Jun. 13, 2007 - The Heritage of the Servants of the Lord
I have been meditating on a passage of scripture lately. It is all in gratitude to someone who posted it as encouragement on the BPA Yahoo! Group. Every time I read it, it speaks to my heart and causes me to think about my heritage from the Lord. I need to be reminded that I have a heritage. Not made with earthly hands for that will be destroyed but with the hands and heart of my Heavenly Father that loves me and cares for me like no one else can. Not only does He love and care for me, but He loves and cares for my children more than I ever could. As part of my heritage, He promises that the peace of my children will be great! Only your creator, your father can know that the most precious thought someone can give a mother is a thought for her children. Isaiah 54:13, "All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children." Hallelujah!
The next time you fret over the education of your children, choosing the *right* curriculum, the right method, remind yourself of your heritage from your Heavenly Father. Your children will be taught of the Lord and they will have great peace!!! What more could we ask for?
11 “ O you afflicted one,
Tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems,
And lay your foundations with sapphires.
12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,
Your gates of crystal,
And all your walls of precious stones.
13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD,
And great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15 Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me.
Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.
16 “ Behold, I have created the blacksmith
Who blows the coals in the fire,
Who brings forth an instrument for his work;
And I have created the spoiler to destroy.
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the LORD.

Jun. 8, 2007 - Education: The Forgotten Key to Discipleship
I have just read a very encouraging article titled Education: The Forgotten key to Discipleship. I call it encouraging, others might view it as convicting while others might see it as the author being judgmental of those who choose to place their children in public school.
This is one of those articles that needs to be saved to your computer and placed in a file folder called Encouragement. Everyone needs one of these files either in printed form or stored on your computer in a special folder. We all go through times of discouragement and wondering if we are doing the right thing by choosing to homeschool. Even though I fully believe that God has commanded us to homeschool our children, seeds of doubt still try to creep their way into my thinking that will eventually penetrate my heart if I allow them to. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." Use this article as a tool to keep your heart, it will strengthen you and rekindle the flame of your convictions to homeschool. You can find this article here. You will need Adobe Reader.

Jun. 2, 2007 - Why On Wisdom's Path?
I have chosen the title of this blog "On Wisdom's Path" because I am endeavoring to fill my heart, mind and soul with God's wisdom. Why? So that I might lead my children down the path of discovering God's wisdom.
In our home education, we have chosen The Principle Approach. I am just learning this approach for myself so I am on a new journey. To learn PA, I have chosen to study "A Guide to American Christian Education" by James B. Rose. I have joined the GACEstudy Yahoo! Group and we are starting a "formal" study on June 11th. I hope to post what I am learning here.
"Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding."
Proverbs 4:7

Jun. 1, 2007 - I Have Taken the Plunge!
After reading so many wonderful blogs and seeing my sister in law and a dear friend jump on the band wagon, I have decided to start my very own blog! Of course I have chosen a very dignified title "On Wisdom's Path" (which my husband and I laughed at). At any rate, I am hoping that this will be place of comfort for those who need comfort and encouragement for those who need encouragement as we choose to educate our children at home, following God's command.
