Mom's experiment...

So I decided to try a science experiment of my own.... LOL My hypothesis pretty much proved correct. I decided to see if I didn't cook anything would they cook; find something to eat; or whine until I gave in?? I didn't say anything, just quietly went about my day.... I could feel them looking at me as dinner time came and went. The neighbor had cake and ice cream for their 2 year olds birthday, so my kids went over there last night. My husband just took up his usual position in front of the TV, and occasionally stared at me... I could see the wheels turning in his brain... "She's not mad at me.... Did I do something??.... Is there no food??...I thought we went grocery shopping already....." (of course he didn't ask... He's been married to me long enough to know that if I do happen to be angry it's better to let me work it over in my own mind than to bring it up...) ![]() You see the ONLY times in the past that I haven't cooked where because either I was mad & on strike; or we hadn't went shopping yet, so there was nothing to cook.... I always cook. They always eat... This is the reason for this experiment. I was dying to see how this worked out. I also picked the day.... Yesterday was perfect for this experiment.... Yesterday was prayer meeting at my church...and I'm the only one that goes to this. Plus, it is over early enough that I could see them eating... lol SO as the minutes continue to creep by, DH is getting more nervous. I know this because when the kids asked if we wanted a piece of cake sent home, he rushed a quick affirmitive. (He usually would say 'no thank you' to sweets) How funny. OK, result.... I get home from prayer meeting to find DH & my 2 beautiful darlings eating cake & ice cream... the baby was passed out on the couch. & DH was CRANKY! He could have made some Mac & Cheese or something... Anyway, I made some speghetti late last night so that DH would have some to take to work for lunch tomorrow. So he should be in a better mood today. & then I'll explain my experiment to him...... or maybe ![]() |
