Money Saving Tips!
Hello!
Well, if you are anything like me you are looking for ways to save your family a few dollars here and there! So, I decided to post a few of my favorite things to save a dollar (or two!).
First of all I do pricematching at my local Walmart! I thought everyone knew about this, but I guess not!  So, pricematching is simply when a company (in this case Walmart!) decides to match the prices of it's competitors. What that means for the consumer (in this case me!) is that I get great deals on the stuff Walmart doesn't usually have good deals on... (like fruits and veggies!). Cons: this takes time. You've got to first scan the ad's; then make your menu around what is on sale! (more money saved) Then check your pantry for the ingredients; finally make your shopping list!  This took me about 1 hour and a half the first time I did it! (but I saved about $20...)
Now it takes about 1/2 an hour to do and I can usually do something else, at the same time! =)
Ok, the kid's should be up from their naps soon, so I'll make it quick! I found a website that has a great emergency menu! What: a way to feed your family for a grand total of $45 for the WHOLE week! =) What I did was incorporate some of these frugal recipes into our menu, and voila! Savings! Cons: some of these recipes took some getting used to, but almost all of the ones I tried were yummy! Even my picky eater liked them!

Sorry, I don't know how to do links!
One more quickly! I found this blog! WOW! Thats all I can say... amazing tips, and just all around encouragement to put your priorities in order! This particular story I LOVED... honestly the comments were just as entertaining! lol
What: how to make your own laundry detergent!
Cons: um... I guess finding the ingredients would be the biggest con! At least thats all I could think of! I bought enough for two 3 gallon buckets of detergent with only $6. And I have  MOST of the stuff to make 2 more buckets! I would need maybe another $3. Awesome deal, huh!? and the 'slime' really works! lol Oh, and it only takes about 10 minutes to make. Actually, when we were done making the first batch we decided to make the next one right then and there. Because we were in the mood, and it went so quickly! DH had a blast! lol

I have been making my own laundry soap for years and it saves money and is more sensitive on allergies. For that recipe and others go to www.savemoneytoday.net

I used to make my own soap. Here in Canada it must be a little different (more expensive) because I was only saving 1 cent a load! It wasn't worth my time for that! I'll check out the other links!
