Jan. 19, 2007 - Some possible ideas for our next meeting, or other meetings...
Has anyone thought about maybe going to the tv station, or somewhere that talks about the weather-a meteorologist's weather center, or whatever it may be called. What about the Discovery Center-although I am sure many have gone there already on their own. Some other ideas:
Fast food restaurant, see how it works
A tour of the hospital
Frito Lay Plant
Burpee Museum
Planetarium(not sure if there is one around here)
The paper plant-I think somewhere near South Beloit/Rockton
Just some ideas, leave comments if something sounds good.

I think you have some GREAT ideas. We will have to look into some of them. I will call some places this week.

| If I'm not mistaken, Theresa said after 9-11 that they don't offer tours anymore. Brian said that he thought the old children's farm had a planetarium, but he thought we'd have to go at night. I suppose that would be with the park district now. Brian said the postmaster at Roscoe post office would give us a tour, but it is a small office, no sorting machines and such, but it would be educational and free. |

I am sorry, I did not realize that I did not write my name! I usually do, especially when I am not logged in! Yes that was Beth. I like the post office idea-mentioned. I'd really like to look into the paper plant and see if they even offer tours. I think that would be so cool, and it's in South Beloit area, so it's nice and close. Anyways, that's my input.

Frito Lay - I hadn't heard about the Frito Lay thing. I could ask Rich Swanson. He works there. I think that the post office would be fascinating. I am sure the kids would like it too. I think a grocery store or hospital could be interesting.
