Oh my goodness....TWO Teeth!!! I knew once they started, it would happen quick, but...two in two days! No wonder she has been so grumpy...poor little thing!

First tooth coming through on bottom. She wonders what all the fuss is about and why crazy Mommy keeps sticking fingers in her mouth and getting all excited. I don't know why I am happy. Just means my baby is growing up...so soon. My other angel turns 5 years old tomorrow. My sweet girls

Just for my records an update on baby:
Neuro--So alert and bright. Talking/babbling. Knows the sign for "milk" and uses it when she is tired/fussy. Says MaMa and DaDa, and seems to know they are words for us. Responds so well to Victoria and loves her. Friendly with strangers. Easily smiles and responds to people.
GI: Taking all ceral grains/a variety of vegetables and fruits/juices/"cheerios"/chicken and tolerating all well. Drinks from a sippy cup, even hold it by herself. Favorite food is sweet potatoes (such a southerner!) and likes orange juice. Like her big sister and cousins loves bread/biscuits. BM's as expected with solids. Still nurses 2-3 times/day. Mostly on rising, before pm nap and again at bedtime. No teeth yet, but gums appear white, and still symptomatic, so we expect teeth any day now.
M/S: Works hard to pick up "cheerios", but can't quite get them into mouth. Holds cup/brings it to her mouth well. Reaches/grabs EVERYTHING. Pulls self up to standing by herself. Loves to jump in jumper and has been "walking" around the whole house in her walker for several months now.
Hardly any hair but what she does have is very light blonde. Big blue eyes. Loves to take a bath, especially with big sister. Sleeps through the night 9-10 pm until 7-9 am. Favorite toys are little connecting rings, and teething toys. Friendly, happy baby. Loves Daddy and big sister so much. She is the apple of our eyes. We love her very much.

Being the good mother/wife that I am

...
I try and vary the vegetables I prepare for my family, to get a broad variety of vitamins and minerals. Well, last night I chose turnip. I haven't had it for such a LONG time. It is not a very popular vegetable here in the south. Actually, you can only find very small ones (compared to what I am used to getting at home), so there were 5 small turnips.
My mother taught me to always add a little sugar when preparing turnip, to take away the bitterness. A little being
maybe 1/4 cup or so. Well...I spilled my sugar container into the pot. Approximately 2 cups were added. I ignored my guardian angel at that point, and quickly scooped out as much as was possible and kept on my merry way of getting it ready. My mouth was watering, and I could hardly wait to have a big scoop with our roast chicken, baked potatoes and new carrots! I knew it would be a little sweet, but I was determined!
We ate supper. My next mistake was ignoring the little nagging voice in my head that said I shouldn't have seconds. It was a little sweet, but it complimented the meal so well. I piled it on and had two heaping scoops the second time around. YUM!
Okay, here is what that "little voice" was trying to warn me about. I AM STILL BREASTFEEDING!!!!!!!
Normal evening. Kids to sleep. Mommy doing her puzzles. Daddy snoring. So nice and quiet when in the still of the night came the blood curdling wails of the baby. I ran to her and thought she must be really hungry to cry
SO loud, and offered her even more of my nauseatingly gaseous liquid! After an hour or so of screeching similar to the many evenings she was racked with colic so few months ago, I sat straight up and looked at my now awake husband, in tears and silently screamed...TURNIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am enjoying my coffee right now. Oblivious to the anguish of
our night, my four year old had no desire to "sleep in", and even though she was up half the night, the baby is wide awake, her delightful self and no worse for the wear this morning. This will be a hard day for mommy! I am so tired.

Angelina was in my arms today while I was talking to Jeff, and said, plain as day, "Da da Da da". Her first words... and Daddy got to hear them too! She was close to the phone when she did it, so I asked if he heard that, and he did! How precious! Hallmark moment!

Angelina had 6 month check yesterday. Almost 13 lbs and a little over 26 inches long. She had to get two needles (poor little thing). She has changed so much just this past week. Jeff was commenting last evening how she all of a sudden is able to do so many things. All scary things for Mommy, that is. Like grab everything within reach, and maneuver the walker wherever she wants it to go, put everything into her mouth, etc. Our little babe is growing up so fast... She is making gestures that look like she is catching on to the sign language we are using with her. I can hardly believe it, at her age, but the Nurse Practitioner said don't underestimate babies! It is the cutest thing to see her hit her face with her little fist, or try to squeeze her hand shut (milk sign) and raise her hands over her head for "aaaallll ddddoooone". We are enjoying her so much. Victoria loves to just get in her face and watch her joy at big sis. Warms Mommy's heart.
