Here we go again...

With yet another Note to Self entry!

I am a fairly good swimmer, nothing wonderful, but I can get around in a pool.  I can even pass deep water tests, which is a good thing.  As we often have memberships to swim at our Junior High's pool in the winter, and at the community pool in the summer, I have picked up various tricks -- somersaults, flips, backflips, etc.

Well.

I was in a moonwalk/jump house/bounce house thing the on Saturday (at a wedding reception) and decided to try doing a flip.  Obviously, if you are as "athletically challenged" as I am, that is a good place to try doing things like flips.  I mean, how hurt can you get?  You don't have anything to hit into that isn't a layer of air!

I probably would have done fine... except... I forgot... about that little thing called GRAVITY!!

<----- behavior of a gravity particle

In theory, I knew about it.  But I forgot that when you're in the pool, the water slows down the rate at which you fall.  Suffice it to say, my timing on my flip was a little off.  With the result that I moved my hands a little too soon, and landed on my head.   <<<<<

                                              ^

Owww.                                     ^

                                                   ^

It did not leave me smiling, like  ^ that little blue guy.

I was rather startled.

Fortunately, I'm young and healthy and recovered rapidly.  ^_^

Nonetheless, maybe it's a good thing I'm taking Physics this year... maybe I'll learn a thing or two...

Oh yeah, all that reminds me, our hospital puts up the weirdest signs.  There had been one of a guy standing on his head which said "Felt this good lately?"  Personally, I thought it was a kind of strange definition of good, as he looked off his head.  I mean, on his head.  Anyway, it looked like he needed to be stuck in a nice, quiet room with padded walls.

There was another which said "Don't let wounds slow you down."  I thought that was incredibly BAD advice.  Unless I'm missing something, you really ought to slow down if you have wounds.  *cough cough*  ... wait, that's a story for another time.

And the one which is up and bugging me at the present...  "Everyone loves your new hip."

AHHH!!  It's just so WEIRD!!!

Come sword-dance

huh

Yeah, I've heard of this gravity thing you speak of. It tends to be there when you try to do flips in abnormal places, climb random buildings, walk on icy pavement, and *cough* run on wet grass. Sometimes it's just plain inconvenient. :P

I got your letter today. Whee! ^_^ I won't bother replying though, since I'll see you on Monday! I CAN'T WAIT! *grins*
