting to be able to see the baby again. i cant wait to see him!!! and his momma too, of course :) i wish they li8ved closer and we could see them more.
youngest son is ready to get back to reading again. grandma cant come over until the other kids are better, i think she might be missing the reading time as well. we miss having her here every day, thats for sure!!! but it shouldnt be too much longer before were all done with this nasty bug!!

Beyond exhausted!!
well, its Sunday night again. We havent "officially" done school for 2 weeks. we had company (my dad) for a week, and i decided to take a break so we can spend time wiht him because we dont get that very often and im not sure how much we'll get in the near future. then, we had a new grand baby, and ever since then, the kids, one by one, have been battling strep throat! the last 2 have it right now. poor things, im so tired that i have no strength left to care for them. they come and say their sick and all i can say is "aww im sorry baby"
i feel like the world is spinning around me so fast that i cant breathe, much less do anything. i feel as though ive failed at every thing and the more i try the worse it gets. this is not a good way to start a new week. i want to be energized. i want to be ready. yet all i can do is sit.
i do have a good weeks worth of lesson plans done, of course, i will have to call the dr when i get up so who knows when we'll get to it, but hopefully it goes well.
we have decided to enroll our oldest in an online charter school. im hoping it works out because i think he is really needing some outside help. hes doing ok, i just cant seem to motivate him or keep him focused. but it seems he can for others, like his co op classes hes taking and absolutely loving. if he does well with it, we may sign our next to oldest up for it as well. that should take some stress off me. im anxious to see how it will work out. it will be a few weeks probly before he is completely enrolled.
this week im excited because we are going to start a unit on states. we will do 2 states a week. we will learn about them, where they are, what the shape is, state flag, bird, animal, capital, all that. and compare the 2 that we learn and then compare them to our own state. i think it will be interesting.
we will also be starting our 2nd week of spanish. the kids are loving spanish, they are always asking if we can do it first, lol. its cute. ive caught them trying to teach the 2 year old as well.
were all anxious to get to see our precious grandson again. not sure when we will get to see him, but just cant wait!!
well ive got more to say but it would probly border complaining, so instead i think ill just go to bed. hope everyone has a great week. i am going try. this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it, right? it doesnt say juts when things are good. it just says rejoice. so thats what im gonna try and do :) if you happent ot hink of it and would like to, i would appreciate prayers. comments would be cool too :) |

meet my first grandson!!!
last night the most amazing thing happened! my very first grandson was born!! he is 8 pounds 6 oz. and 20 inches long and has a head full of dark gorgeous brown, a little curly hair. he is precious! i am completely amazed at this experience!! ive never ben on this side of having a baby. leaving that hospital was sooo hard! i cant wait until i can see him again!!! this will not allow me to post pictures for soem resaon and im too tired to figure it out right now, but i will post them as soon as i can figure it out

Gosh, its been a long long long time since Ive been able to be on here. I havent gotten to visit any ones blogs or anything. Did everyone give up on me? im sorry :( but im here again. Theres so much that i want to say because so much has happened. but i dont think i have room for everything, so.... Ill just start with an update.
We have started school and its going well. My mother in law, who, as Ive alwasy said, definatly wins the best mom in law award!! i hope i can be that good of a mom in law when i have daughters in law!! She has started teaching reading to my precious Sammy and it is going so well. He is doing great and i think they have formed a little extra bond between the 2 of them. I know Sammys loving it. His birthday is coming up and he told me "I know Ill get whatever i want cause my grandma is coming to my party" lol.
She also has started something else with all the kids. She is doing a student of the week and student of the month. she is goign to get small gifts for student of the week and student of the month, she will take out for lunch one afternoon. how cool is that!! i think its helping them with motivation. at first, i had mentioned that one was in the lead and a few of them started whining "no fair, i want to win" i just said well, it wont happen that way and their starting to try and work for it. its been great!! i made up a chart to help them track what place thier in, in the running for it.
The older kids are taking a writing class which im real excited about. i think they will do great. Alexs teacher even told me he so focused (???) my son?? focused? lol. how great that hes doing well there. now if i can just figure out how to channel that into our home! lol. Dannis loving it and even though she is shy, she is speaking out and she made a new friend. After the writing class, rotating weeks is art and music. we did art last week, which they lvoed, this week they will do music, i think their all excited about that. soemthing called Boomwhackers? never heard of them but they sure do look neat!!
Our first grandchild is just weeks (or any minutes!!) away from being born. He is due in one week. were all excited about that!! Weve been getting to see the girls more and just loving having them with us again. weve missed them so much!! Ill post pictures when little Gavin Carter Loughman is born!!
Ive got lots more to say but dont want to make this a mile long, so i wont. I will try and get into the routine of posting every morning. go ahead and comment me telling me to get busy if i dont, ok? have a great day!! |

Update
This has been a crazy busy week.
VBS is going great! The kids are having a great time, and honestly, so am I! At the beginning of the week, i had said "im not teaching next year, this is it for me!" well, God has made this week really great. i was getting all worked up because the materials we are using, i dont really like and most the teachers agreed that it was so confusing it was hard to even tell what you were supposed to teach. it is the same company that we use for Sunday School and i have to take what i can from it then create my own from that (still teaching what im supposed to teach so tat i follow the church, jtus not teaching it the way that this company tells me to, but in my own way). it works out just fine. so i did the same for VBS nad is workign out great! last night i taught about Jesus. I fell so unworthy to teach about His death and our salvation. but i think it went well. i even had kids come up to me afterwards and ask questions about the Bible! that was encouraging to me. We got to invite a kid whos family has left our church, and he got to go to VBS then spend the night with us. that was neat to get to have him there.
God is so good that im just overwhelmed to even think about it. Im so blessed. Hes done everything and more for me. how can i complain about anything? I cant wait to one day go to heaven and be with Him forever!!
Since this is our official school blog, i guess i should give an update on school. I gave all our stuff to a teacher to do our end of year assessment. she had it for a few weeks and said that she called the local school district (who is very NOT homeschool friendly!!) and they took forever to call her back. then when they did, they told her that she is not able to sign my papers. ugh! i think their wrong, but regardless, she cant do it so now i hafta find another teacher. there is a lady at my church who is a teacher, but she may only be able to do it for all but oldest. i dont understand why this is so hard to find every year. well, i know why, because the local school district tells thier teachers not to do this for homeschoolers. my step mom has a teacher friend who lives about 2 1/2 hours away, im very tempted to jtus go to her and say please will you do this for us.
Im recovering well from my surgery. I think i have just about all we need fro next year, so pretty soon i will be going thru that and getting stuff prepared for next years school. itll be here before i know it!!

sad :(
Im just sad today, and i cant even explain it. I just dont feel like i belong any where. Like im an annoyance to everyone around me. Id rather die than be on someones nerves. Feeling like a failure at everythign ive done. I guess maybei ts just a "rainy days and mondays always get me down" sorta thing, i dunno.
So for today, I would just like to crawl up in my Savors lap and let Him hold me and carry me thru the day. If i can get thru this day with out bawling like a baby all day, thatll be nice. Today is also our first day of VBS. thats good and bad for this mood ive woken up into. Good because, well, its VBS!! but, im teaching, which means i teach for 25 mintues and the rest of the time (2 1/2 hours!!) i dont have anything else to do. ill feel like im in the way and worthless. so if your reading this, a prayer for me today would be nice. i dont even know what for :( but I know that God knows. Ill keep looking to Him and let Him take care of the rest. Let Him carry me thru. |

i have to have surgery!!
| i have a dermoid tumor that needs to come out. i am terrified! i will be attempting to explain this to my kids today. i will be in the hospital at least over night. prayers would be appreiciated, i dont have any insurance and im scared to see how much this is going to be., i have no idea how i will pay for this, but i k now God will take care of us. ill update when its all over. |

havent been able to get on my blog
I havent posted in a while, but this time its not my fault. i havent been able to get on my blog! everytime i tried, it went to a screen that was blank excpet for "this page not available". i thought i was in trouble for something or something, lol. anwyays, heres a quick update before i get dinner started...
WERE GOING TO BE GRANDPARENTS!!!! i dont think ive mentioned this before here (cant rememebr its been so long sinceive been on here, lol) My husbands daughter, whom ive always thought of as my own and loved her as my own (but not in a way to take away from her mother, just as second mom, i guess, lol) is about 20 weeks pregnant with or first grandson!! im so excited i cant hardly stand it!! weve been thru a lot, and im j ust happy to have her in our lives and now get to be grandma as well!! the kids are all very excited to be aunts and uncles. of course, my daughter (8) is very upset that its yet another boy, but she will adore him anyways and im sure she will be a great aunt!!
were done with school for this year! ive got the stuff all boxed up and ready to give to the teacher for the end of year assessment! we have been just relaxing and we will start probly next week with summer schedule stuff (some reading and just misc stuff.) we need to find some new interesting books. the twins have really started reading now and thats so cool. they love it! sammy is almost there, hes starting to get the hang of it.
i guess thats about all i have for right now. i need to get busy on dinner pretty soon. hopefully i can get back on here agian next time im ready to post!! have a great day!! |

well, today has been a fairly good day. kinda in a daze, but still a good day. I need to grade schoolwork, but i believe were all done with it. its almsot time for piano lessons. so this is a day we need to be done early.
yesterday, we did the chemistry experiements hat grandma sent to us. i wish all school coudl be that much fun!! the kid were all real interested and it wnt great!~ we still have a few more experiemnets to do, theres 8, we did 4. the kids all had a blast.
My hubby took me out last nigth for my birthday. he gave me an engagement ring!! (mine had broken about a year ago an i havent had one) it s beautiful! now if can just keep my fingers from swelling so i can keep it on, itll be awesome!! we had a nice dinner (really big and really good steak!!) and then walked arond the mall for a while. who can complain with hat?? not me!

Were done!!
Well, for todya, I have kept my word. It is lunch time and I am posting. Arent you proud, mom?
Weve had a great day. Stil didnt get up the tiem i wanted to, but the kids got moving (quicker than momma, i migth ad, yay kids!!) and got busy on school work, an for today, w are done with our pperwork! we still have reading to do, but other than that, we are don with todays school! how cool is that!! by llunch time!! im so proud of the kids, they really did work hard this morning. Also, of couse, praising God for th awesome day!
I guess this is my birthday present! a great day!! awesome!!
Las night was cool. As i mentioned, or parents came over and my mom brought a cake for me. it was a lot of fun and good food. my mom makes such great cakes!! no much left, but thats a good thing because I would sit nad eat it all and i really need to loose some weight. My mom in law is going to ake me and my daughter out to eat and shopping!!! i cant wait!!!! Thats always soooo much fun!!
Ok, back to school...
I believe we have hit the point where we are starting to wrap up our year. i still would lik to get ahold of soemthhng that says waht ach child shodl "typically" know by the end of a perticular school year, but I think were pretty close. We will hopefully be taking a few field trips in may and june. iw ant to set p a trip with our homeschool group to Tecumseh! the live outdoor drama which is totally AWESOME!!! and id like to go to Cincinnati and go to the underground Railroad museum and the Creation Museum and newort Aquarium. but thats gonna be a lotta lotta money so we will hafta see about that. w will do a lot more reading this summer, as well. but for the other stuff, i think wre ready to start wrapping it up. we probly need to hit a little harder the science and art feilds. I think when i finish out this weeks stuff nad do next weeks lesson plans i might take a good long hard look at what w need to focus on to finihs ot the year and go that route for the remainder of April. I have no idea how, but it looks lik we will actually finsih at the end of April as planned this year! yippeeee!! Then i will be spending the summer going thru everything i have, selling what i dont need and rying to figure out how to do next school year. man, my babies are growing up tooo fast!! im so glad i homeschool and get o have them home with me and watch them grow up insead of shipping them off to strangers each day! praise God for making me do this!!! yes, its all his doing, i cant believe im doing this!!! But He gets me thru!! |

Were back
Yes, i know, its been a while since my last post. Im so sorry. Forget the excuses, I wont even try 
After 2 weks off "official" school (because we always do school, just sometimes we break from the actual paperwork and "live" school. (take every day things and learn from them, i think we learn more doing that than anything else sometimes!!) Anyways, some things have happened that prevented us from doing school and now were back. its been an interesting 2 weeks. ive done some things ive never done before and things i hope to never do again! like for example, attending the funeral of a 16 year old murder victim! But Ive noticed some things and ive grown in some things in my understnading. So, just like the Bible says, "all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose" Boy is that true! oh man, ive got so much to say to that subject, but im sorry, i just realized this is my school blog and im sorry, i geus i nd to stick to our school stuff. ok, so here we go...
Starting of school today went well as far as attitudes go. Circumstances, not so much. We slept a little longer han i had planned. The dog is sick. drooling all over the place and barking and nipping at us all. The babys fussy. almsot acs like shes teething, but i dont thats the problem. i dont think shes rally sick either, i jsut think shes fussy wih a runny nose, lol. im not feeling too awful great. but im really blown away at Gods goodness thru this homeschool journey. we had art first off and the kids all cheered! yes, my kids cheered at school work!! and they did great, too!! then off to spelling. which also went great. w got a few more hings done with out incident and then i realized it was time for lunch. so we took a break for food. and thats where we ar now. we still have a bit of school left to do, but i expect it to go ok. until w get to the dreaded... the hardest subject of all... reading. i expect a few fits to be thrown then but we'll get thru them.
We need to get school done because we have an exciting night planned!! Tomorrow is my birthday, yes, i will be turning 18... again... for the.. um... ive lost count of how many times ive turned 18, lol. mine and my husbands parents are coming over for dinner! im so excited! i love to have company! and i get to make dinner for everyone!! i know, im weird, but i lke that!! i like to serve and to be the hostess! my mom is making a cake because well i dont really want to make my own birthday cake and dont want to buy one because to be completely honest, my mom makes them much better than any bakery!! and, of course, i still say, and always will that i have the best inlaws ever!! (hi mom!!!) So, were all looking forward to tonight. I may ven go easy on the fusy eaters who wont lik what were having for dinner and let them have hot dogs or something. wow, what a treat! lol.
Anyways, ive got lots to say, but i probly already have yall in shock that im actually posting again so i dont want to over do it, lol. im gonna try and get in the habit of posting during lunch, so check back arond lunch time for hopfully a new post. have a great day!! dont forget to leave comments!!! |

A new uncle
As some of you know, my brother died 2 years ago. My kids and I were devastated. We have been really struggling ever since then. I think we have relly started to make our way thru it, then one of my twins j ust started loosing it over nothing. just crying out of hte blue. he said "i miss Robb!" (my brothers name) Well, i dont want to dwell on this any more, but its been hard. Anywyays. my husband has a sister. She is getting married soon. He fiance' has been over for Christmas nad Thanksgiving and all, and weve gotten to know him. Then he came over not too long ago to help us out with some problems we were having wiht the hosue. The twins played and played wiht him. I had hoped that they werent getting on his nerves and my mother in law told me that he just loved it. cooL! but even cooler was now theyve started calling him "Uncle Mike" and i think that having soemone else to call "uncle" is really helping them. Not that they are ever goingt o replace him in thier hearts, i dont mean that. but having another uncle is helping. wow! how cool is that!! praise God for uncle Mike!!!

This week's plans
This week will be more of a "together" week. We are hitting hard the history, health and science books. All the other subjects will come from those books and we will learn them together. I am also going to have the older 2 doing a report together. Migth be interesting. They get along real good together, so I think if they really try, it will be real good. Im going to let them decide who does what and (wiht my supervision, of course!!) put them in control of it, and hoping that will help them be more respoinsible. I think it will work out good.
This homeschoool thing, man, its tough!! Sometimes I feel so inadequate, but its then that i realize that "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me!!" Im so glad i can keep my babies at home with me!
On a different note, My precious shy baby girl got up in front of the whole church yesterday with the kids choir and did her solo wonderful! We were all in tears at how far shes come and praising God for her! She did wonderful!! And now, they have thier songs for the next thing and shes got another solo!! she says she wants more! WOW!! this is hte same kid who, one year at a VBS program, 50 or so kids up on stage singing and dancing, she stands there not even breathing. totally motionless for the whole thing!! then as she got a little older, she just stood there and cried! now shes doing solos!!! Pretty cool!! |

Praising Gd!!
| This morning we are doing pretty good. But this is awesome. We got up early, all thanks to my husband and none to do wiht me, i just couldnt wake up at all, again!! Anyways, we did our Bible study, even though the baby and dog didnt want us to and make every effort to stop it. Then i said "breakfast time". knowing full well that the cupboards are getting very rare. cereals gone. poptarts are gone and bread is about gone, so no toast. not enouhg eggs to fix everyone eggs. ugh, what are we gonna do, i thought? we dont have the time or the money to go to the grocery store, but ok, ill figure something out. i went out and found soem frozen sausgae patties my mom had given me quite a while ago. a carton of those "already mixed up, better for you eggs" that was almost gone, but of coures, had just enough. and pancake mix, and soem apple juice that i didnt know was there! now weve had breakfast and are all full. even a few leftover sausgae patties for the dog to play with then eventually eat!. cant tell me God dont provide for His children! I love these kinda times, when He proves to me once again that all i need to do is trust Him and He truely will "supply all my needs"!! God is so good!! |

Not too bad of a day
WE have done pretty good this week. Have been getting up early and having devotional time, then getting busy on school work. This morning, i was wondering if it would happen at all. i couldnt get up at all. I finally woke up around 8 but just couldnt get moving. The kdis were um, not getting along too well. But somehow, praise God, we muttled thru and are doing great now. Everyone is happily eating lunch and we are on a break. We are not too far form being done with school!
My daughters goal in life is to be a waitress. So todya, i wrote everyones name on a p iece of paper. I put 3 choices by each name. Then she got to be the waitress and give them thier choices and ask what they would like. she filled in the form and brought it to me and then helped me get it together. It worked great. i may have just started something here. it was nice :)
Our week with the Underground Railroad has proved to be very interesting. I have learned a lot. One day, i had the kids hide and i made them wait in their hiding places for a while (not too long, dont start calling childrens services or anything, lol) and then came looking for them. as i did, i barked like a dog. we talked about how the dogs would pick up their scent and find them. A movie we got (follow the drinking gourd) taught u s that they would put pepper on the ground and that would upset the dogs and make them stop looking. Weve done some neat things with this. we are going to make up some secret codes tomorrow.
We also have been learning about safety. we are making an escape plan in case of fire. we had a fire drill yesterday and came up with our meeting place and whos responsible for what. The kids had a great time.
We watched that new show last night "are you smarter than a 5th grader" it proved to me that we need to spend a lot more time on those "extra" subjects like histroy and science. those are definately our "needs work" area!!
On a different note, someone posted a note on here that they read my blog but posted as anonymous. I wonder if maybe you could tell me who you are? Sorry, anonymous makes me nervous because of all the trouble with preditors. i just never know who to trust. Please dont take this wrong. Im so gald that soemone is actually reading my blog! and i appreciate the comment. just tend to be a bit on the nervous side in "public", ya know?
