If God has asked, He will provide

Posted in Daily Ramblings

I'm in complete awe of our Creator and how He provides.  Sometimes as we are going through things we just don't understand why or how... we just need to trust.  Why is it that we always get that concern or worry.

I've said before that my dd13 has chosen to go to a cyber school.  I finally had agreed and started the process of enrolling her.  There was a part of me that didn't want her to go to the cyber, but the financial part was a plus.  The thought of the cyber school providing the curriculum, computer, supplies, etc. was quite appealing.  It would be one less child I would have to try to figure out how we were to pay for curriculum.  The other day we found out that she didn't do so well on her math.  They would have to place her in 7th grade math and 8th grade for the rest of her school.  That was okay, until we found out that she would be considered a 7th grader.  This of course, was a devestation to her.   So, unless she wanted to repeat her 7th grade year... her only choice is to continue to homeschool and improve her math skills.  She was dissapointed, but she has a great attitude.  One of her biggest desires is to learn Spanish & that was another plus with the cyber school.  I felt a sense of relief that she would be continuing her studies with us.  My prayer was how were we to provide for now another child's curriculum.

During my devotion the next morning, I was reading about Abraham and Isaac.  God had asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac.  Although, I can only imagine that Abaraham was devestated with having to do it... he asked no questions and submitted.  As Abraham and Isaac made their journey up the mountain, Isaac asked his father where the lamb was.  Abraham answered him saying, "God himself will provide the lamb."  Abraham trusted.

I have read and heard this story many, many times.  Never had it spoke to me as it did that morning.  This time around as I'm reading... I'm reading it out of my husbands NIV Disciple's Study Bible.  As I've been reading it I've been reading the foot notes that go with the scriptures.  Below is the notes on Genesis 22:14:  "GOD, Grace - Preparing to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, Abraham learned that God is a gracious God., who will provide for us what He expects from us.  We are not relieved of our responsibility.  Indeed, we are requred to act in faith, as Abraham did.  When we commit ourselves to doing what God asks of us, God will work within us and around us so that we can carry out His will for us.  He does not make impossible, unreasonable demands of us."

The message to me was and is... God closed the door on the cyber school.  His will is for her to be homeschooled.  If God has asked me and desires me to homeschool these children... I need to commit myself to what God has asked me to do.  Not to worry and trust that He will provide the means for what He has asked me to do.  He will provide.

Usually, DH gets quite a few side jobs during the summer.  Unfortunately this year the calls have been very slim and just small jobs.   This morning God showed that He can provide... my DH received a phone call to do a roofing job.  Why is it we get ourselves in a tizzy about where the means is going to come from?  Why is it so hard sometimes to just trust?

On top of that a friend of mine is also looking for someone to do Spanish.... and now we are working on getting a small group to get together to learn Spanish.  We even had someone offer to teach/oversee them.  God is good... God is Great!

Celebrating with you! And praising God for His answers to your prayers.

My husband named his consulting business Jireh Consulting & Training several years ago, so it's a constant reminder to us of God's provision every time I answer the phone on behalf of the business.

So great to see how this all worked out! You can email me with any more details. I'm really pleased for you that you can have a Spanish group. My oldest daughter just mentioned to me that we should have done more with ours, but I said, "Unless you have someone to do it with, you don't remember it. Then you have to keep using it or you forget it anyways!" I had 3 years of it in high school and don't remember much since I haven't used it. Now my oldest is taking it again in college and using it and going to study in a foreign country this fall that speaks it.

Just really glad this all fell into place for you, and glad that hubby got the garage he wanted (again!).
