Blue spiders, etc.
A guy I know from youth group is in the hospital with a foot infection, which he got while playing soccer barefoot. Go figure.
Anyway.
His mom was telling us how dangerous he is with a hammer. Apparently, he was under their mobile home once, doing some electrical wiring. With a hammer in hand. And a huge spider (blue, he says) dropped on to his chest. And, of course, he took the instinctive course of action -- squish it. And, of course, he did not set the hammer down first.
Ouch.
At least he didn't then bump the hammer into some of the wiring.
(Funny side note... he's color blind. I pointed this out and he protested that it looked blue to him.)
He could use a bit of prayer that his foot will heal up with no further problems.
Well, that's the big news here. Tomorrow I'm off to bake cookies for a wedding.

Spiders are quite interesting creatures.
Of course, I only see them for a second before they're reduced to a splat on the sidewalk. *evil grin* But yeah, he shoulda set the hammer down first. >_<
