Jul. 17, 2009 - Waiting on the inspection report
That's what we're up to. We've received an offer, signed the agreement of sale and had the house inspected by the buyer. Now, the radon test is getting picked up tomorrow morning and we'll hopefully get the report tomorrow afternoon or on Monday at the latest. Of course, we don't actually get the report but any negotiations that the buyer is going to make because of the inspection should hopefully come by Monday. We've got the UHaul ready to get picked up the day before settlement and I have my list of fifty things I have to do between now and then. Lots of phone calls. It's crazy that we've been p[lanning for a year to go and now it's here and there's so much to do. Most of our house is already packed up (part of decluttering and making the house look roomier) so that part won't be too difficult. It's all the mail forwarding, medical records, utility cancellations, yada yada. But it's all part of moving and now we're finally moving into the new chapter of our life.
P.S. The showing that we had before (the one I blogged about) fell through...according to their realtor they were in the middle of signing an aggreement of sale and the husband was informed that he lost his job. The couple buying our house was a single showing and a complete suprise when I received the phone call.
UPDATE: The inspection(s) went great. We had a regular inspection and then the buyer brought back a mold specialist because he suspected mold in our basement. We "passed" and they decided that contingencies have been met. Closing has been scheduled and all we have left is the packing, phone calls, and good-byes!
