Mar. 11, 2008 - Today's notes (3/11/2008)
We headed back to the Brandywine zoo today for Art at the Zoo. The kids had so much fun. You know, that zoo is wonderful for little tykes. It's much more relaxing because it's small and the only ones that are ever walking around are other homeschoolers (at least during the hs programs that we attend) and the occasional grandparent bringing their grandchild for a tour. I can let the babies out and they can walk along looking at the exhibits. I could never do that for an entire walk through the Philadelphia zoo.
After the zoo, I decided to treat the kids to lunch so we drove through Wendy's, which is a rare moment indeed. Then we headed to the playground for a few hours of more fun. The babies took a short car nap from the zoo to the park, so they were energized enough to go down the slide about fifty times and swing for twenty minutes. It's exhausting to the arms to push a swing any longer, otherwise they would have been content to swing even longer.
I picked up Ariella's friend, Maeghan on our way home. We tried to pick up one of Kaylah's friends too, but it didn't happen. The babies crashed when we got home and so I was able to get a load of wash in, check e-mail, and clean up a little while the girls played Polly Pockets outside on the picnic table. Then it was off to Chapter book club for Ariella and Maeghan. Ariella's doing really well withthat. The last book she read completely on her own. This week's book is a 5th grade level, so I'm anxious to see how she does with it. Maeghan and her are the youngest in the group, but the librarian assures me that she does great with understanding and discussing the books.
Tonight, we went to Penney's with my mom to pick out Easter outfits and Ariella's First Communion dress. She picked out a beautiful one...pics will definitely be uploaded for that one. And the kids will be looking pretty spiffy next Sunday. Stay tuned for those pics too.
