We had our first day of School today. It went pretty well. In Weaver Volume 2 we will be studying character traits. Our trait for this Unit is Respect. Our memory verse is 1 Peter 2:18 "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh." I'm excited about working on our character.
dd13 is reading a book on Ancient Egypt... doesn't she look thrilled?

ds12 is working on his Apples Daily Spelling Drills. This is the second version.

dd7 is doing her writing.... A Reason for Handwriting. She even brought me carrots this morning. She said we didn't have any apples!

Let's see... Oh, I took a couple of pictures of our school room. This is where we do most of our schooling, although we will spread out to other rooms occasionally. Last year the kids found that they liked doing majority of their individual lessons in their rooms... however, this year I've asked that they do their work primarily in the school room. I'm hoping it will help them to stay more focused and more productive. (neater too!)

They each have their own desk in the school room. I really love that everything is here. It'll be great when eventually the bathroom will be done down stairs! I picked this room out the first time we looked at this house for the schoolroom. It works perfect!
I suppose I should go and look over my lessons for tomorrow. dh and the kids are watching "the Crocodile Hunter". It doesn't interest me too much... so, it gives me time to get some things done. Have a blessed evening.

Glad to hear schools off to a good start. We also started yesterday, so far so good!
