New Noah Picture!
Posted in Noah Updates
|

This is a picture of me (Jeff) visiting with Noah on Monday. As you can see, Noah is a pretty happy. His nurse drew a mustache on the tape that supports his feeding tube.
The doctor told us that his EEG results were normal, so they are no longer concerned about seizures. He did have another alergic reaction to the antibiotics that they gave him (the fourth time this has happened). He has basically run out of options for oral antibiotics, so they had to put in a new IV line so that he could get his antibiotics that way. Please pray that his urinary tract infection clears up so that they can get him off the antibiotics.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) he is scheduled to get his PEG-tube put in. They will not be taking a muscle tissue biopsy at this time. If the biopsy is deemed necessary, we will have to travel to the Emory Center in Atlanta.
Many of you have emailed us with encouraging words. I apologize if I have not had the chance to respond to them all yet. I will try to catch up on that later this week. Several people have expressed interest in visiting Kate and Noah. Kate said all visitors are welcome, but call ahead to make sure they are available at the time you plan to visit so that it doesn't overlap with any of his tests, therapy, procedures, etc. Just email me at ourquiverfull@earthlink.net and I will give you Kate's phone number to contact her.
Have to run, but here are my five thing to be thankful for today:
1. Babysitters. We have several friends & family members who have pitched in to help watch the kids so that I can visit Kate or get into the office to get some work done. They are a great source of stress relief right now.
2. Tacos. A dear family friend made dinner for us last night. After a long day, they were wonderful!!
3. Technology. Sometimes it can be frustrating to deal with, but I love being able to take a digital picture, upload it to the computer and putting it on a blog that everybody can read. I'd rather be a middle class American today, that be the richest king with all the luxeries that the 14th century could offer.
4. At this time, not only are the Boston Red Sox leading their division - they have the best record of ANY baseball team. GO SOX!
5. Superman. We have a DVD collection of the old Superman TV shows from the 1950's with George Reeves and Noel Neil. The kids and I love to watch this cheesy old B-rated shows. Great stress relief right now.
That's all for now. We will update again once Noah is out of surgery tomorrow.

Thank you so much for posting this photo along with an update, Jeff! The updates are so helpful in guiding our prayers. It's also fun to see the "rakish" goatee Kate spoke so highly of. Then, of course, there is that incredibly precious "Mr. Kissable Baby" on your lap!
Blessings to all,
Marsha

Thanks for the update and wonderful picture. What a handsome boy! Has Noah been checked for urine reflux? I have three daughters with reflux. Two have been "cured" surgically and one is still waiting to see if it will fix itself. It isn't common, but is easily controlled with antibiotic. Please ask your pediatric urologist to be sure--it used to kill kids mysteriously, now it's pretty straightforward. Just wanted you to know. tracy

Jeff,
Thank you so much for the update and the picture. Noah looks good. The kids and I will be in prayer for Noah and you all this morning. You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isa 26:3

Jeff & Kate,
Thank you so much for including the picture of Noah in the update. It is great to be able to picture his smilling face in my mind now while praying for you guys. We will keep praying for Noah and both of you - that God will give you strength, patience, wisdom, endurance, peace, fellowship, joy and draw each of you closer to Him. Also praying for the family, friends and doctors God has put around you at this time.
All things through Him,
Karen

Hi, I just found your blog through NotebookingPages, and wanted to let you know my family will be praying for Noah, and for all of you. Our youngest was very premature and has experienced some of the same procedures as Noah (she still has a sensitive spot from a very blown vein two years ago); as a parent, it can be heartbreaking to watch, and sometimes to hold down, your child while he or she is being poked, prodded, and who knows what else. Noah has beautiful, love-filled blue eyes, and it is that and God's love that gives me hope for him. No one can say what God's will is for him, or for you, but miracles happen at the most amazing times. And whatever comes, God will give you the strength to get through it. I pray that God blesses you with comfort, grace and love for the coming months.
